We were looking for a place to eat after driving 4 hours and didn’t want to get back into the car so we walked across the parking lot from our hotel to this place. We looked at the menu and saw pierogi hoagie and that said we need to go here. It was located in the mall and wasn’t sure if it would be good or not. Well we were in the area to go to the us open and they had tvs for the guys and live music on the patio but they had the door open so it was a win win. The menu is really good and had some interesting names. They had an extensive list of brews and you can even purchase beer to go. Everything we ordered was delicious. The homemade fries were so good. The pierogi hoagie was 3 meals in one. Could be shared by 2. My steak hoagie was actual steak that was cooked to perfection. My husband ordered a hamburger brunch style. He loves his eggs with a burger. Even though we couldn’t finish our meals we ordered dessert. The banana cream pie cake was so good. And the limeade cheese cake was so good and creamy. And the beers the guy drank were so good. Great flavors! So if you are in monaca pa or staying at the hampton inn take a walk to bocktown great food and ambiance.

Absolutely a horror story! Three to four staff working, no manager. Ordered drinks and appetizers only for them to BOTH come out 20+ minutes later. Beers were warm. Food took about an hour. Food was great. Can’t really complain there. Service was slow. Bills were so fucked up. I think the waiter«who’s pre-med» needs drug tested. Took our orders, got them right yet came back to ask us what we got for our bill. Four corrections later and still fucked up. We had a table of 11 total. Five on one check, six on other. Charged my bill for 18% gratuity but not other party. Blamed the system. Blamed breaker and chiller issues on warm beer. Don’t serve then! No one wants a warm draft. This is not England. Waiter lost temper and walked away. Restaurant was nearly empty the entire night and now I see why. No management oversight, and a terrible system. Horribly overpriced. Worst customer service I’ve experienced ever. Avoid at all cost. I would give this place zero stars if possible. Seriously, stop wasting money here and let them fail.

The good was OK. But WTF with the lack of prices being listed where a customer can see them? I felt as if I was tricked when I saw my bill! There was no listed price for either the dessert(no-one that I could find) not for the cooler beer I had brought to my table. $ 6.50 for a below average, 12oz pilsner? Really? Had I noticed the price iNEVER would have asked for it. Same goes for the dry piece of cheesecake I had. $ 6.99! All I are for dinner was a small bowl of chili and an artichoke dip. The bill was $ 27 bucks? Never again will I go back. That is the punishment for not prominently showing prices on their most overpriced items.

Delicious food with great portions and creative varieties. 4 stars for the food only. Friendliness of servers is dependent on the day. Some are nicer than others but I’ve been here 3 times now and have never been disappointed with my meal. However my friends meal cost $ 9 one trip. She put in a $ 10 and a $ 5 and asked for change. The waitress didn’t bring her back change nor did she return at all(not even into the dining room) after giving me my card back. It was fairly clear she knew she didn’t intentionally receive a 66% tip and to top it off she got our order wrong the first round and was very grumpy. If she was nice we could have shrugged it off but it almost made me not want to return. Nonetheless the food was delicious but if I have her as a waitress again I will not hesitate to leave.

What a disappointment! Great lineup of beers but don’t eat here! Asked server what was best thing on menu-her response was«I don’t know». So I rephrased what do you sell the most of, she said people like the burgers. Than she explained a special burger the Italian burger as a «burger with lunch meat on it». I told her it was not lunch meat but hot capicolla is a spiced Italian cured ham. We ordered a burger which was $ 17.95 «really» Iit was to be half pound grass fed beef-I don’t think it was half pound and I ate only half, it was very greasy! Also has the kolbassi, pierogi sandwich– had to disect the sandwich and tear the inedible skin off the kolbassi. Fries were semi warm and greasy. Total bill for 1 soft drink, 2 beer a, 1 fries, 2 Sandwivh was $ 47! No wonder the place was almost empty-awefulful and expensive! We won’t be back!

