I have never left a 5 start review for a nail shop, until now. Jill is awesome! And I truly mean that. I have been going to her now for 3+ years and I have never looked back. She knows what she is doing and will do a superb job on you. She has been doing nails for 30+ years and is very knowledgeable. Her shop is extremely clean and she is very careful with making she uses new tools and nail files on every single client. She RARELY uses the electric sander/​drill and does all filing by hand. If you have been to all of these cattle call nail shops on every corner, you know they never do any filing by hand, especially if you have acrylics. She does it all by hand. She has done gels for me as well as acrylics, which I get most of the time and have never had any issues. If you are looking for a kind, knowledgeable manicurist, go see Jill. You won’t be disappointed. On top of knowing her stuff, she is one of the kindest people you will meet. I love giving local merchants my business and Jill has mine for good.

I look forward to my visits to Necessities and Jill. It is a very relaxing atmosphere and she does a great job on my nails and toes for a reasonable cost.

this charming nail salon is a hidden gem right in the heart of old town monrovia! located right inside Hot Shots Salon on Olive St. & Myrtle. Very professional and extremely cleanly! The tools and nail supplies are all clearly labeled, which is a big plus when visiting nail salons. The color selection is often updated with nothing but the best, brands such as «essie» and «opi». They do also carry Jane Iredale Mineral makeup as well so be sure to check that out!

Great place! Friendly staff and they do an excellent job on my nails. Manicures, Pedicures, Shellac… they do it all.

Jill & Kelly are the best! They are both professional, educated and carry the latest colors and nail trends. I drive 45min every two weeks to get Shellac service. Necessites also carries Jane Iredale mineral cosmetics and hand made jewelry, great for quick gift buying for the holidays. I recommend this nail salon to everyone.
