The only thing that bugs me at this place is CASH or CHECK only. Who cares cash anymore?! Their menu has a MILLION things on it. Seriously… a million. Overall the food is good though. Be ready to wait a while if you go on the weekend… can be a popular place.

Pretty heavy on menu choices, too many, whittle it down and make the best, not the most! Service was quick and efficient to the table but then we were given to the most tired waitress ever. She forgot drinks, had everyone assist her and then gave stupid change. Stupid you ask? Yeah, if I pay with a $ 100 bill should you only give back in $ 20 bills? Tip with the coins I have in bottom of my purse? This place is not in 21st century as they don’t accept plastic but have conveniently placed their own cash machine at the the check out area… they charge a fee that they rack back… kinda snarky if you ask me. I’ve always wanted to go to this place as I had heard they won lots of fan awards… must be another location.

Been going here for 7 years, and after each visit I kind of feel like I wish I didn’t. Today it was not busy, yet we waited 5+ minutes to be seated. People coming in AFTER us we’re seated BEFORE us(grrr). When the 4 of us got to our table, there were 2 sets of flatware, and we were given 3 glasses of water, and one had a small beetle in it, that’s right, an INSECT! Took 10 minutes to get a new glass of water and my 3 year old got his juice when he was nearly done with his meal. But the food was good. They only take cash, and the tab was over $ 45 for 2 adults, child and toddler and with only 2 drinks oredered. So it’s not cheap, and might not be worth the poor service… but the food was good, which is why I reluctantly keep going back.

This is a re-review 2 years later. Just a ton of food. Be very hungry or split it. I like the Nutter Butter French Toast the best. Try it, I think you will like it. The egg dishes are good and a good variety. The Omelets are served open style which is odd, but they are good.

Average food and decent service for a reasonable price. It can get a bit crowded sometimes.

I have been to this breakfast establishment a few times and every time my friends and I walked away very full and happy. The meals are decent, the portions big and the staff very friendly. Overall it’s a good place to bring the family for a brunch and such. The only downfall is that they do NOT take credit cards… only cash or checks! …who does that these days?

Most breakfast joints don’t actually«cook» the food from scratch anymore. That is, useing basic ingredients that are prepped and eventually thrown onto a pan or the greaser. Now days it’s pretty much just heated up in some manner and put on a plate. Most of these dishes off the menu come from a Sysco or Food Services of America semi truck, pre packaged and ready to go right to the grill top or microwave. Enough of the tutorial, how is this place anyway? Food is decent. Service is excellent. in your face. We were there on a Sunday morning so that’s generally when these places go full-on with staff and politeness to the customers.(Hey, I said«generally») The menu actually IS full of about every damn egg thing you can imagine. I had the Eggs Benidict Chorizo. Yeah, I’d never heard of that version either but I gave it a go. Not bad. Hash browns were a yawn. Oreida out-of-the-bag taste. Wifey had a vegetable omellete type thing that she says was very good and not smothered inside and out with cheese. Prices are maybe the same or a touch under say, an ihops or Dennys. Two people for twenty bucks including coffee is acceptable for a sit down place. By the way, the coffee is pretty watered down. You wont get that sunday morning buzz-on from it for sure. Footnote: No credit cards or checks. Cash baby! THey DO have an ATM right there in the small lobby area for those that get taken by surprise but dont want to get back in the car and go looking someplace else.

I ate here a few weeks ago while at an event in Monroe Im not going to go into exhaustive detail, other than it was a really friendly little place. The service was pretty good, the server friendly and I really enjoyed my omelet the other folks I was with also enjoyed their meals, I would suggest giving it a try :)

This place is alright. It is your typically breakfast joint. Nothing to rave about… nothing to rant about. They don’t take credit cards which will likely cause me to never eat there again… unless it is free. I liked the one in Lynnwood waaayyyyy better! They had something to rave about. Looks like it closed for some reason though, not sure why they were always slammed. This one is better than the Chuckwagon location in Everett. That place is r-o-u-g-h!

