Johnny’s Pork-Roll and Coffee Truck

This is on behalf of my mother.
Our family had an amazing wedding this past weekend. Many people, companies, vendors and staff all came together for a nearly flawless day and night of celebration and love!
I say nearly flawless because of one interaction I had with a vendor that annoyed me, and need to get it off my chest.
One of the fun and unique aspects of this wedding was food trucks arriving to feed the guests. A hot dog cart, two vendors with entrée foods and an ice cream truck all came and went successfully! We all looked forward to the late night porkroll truck (a Jersey thing)!
I stood in line and when asked, I requested one of the sandwiches on the menu.
The owner of Johnny’s Pork-​Roll and Coffee Truck went off in a tirade saying… he can’t be making $ 9.00 dollar sandwiches when only being paid $ 5.00 per sandwich… that the ice cream truck was making more than him!
There was NO sign other than his regular menu!
I asked what I could get? He answered porkroll, egg and cheese or porkroll and cheese. I asked for mine on rye, instead of a roll and got a big huff, then he asked what’s you name? So, I’m a little blown away by now but I don’t yell or fight so… I answer Mother of the Bride! Nastily, he says No, what’s you name! After saying my name he went back to almost scolding me… oh, you came to the tasting… I wasn’t there, you can’t have all these for that price… I told the planner… and on and on!!!
Well, we had a contract since January!
It is NOT anybody’s business what the hosts of a wedding pay for anything!
NO vendor, NO business owner should EVER talk business with customers, or use a scolding tone!
No matter how good your product may be… your attitude counts! A lot!!!
Witnessing this were six other guests in line, including one of the earlier vendors!
Also, another vendor left his truck overnight and came back in the AM to find Johnny’s Pork-​Roll and Coffee Truck garbage left behind his truck!
The only reason he remained was to not rock our boat, which upsetting the bride and groom in their moment would have! Others I later spoke to would not have walked away like I did!
Our family will never be his customers again! We will not go to someone so rude and abusive. No one should, he is NOT that good!
Please someone out there… who is not rude, disrespectful and unprofessional open another porkroll truck for future parties!

So in other words the guy was a complete asshole!!!

On a cloudy and clammy Memorial Day Monday we decided to take a stroll down to North Beach and lo and behold the food trucks were open. Johnny’s served up one of the tastiest pork roll sandwiches we ever had and he even grilled up a cheese sandwich as my vegetarian selection. Although the truck was not fully stocked due to the bad weather the owner made everything tasty and cooked to perfection.

Probably some of the best pork roll sandwiches you can get in NJ! The food is awesome and the guys are even cooler to talk with. If you see the truck around, definitely stop by! Only gripe is they are kinda on the expensive side, but definitely worth it!

Went here on ⁸⁄₁₉ at North Eats in Asbury Park. The fella working the truck was an asshole, plain and simple. Berating customers, just nasty in general. Actually telling them to patronize other trucks on site. The prices are nothing to sneeze at either.
I will not be going back to this truck. Much rather hit up Korean Taco truck. Better food, better people better value. Hell, just better overall.

Pretty tasty pork roll blt however very little pork roll! 2 slices and 1 slice of Bacon for $ 8!!! Yikes! Prob not worth the money.

I don’t like Taylor Ham so I was sure I wouldn’t like these pork roll sandwiches but it’s nothing like I expected. Worth the wait! I got the pulled pork which fyi is not pulled pork shoulder, it’s sliced pork roll but delish!