Overall, usually a nice experience. LOTSANDLOTS of beer on tap. And more in bottles. Growlers are sold to take home, if you find one you like. The«Beltch» sandwich is awesome! Basically a BLT plus egg and cheese. So good, in fact, that we started making it at home. Their Italian bread is ok, but an upgrade to Mancini’s rye would be a welcome addition. Other menu items are pretty good, although the entrée choices are horribly overpriced. They also offer myriad toppings for fries(probably 20 or so), but they were so salty as to be almost inedible. If the salt was purposeful– to sell more beer– what a mistake. Probably wont be back.

We tried to go to Bocktown last night. There were a total of less than 10 customers in the entire bar. We waited at the bar to order drinks, and the bartender told us that they would be right with us. After 10 minutes, the bartender came over to tell us there were a few drafts not available, then walked away from us to talk to a co-worker without taking our order. For as empty as it was, to not even take our order after 10 minutes is unacceptable, so we walked out. The selections had promise, but the customer service was horrendous.

I’d like to leave a great review about the food but we didn’t eat here. We left. At the door, there is a sign that says«parties of 8 or more will be one check and 18% gratuity added.» We had a party of 8 and I asked the hostess if we could separate the check because 2 of our party needed to pay separately(corporate trip, expense reports, etc.) and if that could. It be done, we’d glad separate into 2 groups of 4. She said we could split it up, just let the server know. The server comes and says she can’t do it. Restaurant policy. Would we like to speak to the manager? Yes. Manager comes and says the same thing. She says it’s the rules, she has to follow them. I couldn’t believe as the manager of a restaurant she couldn’t make an exception in order to keep the business. So because they couldn’t split a party of 8 into 6, 1 and 1 they were willing to lose a couple of hundred dollars of business, which we kindly pointed out to her. So we left. But she was gracious enough to recommend another restaurant for us to take our business to. Mind. Blow!

Walk in at 9:15pm, and according to the web they are open until midnight. Informed upon arrival that tonight is the first night they close at 10pm. There is only one other customer in the entire place. Beer — I order a session IPA from the beer list — out. No biggie. Find a nice American IPA and we’re good. I ordered two more during my visit. Food — I had a killer bout of heartburn last night so I’m looking for something mild. Panko chicken with potatoes and veggies fits the bill. Asked whether the side salad was fru-fru lettuce, and I was assured it wasn’t. It arrived looking like the pile of weeds I pull from my garden, garnished with only stuff I dislike. I pick aside the stuff that scratches my mouth and forge on. I asked for a side of shredded cheddar so I was eating something other than just lettuce, and they obliged and sneakily charged me a dollar for it. Panko chicken arrives with mashed potatoes and zucchini with some mild, flavorless sauce. Zucchini texture is oddly inconsistent, potatoes are dry, and chicken is alright, but flavorless. Lots of salt was needed. Overall, nothing was really wrong with my visit; they offered everything(almost) as advertised. This place just didn’t do it for me other than the awesome draft and amazing bottled beer selection. Since they closed at 10, I got a chance to kick it with a few of their staff at the bar, and they offered good company. 9⁄10 for beer, 3⁄10 for food.

Decent brew pub at Beaver Valley Mall. Service was friendly but a bit slow but prices were reasonable and the patio seating was comfortable… didn’t feel like you were in the parking lot. Had a few beers and a few appetizers. Popper Dip was good and stuffed banana peppers were decent but not hot all the way through. Artichoke dip was pretty good too

I have absolutely zero complaints about Bocktown. The food I had from their Pot Roast sandwich, to their fries, to the amazing bruschetta, was all on point. The beer selection is by far the best I’ve encountered at any location I’ve ever been to as well. The way they have the cooler set up to display all options and you can pick out your own scores points with me. Waitress was very patient, accommodating, and cool. She provided samples of any beers on tap and was knowledgeable about each. Lastly, what other places do you know other than a Kings or Eat n’ Park(yuck) that serve food so late? Ill be back for sure.

