They are no longer open. New place called«The Spot» is in their place that offers a lot of the same Mac and cheese options, and a lot more. Hopefully it’s better and more viable than the last place!

This place is HORRIBLE. The cheese has no flavor, there wasn’t any breadcrumbs on top as the menu stated. the prices are RIDICULOUS. .99 Kraft Mac n cheese is better than this crap. Not sure what the owners/chef were thinking when they opened this place. It’s an embarrassment. If ur going to open up a Mac n cheese joint, then LEARNHOWTOMAKEMAC N CHEESE!

Had the Reuben Mac and the Asiago Chicken Sandwich. Both were really tasty and the sandwich tasted fresh. However I remember the wait was a little long for just those two items. And we ordered a small size of the Mac too. Would probably come back and try more menu items if I find myself in the area again. Other than that, I wouldn’t go out of my way unless I’m really craving it.

I rarely give such a low rating unless the place actually deserves it. I ordered the Southwest Mac which on the menu states that it is made with cheddar, pepper jack, jalapeños, and cornbread topping. I opened the container to find green bits… that were NOT jalapeños, but clearly regular green peppers. I don’t appreciate that they think people are dumb enough to not know the difference. Then comes the worst part… after a few bites, I spotted and pulled out a long brown/blond hair stuck in the mac n’ cheese. Obviously, I lost my appetite immediately and had to chuck it away. What a waste of my time and money. As for the taste of the few bites that I had, it definitely lacked in flavor– I’ve had better frozen mac n’ cheese to say the least. After this experience, I will definitely not be returning and advise others to do the same…

If you like the taste of food don’t go here. Just a whole lot of bland food. So very disappointing. You get a lot of food for your buck, but I’d be willing to pay more and get less for some flavor. Felt like I was just filling the requirement to eat rather than enjoying it. Also delivery took an hour. No big deal, but plan accordingly.

I see positive reviews on this page and I can’t believe they’re talking about the same place. We walked in and right away I could tell something wasn’t right. There’s a cavernous quality to the space, and you have to talk in a whisper if you don’t want your voice echoing. This was emphasized even more because as large as the dining area was, there were only four small tables and only four other people eating there, even though we were there at 7pm on a Friday night. It felt more like a pop-up restaurant than a well-established restaurant. Ordering was strange as well. They didn’t have the gluten free bread as advertised, and the prices for kids meals were $ 2 less on the printed menus than they were on the digitized, fast-food style menu board hanging over the counter, which we didn’t realize until after we had ordered and then realized that the cashier failed to give us a receipt, so there was no way to see which price we were charged. The person behind the counter couldn’t answer any questions about menu items and had to keep walking over and talking to the two guys in the kitchen who seemed irritated that someone was disturbing their chillax time. Then there was the food. One mac-n-cheese was so dry, you couldn’t even scoop it out of the container. It was just pasta with a bunch of shredded cheese melted, until it was all one large block. The burgers were also dry and way overdone. They completely forgot my son’s mac-n-cheese, and it didn’t show up until the rest of us were basically done eating. My chicken fajita panini was okay. The fries were great.

For a place that specializes in «gourmet Mac and cheese,» leaves EVERYTHING to be desired. The traditional Mac and Cheese was completely flavorless made with overcooked pasta and convenience store cheese and the extra turkey bacon I asked to be added was limp and cut in large strips. For a small size, I paid over $ 8. I was so infuriated, that I made myself nauseous(it might have been the«food»). Not worth time, money, and frustration.

Mellow yellow atmosphere, inviting staff, and CHEESE! Yep, I can’t deny my infatuation with the unique macaroni and cheese options they have here. The cuisine also inspires other spin-offs such as THE Show Stopper — hamburger between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. The name says it all. Highly recommend for anyone looking to satiate their cheese fix.

This is my new go-to Mac and cheese spot since Elbow Room closed down in Newark. The Mac and cheese is okaaay — definitely not up to the quality at Elbow Room, but it’s comfort food, so it’s delicious either way. I ordered the Lobster Mac and Cheese and they really skimp out on the meat. The few pieces of kosher are sweet and flavorful, but it wasn’t enough. Definitely not worth the $ 13+ you pay. Stick with the traditional, you can’t go wrong there.

Really bland mac and cheese and kind of pricey. Save your money and get something to eat elsewhere.

I never use my Unilocal account to actually write reviews but my experience with mac attack tonight was so awful that I needed to write this and warn people. I have ordered from mac attack before and they have made small mistakes often enough to for me to be weary, but even with their subpar track record I was not prepared for tonight. I always order the traditional mac with bacon. … and I don’t know what happened tonight. It had no breadcrumbs, it was flavorless, and I don’t think the floppy stuff they put in there was bacon. If it was, I’m worried for my own health because bacon should NOT be that texture if it is proudly cooked. I will never order from here again and I advise others against it as well.

This place went downhill fast. Cheese tots used to be delicious and overflowing with cheese. This time I couldn’t even tell there was cheese on the tots. The seasoned French fries had very little seasoning. Steak grilled cheese was just steak on bread. It barely had cheese on it. This place used to be amazing but it has not remained consistent. Also, prices are very expensive for what you’re getting.

