I was very impressed with the style and décor of the place. Very well designed. My husband and I stopped in for a cocktail and a light dinner. The calamari rings were crispy and delicious. We order the fish of the day which was fluke… so fresh. I would definitely recommend the Point Bar and Grill.

Try finding ANY restaurant open on the South Fork in January. We spent over an hour on the phone searching for a nice place which was open for lunch. A few places were open in the Hamptons, but with four $$$$ signs, no way we were forking over that much cash for a light lunch. Driving all the way into Montauk village on the main drag, we came upon The Point. EXCELLENTPLACE for a bite, and easy on your wallet. The place was fairly empty, except for some regulars at the bar. There were tons of TVs all over the bar and dining areas — great for sports fans. The bartender came right over to us when we chose our table, and she was friendly and efficient. When we asked about a couple of ingredients which might be in the food, she found out for us what the kitchen said, and got right back to us with the information. We ordered the calamari — lightly fried, *slightly* greasy, an ample portion, and overall, a tasty appetizer. We both ordered the Fish Reuben — served with fries, tomato, onion and pickles, and tartar on the side. A nice sized piece of fish, fried perfectly — not at all greasy — VERY fresh — on toasted farm white bread(big thick slices) with a mild slaw. One of us ordered fries well done — they were — perfectly. We’ll be back to this place — I’d give it a 5, actually — I give them kudos for being open in a closed down town!

i ordered the seared local sesame glazed tuna with mashed potatoes and season veggies and a guinness on tap. perfect. pretty presenation. good tasting. happy surprise. the green veggies were presented equal in importance(and not a side kick, to simply garnish and toss away), perfectly steamed broccoli with their delicious stems and green beans. the tuna could have been a bit more tender, but, nontheless, tasty. a cozy off-season retreat, and may be, the only show in town.

Buffalo chic wrap was on point. I was full for the rest of the day. Bar fare items. Good for quick beer and to grab a bite after lighthouse.

So we are in Montauk and its off season and none of the highly rated places are open, even though Unilocal shows them as open. So what’s a girl gotta do for some Fish and chips in this town that shuts down at 5 pm??? After driving for 1 hour and being disappointed several times we come find this sports bar. First off, service is mindblowing! There were two servers and about a 100 people in that bar(Mets&Dodgers was on). Despite this we had minimal wait time and service time. I had the fish n chips, three chunks that came with a side of slaw and a huge portion of chips. Husband had the Rueben sandwich which was great too. We topped it off with the chocolate volcano dessert. The food wasn’t spectacular, but it exceeded expectations. The ambience is sporty and lively. Overall I am grateful this place existed and we came across it. Kudos to the server– Mary! Sweating it out and smiling all the way through such a busy affair!

My star rating is based solely on the service because I wasn’t even given the opportunity to taste the food. When my boyfriend and I walked in on the Sunday before labor day around 8:15 pm there was only one woman serving/hosting/bussing. She gave us the option of a high top in the bar area or a regular table. Due to the amount of families with young children in the dining area we opted for the high top. It was obvious they were severely under staffed. Just two waiters and a full house. The bar itself wasn’t very busy and two bartenders rolled silver ware while the other two flirted with a customer. I repeatedly tried to call the waitress over but she avoided eye contact. There was a man reprimanding the bartenders who I assumed to be the manager. Two attempts to get his attention failed so we walked after 20 minutes of being ignored.

After all of the times I’ve been to Montauk I can’t believe this was my first time here! We came in with a large group of 14. Unfortunately they were unable for us to all sit together so we sat at 3 different tables, it worked out though! The place itself looks like an old sports bar, lots of wood and sports memorabilia décor. Bar itself was nice and had a lot of seating. We sat at the high top tables near the bar because it was too crowded in the dining room. Our drinks were good, we started off with mango margaritas. We went for a 2nd round but they were out of mango so we went with just regular margaritas. Both margs were tasty and not too sweet. Other beers were on tap such as Sam Adams, Montauk and Bud. We started with the eggrolls with chicken and cheese. They were a bit greasy but they were crunchy and well prepared. For dinner I had the shrimp tacos which came with 2 tacos full of shrimp, cheese and bacon… mouthwatering! Also came with a side of fries which I could have done without. My mom got the fish tacos which we’re seasoned nicely and came with a side of guac, salsa and sour cream, no fries. I wish mine had these sides instead of fries because we ended up sharing them from her plate. My bf had the fish and chips which were nice and crispy. You could also tell the fish was pretty fresh which was great! Will definitely stop back here next fime I’m in town

Location is very convenient and then tons of street parking. We came here on a Saturday afternoon to watch the Championships league, we were seated right away in the dining area facing a big t.v. Cool! There is a bar area as well with a couple televisions featuring the Belmont stakes etc… I ordered the cucumber lemonade, fried calamari and nachos, boy! I didn’t expect it to be that good, it was a pleasant surprise. Then it got busy after we were seated, and the I can feel they are understaffed, maybe they didn’t expect to get busy even if the Belmont stakes and championship league is on. Anyways, just can’t go wrong with this bar. Recommended!,

Great place to eat, drink and watch sports. The tuna steak and stuffed burger were both very good.

If you’re from out of town, watch out coming here. The bartenders and managers are outrageously rude to guests. We witnessed the staff insulting bar customers to their faces. Super awkward. Bartenders will disappear and not return. Better to check out some of the other places in town, but if you do come here, beware.