I’m giving Bocktown in Monaca three stars instead of two, only because the Chicken Salad was above average. The original server we had was pretty nasty. The place is empty, but it took at least 5 minutes for someone to seat us. We asked for a table and she showed us to a booth. Seriously, the place had plenty of options. I will say that my father was a little rude and pointed out her mistake. Even after an apology from me, she continued to loudly complain about us to two other tables(customers) and the other server on the floor. The rest of the service was average.

Four stars for the food; 2.5 for the service. We were seated right next to a giant speaker that the live singer was using. He was between songs when we sat down, so I didn’t realize how loud it would be when he started back up. He was good, that isn’t the complaint, but when the waitress returned with our drink order, I asked if we could move because it was hard to hear across the table with the noise level. She said she«could ask, but only has this one section…» and trailed off. Alright, I get it, I’ve waited tables and I’d be irritated if a table asked me to move because there is a rotation at play in most restaurants and tables are what make servers their money… but still. Surely they could have put us elsewhere and let her keep our check and continue serving us. It isn’t a stadium; the place isn’t so big we couldn’t have been accommodated. With that said, I asked her if they could at least turn down the music some and they did do that, so I have to give them credit there. It was just a crappy situation and I wish I had known how loud it would be before we were seated. It wasn’t a life-ruiner or anything. Onto the food: pretty delicious. The bacon cheese fries were yummy, and the hot meatballs sandwich was HUGE and tasted great. I got the Growler, which was a steak sandwich, and it was perfect. One of the better steak sandwiches I’ve had at a bar/grill. Overall, I’d recommend the place. I’ve been to the Robinson location as well and have never had a bad meal. It isn’t that pricey unless you get beers(which can be a few bucks a pop, but they’re craft beer so that should be expected).

I’ve been to this location many times since they opened. An order of beer cheese and pretzels used to be these big pepperidge farm pretzels, now they give you fried hot dog buns that smell like feet and the cheese is almost always watered down. Really gone downhill trying to save the owners money. The beer selection is nice, but how about a happy hour or a deal, to my knowledge they have never offered once since they opened. No wonder it’s always dead in there…

I have been trying very hard not to be negative about a place that has a nice selection of craft beers. But today, the basic hamburger was more than a casual disappointment. A big pre-fab piece of hamburger(hopefully) on a soggy bun with oh so much more grease than anyone under 12 should absorb. The«lettuce» side was just a few bits of greenery… Plate was heavy and laden in fat and grease. Service. Perfect. Cleanliness. Perfect. Beer service and varieties. Perfect. Prices. Fine. I really cannot recommend anyone actually eating here from the«bar venue.» A hamburger that is presented like this simply says to the customer… well. You fill it in. Mcdonald’s on their worst day was better than this. f8 and be there.

Bounty of the County Burger … locally raised grass fed beef, smoked Gouda and bacon jelly. Delicious! It was their«Cattle & Can» special(includes a side and can of local PA craft beer). Paired it with the North Country Paleo IPA … brewed in Slippery Rock, PA. Another enjoyable meal at Bocktown.

When this place opened, my family and I loved it! It was pricy, but worth it. Recently, we went for my mother’s birthday. There was disgusting red substance INSIDE our salt shaker. A dirty cart with dirty baskets was in the dining area. The floor was dirty. I got fries with cheese because it was the only«light» option I could find. It was overly salted! Our food took forever to come out, too. The only saving grace was a decent waitress. However, she took off only 4 $(the fries) despite a giant disappointment of a visit. WILLNOTRETURN. My mother was so upset that the short time we had together for her birthday was ruined by this establishment. Plus our waitress pretty much hinted that the owners are never there! Horrible. Don’t go. I recommend Bowser’s if you want good beer and great food. I hope this place doesn’t last long!
