Sonesta ES Suites South Brunswick – Princeton

Roaches!!! Baby ones and adults! In the kitchen and bedroom. It’s a big room but roaches are a sign of not being clean and can crawl into the luggage and be brought home to my personal space. Where I come from roaches are a sign of health issues and can carry diseases.

WARNING IF YOU STAY HERE TAKE PICTURES OF YOUR ROOM AND YOUR GARBAGE BEFORE LEAVING IF YOU DONT WANT TO GET CHARGED!!!
I just got back from my stay at Sonesta ES in South Brunswick and if there was an option to give no stars I would! I had THE WORST OVERNIGHT STAY at this hotel. My boyfriend and I decided to get a little overnight get away when we arrived the young lady at the front desk was nice and had us a sign a non smoking agreement. We signed without hesitation because neither of us smoke. When we got to our room it was nice but the sheets and towels were dirty in the upstairs room. We decided to check the bed sheets downstairs and since we wanted to make the best of our trip we just took the bed with the clean sheets instead with no complaints. We came prepared with some cold cuts and beer because we’ve stayed at other Sonestas and have never had ANY Problems we love making use of the kitchen. There was work being done on the hotel early Sunday morning right outside my room I wake up early so that wasn’t too much of a bother but it was kind of annoying because it was very loud banging on the wall. So fast forward to our ride home I decided to see if the $ 20 deposit was still pending usually I get it back the day of check out. To my surprise I had a charge of $ 230 in addition to the $ 20 charge. So I called immediately thinking maybe there was a mixup where they charged us for the room even though it was already paid for. When I spoke to Sherri I was told I was being charged for smoking because «housekeeping found evidence of smoking in the room» I was taken aback BECAUSE NEITHER OF US SMOKE! I asked that the manager speak to housekeeping again because I’m 10 000% sure there’s a mix up. I have severe asthma and can’t tolerate any type of smoking around me so I know for a fact that wasn’t our garbage. The manager then told me she would send a picture of our garbage can with the evidence. When we received the picture it was CLEARLY NOT our garbage there was a carton of cigarettes, what looks like a pocket knife? And some papers from an alcohol anonymous. It wasn’t our garbage. The manager then explained to me that because the head of house cleaning said that was our garbage there’s nothing that can be done. So Im now being charged for some made up accusations and have NO WAY OF EVEN DEFENDING MYSELF! IM DISGUSTED! This is how you treat customers??? I now had to file a formal complaint with their corporate office. And WILL NOT DROP THIS ISSUE!!! Im waiting for them to contact me back but hopefully corporate will be able to get to the bottom of this issue because as of right now I’m absolutely appalled with Sonesta, their nonsense rules and their customer service I will NEVER GO BACK TO THAT HOTEL AND SERIOUSLY WOULD SUGGEST YOU TAKE PICTURES IF YOU DO DECIDE TO RISK IT AND STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!

*I have stayed at the other Sonesta a dozen times and tried this new one out, it is a converted Residence Inn
*The property is clean and has a pool and workout room as well as the complimentary breakfast, service was nice too
*Knocks are the breakfast was just insanely packed for 2 hours, as in, a line for everything not that the food is very good but just hard to get something
*Other knock is the walls, I think they are made out of paper maiche, you can hear absolutely everything
