We tried Beach Tavern last night hoping to get some fresh seafood. The restaurant is beautiful and even though it is February the view was so pretty. However, the food was just average and the waitress was indifferent. We ordered two flounders stuffed with crabmeat. I thought it was watery and it had little flavor. They serve it with plain roasted potatoes which were good, but no veggie or garnish to brighten up this bland plate. Someone else ordered a burger which he said was very good, but he ordered it medium and it was definitely medium rare if that. The restaurant was relatively empty because we went early, but I could not find our waitress to refill my drink, get salt and pepper, or pull the blind down because the sun was shining in my eyes. I believe this place has hope with summer approaching because the view and location are great, maybe they would do better serving a more casual menu and tropical drinks?

I had ordered the New England clam chowder it had no clams or even the taste of clam. It wasn’t bad but if I wanted a fish soup I would have ordered that, It was not chunky as with a New England clam chowder it was very small bits of fish, carrots and some green things. They were too small to tell what they were., and was watery not thick and creamy like you would have thought. I also ordered the shrimp scampi which read as, it had lemon, white wine and a splash of cream. Well the cream took over and it was more like a shrimp Alfredo. Still eatable but was not a shrimp scampi by no means. The fresh fish is wonderful everyone at our table loved it. You really need to describe the dishes correctly. There is no mistake New England Clam Chowder is just that as the same with shrimp scampi. These are not hard dishes to make correctly. If you want to put your own spin on a dish write it in the description. I left disappointed!

Wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff, reasonable portions, delish food! Next time we come we will have to order the calamari and the chicken wings. Lots of TVs in the bar. It will be great in the summer.

This was a terrible restaurant. It’s very expensive for what you get and the food wasn’t prepared well at all. I had dinner here on a Saturday night with a friend of mine, and I had a tofu entrée and she had scallops and broccoli. The scallops were just mediocre and the broccoli was burnt. My dish was very sparse with hardly any food. Add two glasses of wine(nothing special) and the bill was $ 100. Oh, and the server was very annoying and kept asking us if she could take our check. I will never go back.

Amaizing restaurant by the sea… The hostess was very nice and pleasant, she gave us a table immediately and came by after to ask how we doing. SErver was also very nice and attentive, beautiful blonde girl :) Ambience is also very cozy and comfortable even its very elite restaurant and maybe a little bit expensive but worth for the money. Calamari and buffalo wing are the best i have ever had. Definitely recommend !!! :)

Had lunch here recently, the place is pretty n bright but we both ordered scallops over pasta and i think we got ONE scallop each! They thinly sliced it which totally changed the way a scallop tastes. Not worth 16.00 per meal for lunch!!!

Would not go back to Beach Tavern. Took family for a birthday dinner the night after Christmas when the restaurant was only about 25% filled, and the kitchen staff could not get it right. The birthday dinner was ruined as the deserts were all served with a single candle slopped in the desert, no candle lit, and no happy birthday singing was possible. There was only one birthday. Not every person at the table. I called the restaurant to remind about the birthday celebration, again mentioned to the hostess upon arrival, and again jumped from chair to remind the waitress after ordering desert. The waitress did not pay attention at all when the kitchen staff botched the birthday desert. The added insult was there was no apology from anyone for ruining the birthday moment and the manager simply took the deserts off the bill thinking this made it right. When I explained what happened the manager was annoyed at me. Well you cannot recreate the moment ruined and the staff did not even try. We were ignored. I eat in restaurants regularly and the food was over salty and pricey for what us offered. The waitress was smart and hard working which is the only positive comment. Would not recommend wasting your time or money eating here. I was sadly disappointed as really looked forward to the dinner.

I love the food here and especially the atmosphere. The décor is new and clean which is a breath of fresh air on the Jersey shore and the outside dining has a nice water view. They have some unique appetizers and the entrees consistently deliver good quality. Service can be slow but the biggest con in my opinion is the price. My dining companion and I like to sample a couple appetizers and desserts in addition to our entrees, and the price really adds up quickly here! If it was more reasonably priced we’d dine here frequently.

