Food is great! They need to redecorate badly I think they’d make twice the money because the food is fantastic! Just not nice enough for date night or a meeting

My sisters and I had the Greek Salad. Mom had the calzone. We all shared the Greek potatoes. It was all very yummy and fresh. The place seemed pretty authentic. Definitely a nice addition to the area. I would come back to try one of the kababs or souvlaki because they looked great. I wish they posted their menu on the internet so I could study it before I got there or order a take-​out ahead of time.

The initial impression is that the place is together somewhat shabbily. However, the tables each have a nice little centerpiece, and there are other touches that show someone cared. However, this is overwhelmed by what appear to be efforts to save money, but and up making the place appear as though it’s on it’s last leg.
Duct tape to hold the booths together, and the menus corrected with hello my name is stickers, along with the mightiest sin of a restaurant that serves french fries, hunts ketchup.
This all being said when the food came out, it was very nice. The falafel pizza was well put together, with fresh ingredients. The dolma were hot, which was a surprise, but they were tasty.
A little more attention to the environment, along with this great food, and probably some better marketing, and this place would do well. Unfortunately, it appears as though they are trying to save their way to a profit… Which never works.

Hey fellow foodies, I had lunch at this place a few weeks ago, I had a gyro, it was very good. The décor was nice. The tables looked OK I thought the food was fine for the value. It did not totally wow me but hey, I am fortunate to be able to eat at some of the finest places in metro Atlanta. That doesn’t mean expensive. This place is a safe bet for lunch. Nice place good food.

Athens Grill is G.O.A.T. I will be coming back here any time I’m in Monroe. They Gyros are great! The Pizza Turnover was really tasty too. Everyone should come here and tell their friends about this place. I know I’m going to tell all my friends about the Athens Grill. The people who work here are super friendly which is a big plus to me.

Just the best food in Monroe. This place is great, authentic Greek food from an authentic Greek family.
Nicest people, comfortable booths, outside dining, and did I mention the delicious food?
The gyros are great, the pastas are divine, and Alexander himself couldn’t get better kebabs or baklava anywhere in the world.
I can’t recommend this place or their food highly enough.

A decent gyro with a bit too much lettuce filler. Curly fries were fresh but could have been cooked a bit longer for a better crisp and improve their anemic color. Ample seating including a side walk option, but torn seats repaired with tape, scuffed baseboards, wall smudges, and decrepit bathrooms gives it a slight dirty feel. When my wife asked for her salad dressing on the side, the (owner?) gave a blunt and deadpan «no.» From additional interactions with us and other customers it appears to have been an attempt at humor, since they did put her dressing on the side.

Good gyros, great service and many good suggestions from the chef/​cashier! I ordered a super gyro combo and it arrived hot and delicious. This place has many great options to choose from and if you are in the area and craving Greek/​Mediterranean then this is the place to be.

I’ve had lunch there a couple of times in the last month or so, each time having their lunch special Gyro. Staff was friendly, food a bit slow coming out. Both times the Gyro was excellent, fresh and tasty. Fries were typical frozen/​fried variety that I don’t really like that much (I always wish for fresh cut potato fries which are so much better). I like the place and will be back.

First experience was a takeout order that was okay. Thought we would give it a second try and have it fresh in the restaurant. The food quality wasn’t much better and the service was terrible. The guy taking and preparing our order at the counter didn’t get off his phone or acknowledge us with a hello or nod. There are plenty of other places to spend your $ 20 for lunch. We will continue to drive an hour and go to Tavas in Conyers, GA for our Greek fix!

Went back for a second meal because we were so pleased the first time… Noticed the Health Rating was an 81. We always pay attention to those when possible. I ordered the special which was chicken kabobs. When they cam to the table they were RAW on the inside. Sent them back. They cooked me a new meal and it was okay but nothing to write home about. They sent over a desert as a compensation for what could have been a sudden weight loss plan from consumed raw chicken. My husband wasn’t thrilled with his meal at all. It was such a disappointment after a promising first meal, but the empty restaurant should have been a clue. Sorry to trash them in a review, but it will be the last time we go back.

Let’s hope Monroe appreciates this restaurant, excellent gyro, but if you want to get crazy try the Souvlaki steak, it’s a Philly on a pita, and it is superb. The falafel wrap Is interesting in a good way. My 18 year old son is hooked on this place
