The bagels are kind of crappy to be honest. I mean I would say they qualify for the threshold of being considered a NY/NJ Bagel, but this far away from New York City this is definitely on the geographical border of where you can get a good bagel. Texture of the bagel is fine it just has that thing going on where the bottom half of the bagel kind of flattens out. Biggest problem with this bagel is that the hole is huge and the hole of a bagel is not supposed to be that big unless you’re eating one those jokes they call a bagel in Montréal. The reason this place redeems itself is for it’s breakfast sandwiches. If the contents of their bacon egg and cheese, taylor ham egg and cheese etc… were on one of the better bagels in the metropolitan area, then this place would push 4.5−5 stars. Hash browns are delicious(I always get the heavy breakfast sandwich with hash browns, sausage, bacon, egg, cheese anywhere I go). Meat is great too and the egg is tasty. One issue is that they have what looks like Kraft singles that they slap on each side of the bagel and do not melt beforehand they seem to let the heat of the other contents of the sandwich melt it. However, it must be some other sort of sliced cheese because the cheese does taste good the thought of them not melting the cheese before hand just irks me a little bit. Staff is friendly service is pretty good.

Great customer service and a friendly staff. Too bad the bagels here aren’t very good. I live just two blocks from this shop, yet go out of my way to the Bagel Bazaar in Spotswood or on Englishtown Rd for a much better and flavorful bagel. The coffee here is just ok.

If I had to choose between here and Bagel Bazaar I would choose the latter. Why? Because they can get your order fast & smoothly without wasting your time. While at the camelot bagel shoppe I had to wait several minutes before someone decided to ask me what I wanted, then I had to wait for them to «make it.» They need to junk their computerized order system.

The new owners of Camelot Bagel Shoppe maintain the previous tradition of quality bagels. The new interior is great, and its so continent to get boar’s head cold cuts so close to home