Just ordered the Traditional 3-cheese. Took a bite and tasted mayo. Never mentioned it on menu and who puts mayo on a grill cheese. Not worth going back

Just ordered pick up here and was very disappointed. So disappointed that I had to go go on Unilocal to warn future customers, which I don’t normally do. Here’s what I ordered. 1. Cheddar and broccoli soup. Came out as a super thick lumpy mush. No soup at all. It was basically a pudding. 2. Grilled cheese burger. Holy crap. The meat was over seasoned with salt. Basically not edible unless you’re asking for high blood pressure. 3. Pepper jack cheese fries which I ordered as sweet potato fries but they just gave me regular ones. It came out cold and stale with the cold cheese stuck to the fries. 4. BBQ chicken Mac and cheese. It was sub par and they only put two pieces of small chicken. Like I said. I don’t normally write reviews on Unilocal but this was the first real bad experience I had where I felt I had to warn others. Order at your own risk. Oh. And there is nothing gourmet about this place.

I was really excited to try this place. It was okay. nothing great, nothing horrible. Although I am a little disappointed because I thought it would have been a cooler, funner atmosphere. The restarunt is bare… like literally bare. HUGE open space with only 3 tables to sit, was a little awkward to eat there. This should definetly be just a take out place. But the restarunt should utilize the great space they have to make it a funner place to eat and enjoy their delicious food. I had the white truffle mac and cheese. On point. It was perfection and everything a white truffle mac and cheese should be. My friend had the Philly cheese steak mac & cheese and she loved it as well. I am not a fan of onions and peppers, so it was not my cup of tea. All in all, the food was delish, but just basic, and the lack of atmosphere at the restaurant is not worth the 30 minute trip to Montclair for me.

Hands down absolutely the greatest lunch date ever. Ordered the traditional Mac that has Parmesan cheddar and manchego cheese and roasted tomato and red bell pepper soup. My boyfriend had the grilled cheese steak which has peppered steak, sweet onions, bell peppers, and American(not pictured) I really liked this place since I’m in love with cheese and believe I make the best Mac and cheese so Mac attack did an awesome job! The décor was alright, a little weak. It reminded me a lot of hot dogs and hamburgers because of the mustard yellow painted walls and red molding. I didn’t think the paint job fit but I get where they were going. There were only like 3 tables in there and they were spread out to the walls, the entire middle of the place was open. Felt weird. I think they should take professional photos of some of their best dishes and display them on the walls. Loved the wall decals they had up! The customer service was great. The guy at the cashier(longish hair, skinny, tall, backwards hat) was really nice. He greeted us and asked if it was our first time there. He also brought our food up to us, we weren’t a numbered called. He even took our trash away! I would have given this place 5 stars but I wasn’t feeling the décor =\ food was amazing !! I’ll be back for sure. And their open till 3 am on the weekends!!! Awesome.

Everyone always raves about this place, but I wasn’t really blown away. I had the Southwest Mac which was pretty good, but the jalapeños overpowered the other cheeses in it. My girlfriend had the Burger Mac which was really good. We also split the Manchego sticks which were great but pretty pricy.

You know its bad when you order food from a restaurant that specializes in macaroni and cheese and then contemplate throwing it out to make a a box of Kraft in your kitchen cupboard after the first bite. Thats how bad the food I just ordered for my family is. Even worse, my kids don’t even want it. What kid doesn’t like mac and cheese??? So, on to the«food» we ordered… — 3 different macs — traditional, truffle, and lobster. All 3 were very bland with a very odd watered down taste. I’m thinking they are precooked, frozen, then reheated when ordered. Only explanation I can come up with since all 3 had that same watered down taste. And the lobster? I’m almost guaranteeing it was imitation lobster meat! — Grilled Cheese Steak — too much cheese(and not a quality cheese at that), bread was all soggy — not even toasted evenly, and the sandwich basically fell apart when I went to pick it up. — French fries — shoestring style, a bit over cooked and soggy from being in the oil too long. — Cheese Tots — ooh ooh, the highlight of the meal(can you sense my sarcasm?) Save yourself some money by going to your local super market, head to the frozen food section, buy a huge bag of frozen tater tots and a bag of shredded cheddar and throw it all in the oven. I’m sorry I ate here…

Can I just say… I have discovered cheese heaven… which is exactly what I hope heaven will be like. I mean this place has almost everything I need to fulfill all my cheese fantasies. There is a lot to choose from on the menu. But I went with one of my all time favorite meals. I ordered the traditional grilled cheese which to me was just perfection. It was crispy and buttery on the outside and warm and melty on the inside. So good! It paired perfectly with the thick and creamy tomato basil soup. I’ll be the first to say that I am a bit of a grilled cheese snob and have had a hard time finding a place that makes a good one. I feel that most places try too hard to reinvent the grilled cheese wheel by getting all crazy and fancy with the ingredients. But Mack Attack does it well with the traditional grilled cheese by just sticking to the basics and executing it perfectly. My husband ordered the burger mac and devoured every last bite. We also ordered the pepper jack fries and sweet potato fries which were fresh out the frier and delicious. I took a star away because there is something a little awkward about the dine-in space. Maybe its too large and bright? I’m not exactly sure.

Where the hell do i begin? I really wanted to give this place more stars, but as i learned in my little 26 yrs on this planet… you cant always get what you want! The concept behind this place is awesome, who doesnt love cheese?! well maybe vegans, but the food was just not up to par. My friend and i both had multiple trips to the bathroom after and she even puked! I will say this, The White truffle oil Mac n cheese was good and so was the Nutella dessert. My manchego grilled cheese with granny smith apples on gluten free bread was okay. The cheese needed to be melted more. Both of the soups are gross, very watery and weird flavors. We spoke to whom we thought was the manager or owner and gave some of our opinions and hopefully they will update some crap. I really do. cheese is good and stuff.
