Not terrible as far as Walmart goes, but do you have to have the heat set on hell at all times? The selection is a lot better than Chippewa but they’re also ten times more packed and there’s never more than 3 lanes open at a time so it’s kind of one of those lose lose situations lol!

My goodness has this location gone wayyyyy down hill. The only thing that it has going for it is the location. This Walmart is centrally located near all of the Monaca/Center shopping, including the Beaver Valley Mall. I had not been here for probably six years but stopped in here several times over the past few weeks to pick up stuff for an upcoming party. First, this place is always packed. Always, no matter what time of the day or night. This is not a problem of course, until you get to the check out lines. The lines were 5 or 6 customers deep. One time we walked all the way down to the other end of where we were parked because the lines seemed shorter. Well unfortunately we were stuck behind two women fighting with the poor cashier over her food stamps. I spotted a manager and said, «We have been waiting for a good 10 – 12 minutes while these customers argue, can you please open the next aisle and check us out?» She replied, «I just called someone to get some more help up front.» Then she scurried away. You are a manager, roll up your sleeves and help out while you wait for backup. The store is never well stocked. Two separate times I had to find a shopper tall enough and ask them to get me the last item located on the top shelf all the way in the back. I had to ask shoppers because employees were no where in site. Or if I did spot someone, they were having a conversation with a customer that they knew… not a conversation about where to find a product… a personal, lengthy conversation. The only saving grace were the actual checkout attendants. They were polite and courteous. Any rational customer could tell they must have a herculean amount of patience to work there. Avoid this store if possible, but then again… they have the location.

I’m shocked that I haven’t reviewed this Wal-Mart until now. Essentially, it sucks to shop here, like a jellyfish on a fat man’s bare calf. I hate Wal-Mart to begin with, but the one in Chippewa embarrasses this Monaca location. It’s simply scaled down considerably, and unlike the Chippewa store, the employees are obviously miserable. Can you blame them?

Composite. Lots of visits, but I am new to Unilocal so it shows only a few checkins. Another Walmart that is large, inclusive of a thousand items. Great parking; decent lot though the management really needs to figure out where their employees can smoke — not outside in the front as customers are coming/going for shopping. An older store by the way. Another major one is coming online about 3 miles away… interesting. My only complaint is that Walmart doesn’t want to open the registers — namely they are always understaffed. Of course this is to force people to check out themselves, bag themselves, and probably talk to themselves when the checkout machines do not work. In fairness I’ve had much better service at the self-checkout in Walmart than anytime ever in a Giant Eagle. My scoring reflects the consistent lack of adequate staff in the checkout lines,. I have had good service and help from store associates when one can find them. Parking lot comment — yes, a few trees would be nice in the lot!!! f8 and be there.

Watch battery replacement for 5.95 here. That’s what the sign said. So I stood at the Jewelry counter for 15 minutes until I decided to hunt down an employee for help. After finding an employee, she then paged someone and then minutes later someone came to our rescue. This is when we were asked if we purchased the watch at Wal Mart. When we said no she noted she could not help us. I wouldn’t be so upset, but I had a Fossil watch battery replaced at Wal Mart before. Maybe they should add a disclaimer on their sign about Wal Mart watches only. Who replaces a battery in a watch they purchased at Wal Mart? Nothing in the case was over 20 dollars. Is it even worth it to get a new battery if you are getting the watch at such a bargain price?

I’m a big fan of walmart stores. However I live in south florida and the stuff are horrible down here, but in PA, this is a fabulous store. Maybe it’s cause it holds my American dream. When I lived in London, and would visit my family in this region, we would make our trip to Walmart so I can stock up on my cheap American good with my sister and her kids. I’ve had several water fights in the sinks in the toilets at this locations… and never got kicked out for it. ha ha All and all, great value for money! My family does all their grocery shopping at this location for one reason… value for money!