Yay, Patty’s Eggnest, for having my very favorite breakfast on your menu! Trout and eggs. And OH, is it delicious! I brought my mom here for this very breakfast when she was visiting from out of state, and she loved it also. The trout is an entire fillet, or half of the fish, perfectly cooked and so super fresh, you’d think they caught it that morning out of a local lake. The eggs are whites or egg beaters when I order, and they always accomodate me and they always taste good. The hash browns they serve with it are delicious! Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. And that is really my yardstick for a breakfast joint is their potatoes. I am working up an appetite just thinking about this. The other items they serve, such as the pancakes and waffles, are really good too, as my carb-loving family members can attest to. :) Getting used to cash only has been a bit of an adjustment — in spite of the fact that it’s clearly posted on the door, I have to run across the parking lot to the ATM because paying cash just isn’t a habit. But it’s worth it. A little extra walk to work off that breakfast(ooops! I ate the whole thing!!)

Went to Patty’s this morning after a long hiatus. The food was fresh and well prepared. The service was friendly; however, it was a bit slow due to the large number of customers filling the place. I’ve been there a number of times, and when it is not busy, the food arrives quickly. Patty’s menu is typical of other breakfast menus: many egg dishes, scrambles, pancakes, waffles, etc… Simple and satisfying is how I would describe the food. Other reviewers have indicated their meal was greasy; I have not encountered that before. My food has always been fresh and delicious. This morning I tried the Nutter Butter French Toast, and it was great. It consisted of a lightly golden batter encasing two pieces of toast with peanut butter in the middle. It was served with maple syrup, a fresh banana, and real whip cream(not too sweet). I also had a side of biscuits and gravy, and the gravy was thick and chunky with sausage. For a breakfast restaurant like Patty’s, three stars would be the highest I would give because the food is simple. They do it right, and that’s important, but for a breakfast to earn more than three stars the food has to be more interesting.(For an example of a five star breakfast establishment, check out Medina Café in Vancouver, B.C.) I will definitely return to Patty’s anytime I’m craving a delicious, hearty breakfast.

We met with some family members there on a Saturday. A bunch of Harley bikers were already in the place. Hey, can’t be too bad if the bikers like it right? We were wrong. It took a while to seat our large party as the bikers took up all of the large tables. No fault of the restaurant, so no beef. What I did have a beef with was the food. I haven’t had eggs this overlooked since I last ate in a college cafeteria. I mean, I think it actually would some effort to over cook a poached egg as mine. Add that to the fact that they don’t take credit cards really puts this at the bottom of my list. I’d rather go to Denny’s first.

I go into this restuarant several times a month for the breakfast they have there. I have never had a bad meal here. It’s very clever, they have each of the wait staff create their own reciepe for a scrambled egg plate or omelet and named it after themselves. You have to try the«katalina scramble»…oh my gawd was that tastey! It has an italian flare to it and will make you want more. Kathy did a great job on the mixures of fresh basil, parmesan cheese, sundried tomatoes and spinach. The kicker was the pepperoni slices that were mixed in and it was cooked to perfection. The wait staff is great and very attentive. I will recommend this place to everyone. If you can stand a spicey breakfast, check out Bek’s scramble plate… wow is it warm!

That was a forgettable breakfast to say the least. There is still a coat of butter/grease in my mouth. My coffee was horribly watered down an those may have been the worst hash browns I’ve ever had. I’ll give it two stars because my scramble tasted ok going down, but the after taste won’t go away…

I actually have a soft spot for this place. The people have always been very warm and friendly to us. The take Microsoft Prime and have meal punch cards. The portions are large. They fresh squeeze the orange juice. The coffee is weak but the biscuts and gravy are good. My kids love it. They are packed on the weekends. There is a good chance of a long wait but on a lazy Sat or Sun who cares. We usually get some Starbucks and buy some previously viewed DVDs next door with the wait time.

It’s not remarkable but it will do for breakfast. How much can you really change breakfast food anyways? I would choose this place over Denny’s, and I think that can sum up my review!

Food is typical breakfast food! It’s good, but not great. Service is slow, and I usually have to sit and wait for a seat on weekend mornings. Portions are really big, you won’t leave hungry.

Avoid the Eggnest. Service is spotty, the food is greasy and not cooked all that well. I cannot even recommend a basic eggs over easy. The ones I’ve gotten were either over or under cooked — by a long shot. Their coffee is bad as well. Alas, with the downfall of Papa Mia’s and Wicked Baking, I’m not aware of a decent place for breakfast in Monroe. Instead, I’d suggest the Maltby Café.

For Monroe, this is a pretty decent café. The food is good(although sometimes a little extra greasy), the prices are decent(approx $ 7/person) and the portions are HUGE. There are a number of other locations around Seattle, but I have only been to this one. Its generally not very busy. The only downside is they close at 3pm everyday.
