I love this place despite its problems. As roller rinks go, it’s pretty tiny, and doesn’t offer much on weeknights(unlike some other rinks in the area), but is the closest to home and convenient to Routes 15 and 25. The skating surface isn’t badly maintained, but parts of it are very scratched up, making them a bit scary if you’re trying to go fast in rental skates. The furnishings and décor are fairly new(i.e. not ’70’s throwback), and it seems to be a popular kids’ birthday party destination. If you’re looking to avoid tripping over small children, come to the Club Skate on Friday nights from 10PM to 1AM — it’s ages 16+ and clears out considerably after 11 or 11:30. The DJ pulls out some decent musical selections, but be prepared to have them interspersed with a lot of rap and hip-hop. The best part of Skate Time is the friendly staff — once you come back a few times, they will remember you, and Art, who runs the skate shop, is very helpful if you need to order parts or have something fixed.
