I love it when my wife has a dental appointment with the great Dr Cohane in Monsey. It means that I get to drive her from Fort Lee to Monsey and have breakfast at Ralphie’s diner. This place is a classic. And a classic as you know means something where every detail has been perfected to the point that nothing should be changed. The taste of all the food in the ingredients, the ambience and most of all Ralphie himself who sees to every detail. Go enjoy you will return often. You may even make some friends especially if you sit at the counter because everyone there seems to love the place as much as I do. Very friendly place.

I stopped in at Ralphie’s Diner which serves up breakfast and lunch. This is a very casual full service diner, which is very cozy and old school. The menu offerings are fairly basic including the standard breakfast dishes/items(eggs, omelettes, griddle cakes, French toast, muffins) and breakfast specials, sandwiches, burgers, soups, salad platters, and side items. The prices here reasonable, items under $ 10. I ordered the Hearty Hero Special($ 8.95) and chose the Chicken Cutlet Parmigiana served with cole slaw and pickles. The big sub was cut in half, which had tender breaded chicken breast smothered with a hearty tomato meatsauce & lots of melted mozzarella cheese on a toasted sesame seed sub roll. The cole slaw served in a small paper cup was very sweet and creamy, dill pickle spear on the side. The food was pretty standard, but it was very tasty and filling. The staff here seem to be chatty with their customers and regulars here, as I noticed as I was eating my lunch.

The best French toast anywhere. Real hometown diner if there ever was one. Great local clientele. The owners run and operate the diner and you won’t find nicer people anywhere.
