When someone chooses your restaurant to have a party for 40+ people, please treat them with a little bit of respect. We are choosing to come spend $ 1,500+ in your place of business, the least you can do is cater to us and make us feel semi-​welcome!
We reserved the entire patio for a party of 40, bartenders would not serve us anything, made us go through the waiter no matter what we wanted even though they usually serve drinks there. Multiple times bartenders were just standing around but we couldn’t order drinks, we had to wait for our waiter who was trying to serve 40 people. Our waiter was great and hustled, but that was the extent of it.
Restaurant didn’t have enough tables to seat 40 even though we had a reservation for that many, acted like we were ridiculous for asking for more tables.
Won’t be back to this location. Never had probs at the others when they were open.

Very good. I had the shrimp n grits appetizer. The shrimp was rolled in gritz and then sorta fried in a ball. Topped with a creamy sauce. I was actually wanting just shrimp n grits in a bowl. But it was still good. I did have to add a side of just gritz to it. The shrimp Massey (also on the appetizer menu) was also very good. A little spicy from the jalapeños ;)

Awesome! Great service and great food! Hubby had the grilled redfish, he said it was great! I ordered the Low Country shrimp and grits and it was outstanding! Honestly, the best meal I have had in a while! Looking forward to going back!

Bar staff went above and beyond to find the Rockets game for me and I love them fiercely for that. Plus, good margarita on the rocks and nice atmosphere. Dimly lit with brick walls and a huge, welcoming bar area. Asian Ahi Tuna wasn’t anything crazy-​creative but hit the spot. Also, the music selection is. Think mellower selections from SXM Alt Nation. Will return when in town.

Loved this place. My husband and I went once a week. But then they changed the menu. Removed the amazing pizza, lasagna and my favorite caprese salad. We have been back 2x in the past 6 months, and on a Saturday night they were dead. My husband had the filet which was great, but he mistakenly ordered the mac and cheese. He has never in the years I have known him return food but the mac and cheese was terrible. Their grits are amazing, if I go back I’ll probably just order them.

The fish was a tad bit salty. To add shrimp to a paste for $ 1.99 is crazy. The service was really bad. The waitress forgot EVERYTHING… drinks, napkins, ketchup etc. The location is very good. This restaurant is close to the Walmart. Overall, I’m not a fan.

This is a great local place. Good beers on tap and nice happy hour.
Food is good, just stay with the basics.
But know they have the BEST hamburgers in town!

I ate here on 9−4−13. I had the blackened catfish filet, hand-​battered & deep fried, Asiago cheese grits and sweet potato fries. Nothing about this dish was spectacular, I thought the filet was a decent size with an okay taste (use of cayenne pepper wouldn’t hurt). I don’t know what brand of Asiago cheese they use but I didn’t taste it at all in the grits. The best part of this meal was the sweet potato fries. I’m giving this place a 3 star because the service was good and the meal wasn’t bad enough for a 2 star. I may try it again in the future, but it will not be my first choice.

We waited 15 minutes to get a table, which is a good sign. At first glance of the menu I knew I should have walked out. Items like tuna, steak, catfish, all screamed uninspired. Ordered a blue moon (no southern pecan). We had the BBQ tacos and chicken skewers. Sides were… Twice baked potatoes, green beans, cheese grits, and broccoli. The skewers were unmarinated, powdered with chacheres, and dried on a grill. The BBQ tacos were overly sweet and topped with Kraft mozzarella and pickled pepperocinis. The sides were also uninspired and bland.
As a bar… I saw some of my friends’ parents and parents’ friends getting White Girl Wasted. Buzzkill.

I came here for dinner one night on a business trip, and it was okay. There was a shrip appetizer, that was simply delicious. But I do have to say that that was the best thing I put in my mouth all night.
We also had the buffalo wings, which were alright. And I have the seared tuna appetizer as my entrée. The sauce that came with it, which i swear in the description said spicy, was merely sweet. There was wasabi on the plate, but it made my food taste a bt peppermint-​y, which I am pretty sure I have never has wasabi do.
Our server, was barely around and didn’t seem to care to check up on us. Their overall menu was a bit boring, and overpriced. The décor was clean.
Overall, this is an okay place, but will not be my place of choise in the future.

I like Portico. Beer selection is a little lacking, and the wine selection is moderately good. The tuna appetizer=delicious. Gumbo is okay. The grilled chicken my favourite. Good pizza too. Great place to watch a Saints or LSU game. Great location, atmosphere and décor.

This place is a douchebag’s wet dream! Everything looks nice and is well kept, but essentially the food is boring, and the service is lacking. You will leave pissed because of the price you pay for the crap you get. If you are addicted to spray tanning and over-​priced food with fake people this is the place for you!

So, this place seemed promising. The atmosphere was pretty cool, and it looked like a great place to hang out and have a few drinks. I wasn’t too impressed with the bar selection, though. The drink selection was comparable to that of an upscale frat-​house: basic beer selections, and limited liquors.
The food was pretty good, but nothing that’s going to make me want to go back. I had the redfish, which was a little too greasy.
I recommend this place for those who drink only domestic beers and bar-​brand liquors that want to go and sit for a few drinks and light appetizers.

Nice atmosphere. Nice people. Average food. Great padio connected to the bar. Only open during good weather. Big screen TV’s at the bar. At least during the weekday the bar is the only happening place, as during high volume times the rest of the place is devoid of life.
Give it a try if your with a group of friends and like to sit around the bar.

I had dessert and dinner all in one entrée. What I intended to order was the Barbeque shrimp with lemon, garlic, Worcestershire sauce (savory) over mashed potatoes… What I got was some really sweet maple pancake syrup with some spices mixed in over lumpy mashed potatoes.
I would like to come back and try other entrees because the ambiance is really nice here. So, this may not be my final review… but for now, they should make sure their menu is accurate.
