The food was delicious, the staff recommendations where right on. The place was a mess though. We ordered a sausage and pepperoni pizza and cheese sticks and it was hot, fresh and yummy. I will return when I’m back in Louisiana but I’ll get it to go.

I ordered pizza from Johnnys based on positive Unilocal reviews, after spending almost 60 dollars on two medium and one small pie that I might has well have flushed the money down the drain. This was the most bland and flavorless pizza I have had in a long time, I should have bought Dominos and I don’t even like dominoes. This was a real disappointment.

This place is disgusting. There wasn’t a single clean table in the place, and they weren’t even busy. The floors look like they haven’t been swept or mopped in a week. Most of the napkin dispensers on the table were empty. There were dirty rags under the drink table. I noticed that our cheese sticks were ready. I went to the counter to get them and the guy at the front who took our order refused to give them to us. He said he would bring them out if they were ours. What the. We were the only ones waiting on a dine in order. Of course they were ours. I didn’t even feel comfortable eating the food, the place was so gross and the employees so rude.

Johnny’s Pizza is a Louisiana tradition. It’s something that people dream of after they move away! Thin, soft, slightly sweet crust that is cut into 1″ strips. Quality ingredients and some creative pizzas including «Sweep the Swamp», a Cajun twist on the sweep the kitchen!

I am reluctant to admit that the first time I tried Johnny’s, I was mystified by everyone’s obsession with this pizza. My entire set of Louisiana in-​laws along with the whole population of Monroe raves about this place. In fact, I was a little afraid to to tell anyone that I thought it was just «ok». When I did, I was met with cold stares and not a little hostility, and I daresay the husband was rethinking his choice of wifey.
I am happy to say that I have since revised my very, very wrong opinion. Certainly they sprinkle crack on this pie. I not only like it; I CRAVE it. Sweep the Kitchen on original crust. That’s all you really need to know.
