I had an opportunity to try some of the desserts from The Sweet Chemist and I was blown away! Seriously some of the best cupcakes and cookies I’ve ever had. Actually, check that, because all of the good«gourmet» ones I’ve eaten had either good frosting or good cupcake but not both, these ARE the best cupcakes I’ve ever had. I was most impressed with how consistently good every part of the desserts were and how pretty they all looked before being stuffed into people’s faces. Okay so what did I actually have? A s’mores cupcake, a peach cupcake, a couple mini red-velvet cupcakes, a snickerdoodle, and a few oatmeal raisin cookies. Shut up, don’t judge me. Out of all of those, I can’t pick a favorite. Oatmeal raisin is my favorite cookie in the world, and these were amazing, soft, and with a good hit of cinnamon(I think?) that made me wish I had a purse so that I could shove a tray’s worth of cookies into it when no one is looking. The snickerdoodle was equally awesome with the perfect balance of soft and chewy. The cupcakes, though. The cupcakes are where it’s at. First of all, they all looked amazing. Every cupcake was perfectly shaped with the right amount of frosting, and all of the little designs and extras(like the s’mores cupcake, which I’ll describe in a second) gave them a lot of extra visual flair. The s’mores cupcake was my favorite of the bunch, mostly because the layers of deliciousness blew away a normal cupcake. There was a graham cracker crust, chocolate cake, marshmallow topping(I don’t think it was even frosting, just straight-up marshmallow). Going well so far. Then throw on more chocolate and more graham cracker on top and you’re doing even better. Then you notice that the marshmallow is toasted, just like a campfire would do. ANDTHEN you get to the center and find a chocolatey treat! Had to limit myself to one of these or else I would have had them all. The peach cupcake was awesome because I love peach and it had a little bit of fresh peach on top and the red-velvet cupcakes were exactly what I think of when I think of red velvet. I wish I could order a small box, like a dozen or so cookies or cupcakes. My house would always be stocked! But instead I’ll be left wishing for the next time I’ll get some sweets(and trying to get some friends together to go in on a big order in the meantime).

My wedding favors were a success! The rice krispy treats I ordered were delicious! The little bags they came in were super cute and totally matched my theme. Shaunna was really flexible with me and my schedule and made this part of my wedding planning stress free:)
