Baby Cakes

REALLY disappointed. I bought a herald net daily deal coupon LAST YEAR (9÷29÷11 to be exact) and before I could even redeem it, someone from the company (the owner I assume) posted a statement saying they lost a baker or something to that effect, but not to worry, the coupon would still be valid. I waited… and waited… and kept checking back… I even posted asking when they think they’d be back.
I heard nothing back. NOTHING. There’s no way to contact them — their web page is down (for good I think), and I’m guessing they just up and closed shop. Going to try and get my money back but won’t hold my breath.

I purchased the amazon local deal and picked up two dozen cupcakes a couple of weeks ago. It was a little strange picking them up from the owners house but they were delicious. They were very moist and the frosting was very tasty. I would definitely recommend them!

I first found out about Baby Cakes from Living Social, and then noticed her on Face Book after a friend of mine posted about her cravings boxes.
Molly offers a choice of many flavors, you choose one flavor in either a dozen cupcakes, two dozen mini cupcakes, or a Cravings box, which are a selection of 4 flavors that she changes every week. It is a great way to sample them.
She doesn’t have a store front, but she was easy to find. The cupcakes came in beautiful packaging with pretty ribbon. The cupcakes are supported nicely in the packaging.
I have to say, as far as cupcakes go, they are PERFECT. They are not obscenely huge. Unlike other cupcakes, she puts a filling inside
(and it isn’t more icing like I’ve seen some places do). I believe they have the perfect ratio of cake to filling to icing. The cake was moist, the fillings were yummy and the icing was’t too much (some cupcakes have too much icing and it takes away from the cupcake) and had a great flavor (as opposed to sweet but tasteless –these had flavor and great texture!). The garnishes compliment and really seal in the over all flavor of the cupcake. She packages them in lovely boxes, with great supports inside so they are very stable, all wrapped up in pretty pink ribbon. Very classy and pretty.
I am already planning what events to take these delicious morsels to, they are perfect and tasty and unique from other cupcakes i’ve tried. They are definately a quality product. You try them too and taste the difference!

I’m so glad that there isn’t a store front for Baby Cakes because I would be there every day after dropping the kids off at daycare down the street.
We participated in their promotion via Facebook and just had our first pick up last night of four different flavored cupcakes. They were amazing!
The cake was very well done with a soft tight crumb that holds together and has great flavor. I was really (pleasantly) surprised after cutting into them to share with my wife that they held together and seemed so delicate in my hand and in my mouth. They were nicely moist throughout and had perfect shape. The tops were slightly rounded and the cake pulled away from the wrapper without a problem.
The cake sold me, but the frosting put it over the top. It seems like an Italian buttercream, light and airy like a meringue or foam with excellent flavor. I really loved the chocolate frosting. The Chai Latte’s frosting could have been a little sweeter, but still had great flavor.
I’m already jonesing for the next pick up.
