Lackluster. This particular location feels very very drab. Not much can be said about this location. Same selection, same pricing, and same types of employees that you can find at any JCP. It is in total need of remodel, but I doubt that will happen anytime soon since they are in a bit of a slump in the sales area. Add to that the fact that this location isn’t all that great to begin with. If you come to the mall it’s worth a stop, but not worth a trip out here just for this store.

Composite Review. I have been to Penney’s more times than I can count. The chain store remains an excellent source of men’s clothing. One can shop the very deep discounts at the change of seasons and find stunning bargains — $ 60 men’s slacks for $ 20 for example. The secret is to buy for the –next– season. Service has been fine always; customer associates helpful and friendly. f8 and be there.

iPhones in the workplace. They are all over the place now. The best example of how they work is at an Apple store. They ring you up, you sign on the iPhone using your finger, and they email you the receipt. This breathtaking how seamless the process is. Then there are the other businesses trying to accomplish the same thing. JcPenney is one of them. My cashier rung out the person in front of me the old way. Scanned the stuff and then sent the customer on their way in only a minute. Then it was my turn. She got out the iPhone and after fumbling with it for over 4 minutes trying to scan my three items, she then got to the total. When she scanned my credit card through she struggled, beat the iPhone on the counter, slid the card through ten times, before she finally got it to work. Afterwards she claimed she never used a credit card like mine in the iPhone(MasterCards must be rare in the Beaver Valley area). I am all for technology in the workplace but when it takes 8 minutes to ring through three items someone as to look at the productivity in the work place and realize that it is a bad idea.