We had our Christmas party here and both the food and service were excellent. The Salmon was cooked perfectly and short ribs had tons of flavor. On a seperate occasion I had the scallop scampi with homemade pasta, again excellent. You can’t go wrong whatever the event.

Went here for restaurant week and was not disappointed. I had the calamari app to start and was thinking it was going to be a personal portion but it was a full portion. It was awesome, i could’ve eaten just that and been satisfied. I had the pork milanese which was the size of a dinner plate. It was so good and crispy and the salad on top was the perfect compliment to cut through the rich pork. I wish i could’ve finished it the whole thing but it made for a good sandwich the next day. Saw there was some prime steaks on the menu so definitely want to try that next time.

I give the restaurant 1 star for their beautiful view, but the view does not make up for its bad food. Ive given this restaurant way too many shots. Every time im forced to go with relatives i try dishes that are safe, and they even manage to mess those dishes up. Some of the dishes were not only unsatisfactory, but terrible. I will never be going back. Even after the menu change, the meals still prove to be disappointing. Some inedible.

This might be my new favorite place in Monmouth County! The view of the marina is beautiful… it also makes you feel like a peasant since you realize you can’t afford most of those boats/yachts, yet they’re fun to look at and it gives you a chance to day dream. The food speaks for itself. I had the shrimp fra diavolo with squid ink pasta(pasta was homemade), and the sauce was on point. Aside from the pasta we also had the pork milanese, tempura cauliflower, and the tuna tartare. Everything was amazing — in my opinion it’s an excellent restaurant all around.

Despite being a nice afternoon weather wise, we went inside for a couple hours. What an interesting bar!!! All white inside… a great space. Glad we found it. A nice twist from a dark bar. Only had drinks and appetizer. Shrimps, clams and oysters. All served very well. Tremendous bartender with great service. Happy hour from 3 to 6. Check it out. The music could be changed however.

A great meal all around. Rich, our server, was slow to warm up, but charming and personable once he did, and quick with a recommendation. My table mates and I had a «something of everything» mentality — we had at least one thing from every part of the menu. Everything was super-fresh and very well prepared, from the flavors to the presentation. Everyone NEEDS to be ordering the barbecue oysters — SO amazingly delicious and unique. I almost ordered a second plate, just so I wouldn’t have to share. Entrees were fantastic, too. I had the bolognese, which was easily one of the top-three preparations I’ve had in my life.

Finally a place where the Chef cares. I haven’t had a meal in NJ like I did last night. Everything was perfected, if you are ever there and the special Tuna«pizza» is available, order it because it blew my taste buds away. Even something so simple as the organic buffalo wings tasted soooo good. Thank you so much Chef for a wonderful meal & thank you Trish for the amazing service.

I’ve been here twice, and both times I felt all facets of my experience at Beach Tavern was average. It is a beautiful restaurant and the ambiance is quite nice. Unfortunately, they really need to get it together in the kitchen. High prices and average food, buyer beware.

Overpriced and the food is mediocre. I came here for my sisters birthday because she really wanted homemade pasta. Figured we’d try it, but I’m so disappointed that we didn’t just make this $ 25 pasta dish at home. We ordered the carbonara and orecchiette. SALTY as all hell! Does anyone try the dish before it comes out? Holy mackerel! I could’ve salted an entire pig with the amount of salt in the carbonara. Then the orecchiette was supposed to be in white wine, which we figured would be a lighter dish. The dish tastes like wine as they did not let it cook off, and came out in a thick gooey brown sauce-umm white wine sauce? The only positive was the pasta was cooked Al dente, bravissimo. We’re both Italian, so we know a thing or two about cooking. My grandma would be highly disappointed in your sauce. Another disappointment was that the manager was pacing back and forth and watched our food go back to the kitchen. You would think he would stop and apologize… Oh wait, he just did as I sit here typing this review. He brought us his favorite toffee pudding… which tasted like crap. I was really rooting for this place, but I miss the old Sallie Tee’s.

The food is mediocre at best and expensive. I do not think they are doing as well as they first thought. You could pass on this place and never look back.
