Popeye’s Louisana Kitchen

Taste great but window service sucks, one time was missing a platter. Today. I order. 4 two pieces (8)rec’d only 3 orders (6) 1 shrimp platter 8.99 and 1 Magnolia blossom 4.99 I got 2 magnolia got shorted 2pieces plus 4 bucks. bottom line check your order

World’s slowest drive thru ever. Been sitting here for over 10 minutes and I’ve moved up one car.

Drive thru employee friendly and respectable. I asked for a substitution on a platter and this was done without any hassle (I checked order because I was skeptical based on previous reviews) and to my surprise everything was there! Cup holders, hot sauce and other condiments were offered and in our bag! Great customer service!

I’m giving them one star because I have to in order to post this review but they deserve no stars! Walked into the restaraunt to avoid the drive thru line and waited over 40 minutes for just an order of sides. They appeared to fully staffed so I’m not sure what the problem was. The staff has no sense of urgency and have horrible attitudes. At one point the cashier left the register to clean a table leaving a line of 10 people to wait. Tables are filthy and the restrooms are disgusting. Eventually I had to ask for my money back because I couldn’t justify waiting over an hour for sides.

I have gone twice, and both times they ran out of the regular chicken, but had the spicy.

The reviews of this Popeyes are very inaccurate, I went to this location a few days ago… My food was fresh, the person who took my order was very friendly… She smiled, didn’t rush, answered my questions. She made sure everything was in my bag the only thing I don’t like about Popeyes (this is for them all) if I order over 8 pieces of chicken I only receive 4 packets of their Louisiana hot sauce… This is a disappointment because I love the Louisiana hot sauce even though it’s pretty much all vinegar lol I wish they would train their staff on adding the right amount of everything… I also didn’t receive very many napkins, one of my sides I ordered the Cajun fries and it looked like a ten year old gave me a handful of fries… Very disappointing for the price you pay for the this establishment… Sigh though I will keep returning because I love Popeyes.

This is the most pathetic excuse for a Popeyes fried chicken restaurant. I have never seen a restaurant run out of chicken (white meat) at ⁴⁄₅ o’clock in the afternoon through dinner time. Obviously the management does not know how to forecast sales of what they will need daily. And this happens more than once a week.
Well it’s been a month and NOTHING HAS CHANGED AND THEY HAVE NERVE TO HAVE ATTITUDE! Family came from out of town a week ago, went to the restaurant on Beverly in Montebello, again no white meat, no spicy wings (as advertised) and no banana pudding dessert. I work downtown and go to the Popeye’s on Marengo (by county hospital) and the restaurant on Figueroa by USC. Never seen them run out of chicken, service with a smile, take note Montebello…

El mejor pollo frito (hasta el momento) que he probado. Tienen un combo con camarones y pollo por $ 5 muy eco ovino y verdaderamente bueno. El lugar está en una buena zona. Tienen parqueo ampli por estar en una plaza y las señoritas muy amables y te ayudan para elegir tu orden; tienen esta máquina de soda con una variedad q puede elegir la soda q no te imaginas. Para ser un restaurante de comida rápida muy recomendable!!!

Didn’t give this restaurant a negative star because it’s not an option. It’s 9 pm and the restaurant is full of customers as well as a long line in the drive-​thru. The manager comes out and says they only have a limited amount of chicken left and could only accommodate about 4 customers and would not be frying anymore chicken because it was an hour before closing. Really?! Left me questioning how old the chicken was that they had left. It’s 9pm and you close at 10. Guess he must of had a date or something more important that providing good customer service.

The food is great, but they always run out of stuff, they are slow, and they charge you for everything
Othere popeyes are better, this one is over priced becoyse its in montabello. Its ridiculous. If you have to go here, but try a diffrent one for a better experience

I ordered the $ 5 box and was told the only sides available for take out were Fries and coleslaw. Also there were no Drinks since the machine was broken, oh wait The tea was available since they sell it by the gallon. No water was available either, needless to say people were walking out due to food items and drinks unavailable. Worst service, a lady was charged for a drink that she couldn’t have too. This location runs out of food hoping you’ll buy what they have left. If enough people voice their bad experience to the 1800 number Maybe they will improve. Staying away from this location.. Bad decisions by mgmt staff.

This is the first time I ever left a review but I really wanted to describe my experience at the Montebello restaurant this Friday afternoon (7:15pm, 9÷11÷15). First the drive through line was incredibly slow and by the time I got to the order kiosk the attendant said that they were out of all sides except fries and coleslaw. So I settled and chose fries for our side for our (4) orders and after another 10 – 15 minutes I got to the window and the attendant said that that they only have mild chicken (3 of my orders were spicy). So again I settled and chose regular chicken. Here is a list of the wrong items in my order:
–Ordered a (5) piece chicken strip meal and received a (3) piece. Paid for five piece meal
–Ordered a (3) piece chicken meal and received a (2) piece. Paid for a three piece meal.
Wasn’t offered ketchup or ranch for the strips at the drive thru (even though all four of my orders had fries). I ended up parking and went inside. The person at the counter was way over worked and rude. She wanted to charge me for the ranch even though I paid for the meals. She didn’t like that I asked for the ranch and gave me ones that were sitting on the counter (warm). Worse experience I had at a restaurant ever. Very disappointed.

