I ordered cappuccino and crêpe last winter and I ate sandwich, almond croissant and tiramisu with iced coffee. I love their almond croissant. Soooo good…

Was here again a few weeks ago and service-wise nothing has changed looking at the big picture. Food is consistently good. Added a star because the waitress gave me the iced coffee for free due to the wait… that’s great customer service, especially considering I’ve been there a good amount of times. The biggest complaint by far is service. The attitude by some of the girls working here couldn’t be more apparent. They’re too lazy and overwhelmed to walk from the kitchen area approximately 10−15ft to a table and give the owner/manager attitude. Restaurants are a team effort… not a one man show. Recommendation to the owner: Hire staff that cares and doesn’t appear overworked for having to walk 10 feet… that’s as lazy as it gets. Fire the ones that have an attitude and are lazy because they’re only hurting your business. Nonetheless, I’ll still be back for the food.

Great small place for a quick dessert bite or a small breakfast. They do their own bakery and it’s always very fresh.

Good drinks and deserts, place itself needs more work, only went there in the winter time, should go again during summer and try their outdoor seatings, would go back again.

Wonderful staff and owners, great vibe, very European. The owners are actually French. Delicious quiche and croquet monsieur! And I’m waring you, try the almond croissant and you will be returning daily!!!

Very good!!! You definitely splurge while in here but it’s worth it. They stay open late nice way to finish a dinner.

Very nasty service. We just came in for coffee and were very confused about where we were ordering from. The lady at the counter was giving us attitude but was not being clear. The bigger issue is the coffee itself. No self respecting Parisian café would use a Nespresso machine. And if they would, I would expect the coffee to at least come out faster. In the end, though, the cappuccino was just bad. No flavor and slightly burnt. This place had a food court vibe to top it all off. Not a warm Parisian café vibe. I recommend going somewhere else for coffee. Even Starbucks.

I like the crepes here. Good croissants too, and their coffee drinks are always tasty. They are a wee bit disorganized — and the macarons are more expensive than I’ve seen in other places. But, you can tell they’re trying to provide a great meal and atmosphere — the wait staff just has to organize themselves and communicate I think. That’s probably the biggest issue. They don’t know who has already covered which tables. Food wise they’re very good — warm crepes, tasty coffees, hearty sandwiches. Nice place for an affordable lunch or breakfast. Might get crowded since it is pretty small. Keep up the good work folks!

Good spot. 1) Came here to eat ham and cheese quiche. 2) I like the pistachio macaron, but their macaron is kinda expensive. 3) Ambiance is very nice.

I’ve never written a bad review in my life… For anything. I really wanted to like this place, but they just shouldn’t continue to operate. My girlfriend and I stopped in for a coffee and something quick to eat. I ordered an Americano(actually wasn’t so bad) and a raspberry/blueberry tart. She ordered a regular coffee and a goat cheese and herb quiche. We got our coffees and nearly finished them when the girl who we placed our order with came to our table and asked for our orders again after mistakenly assuming I had ordered some sort of crêpe and forgetting what my girlfriend had ordered. So we placed our orders for a second time. 30 minutes go by, our coffee is long gone and we still don’t have our seemingly simple orders served to us. 5 employees were just hanging out behind the counter chatting and occasionally looking at our table. The girl who we assumed was the manager asks from behind the counter«Hey, did you guys order food?» To her apparent surprise, we sure did order food. She came to our table and explained that one employee was being trained(not sure what the excuse was for the rest of the staff) and that our food was on its way. Unfortunately our food wasn’t on its way. Almost immediately after saying that, she finally informed me they didn’t have the tart I ordered at least a half hour ago. Another 5 minutes after that they brought out my girlfriend’s quiche. Except it wasn’t my girlfriend’s quiche… Our server arrived at the table; «spinach quiche?» Nope. Three attempts at getting an incredibly basic order out to us and three absolute failures. Don’t go here. It’s a dump.

Love this place. Right in the middle of downtown and always has fresh ingredients. The coffee is good as well as the baked goods. I usually get the baguette with avocado and and egg. Never fails.

I have come here several times already in the past year and it’s always solid. I usually have the bacon egg & cheese on croissant with a side of salad and you really cannot go wrong it’s delicious. They have awesome cappuccino that I would highly recommend too. I was a little disappointed on the macrons because I had higher expectations for them but it turned out they were just average.

Great café in Montclair with a true Parisien vibe. I love the Parisien breakfast plate which definitely reminds me of my time spent in France. I would only suggest a slightly larger menu and a small couch or love seat as an additional seating option. However, to their credit, they are working in a small space. Service is swift and efficient. A Montclair gem, for sure.

The café itself is cute and looks like a nice place to hang out and have a relaxing meal. All of the desserts and pastries displayed at the counter looked amazing! I ordered an assorted box of macarons and was a little disappointed. I ordered the almond, red velvet, vanilla, and dark chocolate. Out of the all, the chocolate was my favorite, but mainly the thing that disappointed me the most was their texture. They were very crispy when I was really hoping for a soft, melt-in-your-mouth type of cookie. That being said, that is all I’ve tried from this store, so I can’t speak for much else. Would possibly come back to try some of their lunch and breakfast options in the future.

So my friend was sweet enough to surprise me with a box of 5 macarons over the weekend. I haven’t been in the best mood lately and her knowing I am a macaron fanatic got me these as a sweet surprise to cheer me up and oh boy did they. The box itself was so cute and elegant with a little window to view them. She ended up getting me the pb&j, salted caramel, pistachio, vanilla, and red velvet. My favorites being the salted caramel and vanilla. The macaron itself was the perfect texture and the fillings were exquisite. The vanilla had a nice creamy center jam packed with vanilla beans all throughout. The salted caramel filling was addictive and rich which left me craving more. I wasn’t a big fan of the PB&J just because I’m not a peanut butter lover. The red velvet was tasty but to sweet for me to imagine eating more than one. I really enjoyed the cream cheese center. I really want to stop in here and check it out for myself as soon as I’m in the area.

Thought I wrote a review for this place ages ago. Excellent Macarons(no not macaroons). Best Pistachio/Salted Caramel in fact I have had outside of France. The rest of the pastries are OK but super pricey. I wouldn’t recommend the Caramel fleur de sil. Way too sweet with not enough salt, was 6.28 as well. Not super fresh either as it was very cold. I’ll keep it at a 4 for the macarons, but only those.

Ok, $ 2.40(I think that’s what it was) per cookie is crazy expensive. That being said, I still pay it because the cookies are outstanding! My daughter tried one of their chocolate croissants and said it was delicious. It’s always one of our stops after eating dinner at one of the many incredible restaurants on Church Street.

Every time I come to Montclair I have to come here for my fix of macaroons! The place is nice and cozy with numerous treats to choose from. I prefer my macaroons of course and the I pair them with a steaming hot cup of cappuccino. If I remember correctly, they were $ 2.75 per macaroon or 5 for $ 13. They are mouth watering and totally worth every penny! So if you are looking for a new dessert to try, I would recommend coming to this place! I even told one of the workers there that I myself make macaroons but I like to try other people’s to get an idea of other fillings to put into mine. So she recommended I make cotton candy macaroons and when I go back I will make sure I get a chance to bring some to her or tell her how yummy they tasted! Not only were the customers there super friendly and talking to me but so were the staff. They keep it nice and clean, plain and simple. I will be returning most likely next week so I can’t wait to purchase more!

Le Petit Parisien really stands out among the Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts of the neighborhood. I always enjoy coming here because it’s cozy, quaint, and the coffee and food are delicious. They have a nice selection of crepes(oo-la-la!), sandwiches, and salads for light fare. I particularly enjoy their salads because everything tastes fresh and it pairs perfectly with a nice latte or herbal tea on a cold day. Their bread/baguettes are always very tasty and crisp and the crepes are delicious too! The service is always excellent. The owners are usually there and you can see they take great pride in every area of their business. It’s usually not overly crowded or congested, but it can get busy on the weekends. They also have a wonderful selection of macarons in various colors and flavors that go great with coffee. In the summer, I love to sit in their outside seating area and people watch or just read a book. The price point is reasonable too. If you’re looking for an afternoon snack and some coffee on Church Street, this is the place to be. Enjoy!

The location of this bakery/café fits the ambiance of the entire street that this café is in, so its definitely your go to place for coffee and dessert after a big meal from restaurants near by. When you walk in, its hard not to fall in to the displayed macaron trance. Just looking at the colors of the macarons and the rest of the desserts makes your mouth water like no other. I ordered their lemon meringue tart and the éclair and it was just as I had expected amazing looking dessert to taste. I loved tangy but sweetness of the lemon meringue tart and the éclair was so good I felt sad it was gone in a few bites. I also ordered an americano and it wasn’t as amazing as their desserts but i wasn’t disappointed. Overall it was great and I’d definitely go again!

Pretty good café with a nice selection of baked goods and coffee located on Montclair’s buys Church Street. There is also a small dine-in area serving various French café-style cuisine. Service is pleasant and prices are reasonable.