Alright a new Popeye’s in my area and it is right next to the gym, sweet. I love the smell of fried chicken after a long workout and I’m starving for some protein.
Okay enough jokes aside this is a great new location because you can pick up dinner for the family after a workout. Of course the flavor is consistent because it is a food chain and even though I am more geared towards KFC this place is not bad. I wish they had better local food deals other than what’s on TV but no matter what it is tasty. It is brand new so the place is clean but the service is slow because it is new. I feel once they get there rhythm this place will pump out chicken like their competitors.
So yes I will return here again and it just depends on my families wants and needs. It isn’t a go to spot but it is a tasty option in my city.

The service is nothing special.
The food is very good for a chain restaurant. It is way better and less greasy the KFC. Its also a bit pricey.

Came here on a Tuesday around 10 pm after bowling since they had a sale on their chicken got there with my family had been coming to this Popeyes for quite a while now and it usually has really nice people but this time it was an older woman I can’t remember her name but we asked for mild and she ended up giving us spicy and refused to change it so we ended up buying more. After a friend of mine went and ordered a fountain drink and the girl replied «You know you have to pay for that» like wth really I didn’t know how dumb do you think we are obviously we’re gonna pay… starting to become so rude id rather drive an extra few minutes and go to a better one should really pay attention to who you’re hiring.

This place has horrendous service and disgusting food. Is it my taste buds that are off or what because everything tasted too salty, the chicken looked wrong and the spicy gravy tasted like something from a can at the 99 cent store. And not to mention I couldn’t hear the dude at the order window, and he didn’t hesitate to show his annoyance towards me once I got to the food window. When I brought it up I was told that I was too far from the speaker. Uhh last I knew it was called a drive through where we order from our car in a designated lane? I think the fact that the speaker is facing traffic on a busy street might have something to do with it buddy. 9 $ for all this? Definitely won’t be coming back. All I wanted was to try a 2 piece.

New location to the Montebello area. The food when your craving fried chicken is good. The dipping sauces are also really good.
The service at this location is really good. I’ve had a chance to dine in and also use the drive through multiple times. Each time I dine whether busy they genuinely greet me and take my order and even suggest things ‚
The speed of the service is very efficient and fast. They normally have you in and out with your food in under 8 minutes. If for some reason they need to make a fresh batch it takes about 8 minutes.
The location is very clean. Both the inside and the exterior is well taken care of.
If your looking for a new Popeyes location I think this one might be it .

Been to this popeyes several times and more that one bad experience 1^st time was a good food was great long wait due to recent grand opening that was ok now for. Cons on the 2^nd trip i went on they were out of stock on certain products. I went for a 3^rd time and decided to get a box deal which they had advertised on the front window and as I ordered it they said that deal ended they haven’t had the time to take it down. i ask for a alternative they said no sorry didn’t try to help out at all

Before we headed out to the market, we were craving some fried chicken, I remember Roscoe’s House of Chicken & Waffles. The food was so good, but we didn’t want to travel long distance and wait in line for fried chicken. I told my wife let’s go to Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen in Montebello, I was tell her the restaurant was open couple months ago we headed to Montebello.
This Popeye’s restaurant looks really nice, this site use to be a Carl’s Jr. Wow it looks so modern from the other Popeye’s restaurants it have a drive thru and plus a Coca-​Cola Freestyle soda fountain machine, one of my favorite soda fountain machine, I can decided what flavor of Coke product that I can choice from.
We order the eight piece chicken with Cole slaw and biscuits, we also got on the side two apple pie and two drinks. The chicken was really crispy and juicy but it wasn’t greasy that’s kind of fried chicken I like. The cole slaw was really good and the biscuits were nice and fluffy just add little bit of honey it taste so delicious. The apple pie was really good on top of the apple pie was cinnamon sugar.
Overall this Popeye’s restaurant probably have the second best fried chicken but I like Roscoe’s House of Chicken & Waffles best. Popeye’s fried chicken have improve and getting very popular.

The one thing that makes me happy is the accessibility of this location.
Easy to get to. No more having to drive through Monterey Park to the nearest location in Alhambra. If you’re familiar with the traffic in that area, you know what I mean.
Large parking lot and a big plus is that it has a drive-​thru.
The quality of the chicken was as good as we’ve had from other locations.
Picked up a 12-​piece family meal and went half regular & spicy.
Is it just me or did the sides containers get smaller?
We also picked up an order of shrimp & chips.
The shrimp, not too good. Overly battered and had a bit of a grainy texture.
I gave the rest of the shrimp to the one son who’ll eat anything and he even took a pass.
The seasoned fries were very tasty though.
Pretty sure my Popeye’s loving family will be regular customers here.

Place is ok, I enjoyed the chicken, but the sides leave room for improvement.
Do not get the mac and cheese, a watery, flavorless waste of food.
I hope it improves as time goes on, but right now I am I in no hurry to wait in line for the «new» fast food in the area.
