Sorry… I’m not having it. I’ve never seen or heard of anyone putting gelatin in their dough. I guess it’s a Stashu’s signature… so be it… rubber like pizza crust. I guess when the local competition is full of heavy hitters you try to stand out. A jello crust will definitely stand out, as well as the all pervading dingle berry sized sausage crumbles. Seriously, I order a cheese pie and get a shit ton of sausage with it… complimentary? No thanks.

Best place for a calzone. Whenever I am in town, this is my go to place… family owned with great people.

I just ate here for the first time and it was excellent! The guys behind the counter weren’t a barrel of laughs… they were men on a mission. And they did the mission to perfection. The sausage pizza was made perfectly. Although I am not a fan of a pizza being piled high with meat this pizza had it and I loved it. They balanced the meat with a lot of cheese and not to much pizza sauce. The crust had bubbles! Bubbly crust is amazing and this was no different. The cost for such awesome food can’t be beat either. 14 dollars for a 12″ pizza and two soft drinks. Just awesome.

Really enjoyed the calzone, but we did not know they do not serve any type of alcohol, we are beer drinkers so that was a little bit of a negative. Kind of a cafeteria atmosphere, but the food was good!

Place was clean. Not too busy. Cheap prices. Was not sure at first if we sit down or order at the counter and then sit. Would be nice to be greeted upon entering as well. Just kind of got stared at. Finally ordered at counter and then found a table. Tables were dirty but nothing wiping with a paper towel couldn’t take care of. Split a pepperoni and sausage calzone with my husband. Was it good? Yes. Something to write home about? No. I’m used thick crusted calzones with sauce and sliced sausage. There was no sauce on the inside, was ground sausage, and the crust was thin. They did bring sauce on the side. The inside meat was cold. Cheese was melted and crust was brown, but meat was cold since the crust was so thin. They would have to burn crust to get the meat warm. Will I not go back? I probably will to try their sandwiches and pizza, but won’t be getting a calzone again.

Good olé Stashu’s. Pretty tasty but nothing crazy. 1 out of approximately 467 places in the Quad Cities to get this style of pizza. The pizza is slightly above average, at best. Their calzones? I prefer Pizza & Subs as well as St. Guisseppe’s over Stashu’s calzones. Also. is it just me or is there always 14 teenagers behind the counter goofing around? Why do they have so many employees there at once? I don’t get it. but I digress. It is Pizza. It’s hard to mess up pizza. It is definitely edible but it is never amazing.

This unassuming restaurant offers a gluten free crust that actually tears and does not taste like a mediocre cracker. They make their own sausage that is delicious. This is a must try if you are traveling through IA or IL. You can buy the gluten free pizza dough mix but I didn’t have success replicating their crust at home. Stashu’s(in-restaurant) has the BEST gluten free crust in the country!

Hands down this is the best pizza in the area, which is saying something. The crust(and rest of the pizza) is formed right in front of you once you order and always has a perfect crisp and density to it. The crumbled sausage, which stashus makes for some of the other QC institutions, is excellent as are the other fresh toppings and ample cheese. I have yet to try anything but pizza, though look forward to it and checking out the butcher shop behind the restaurant.

I’m puzzled by the positive reviews for this place. My experience can be summed up in two words: Burnt pizza. Not good right? During my «Tour of Italy» week I got a small cheese pizza from Stashu’s and what I received can only be described as burnt. The crust was brown and crispy, but the cheese was also brown and crispy. I was very disappointed. The positive reviews on Unilocal make me reconsider my initial decision to *not* try Stashu’s again. We will have to see. Not sure if I want to waste more money. I will say the crust was rather tasty and triangle cuts go quite a ways with this out-of-towner.

When I lived in the Quad Cities, this was a regular lunch place for us to go. I was recently in town for some training and we came here for lunch. We got there sound 12:10 and the place was packed. We ordered(I had a mini calzone, Haiwaian) and sat down. It took over 35 min for our calzones to be done. We had to take them to go and eat them at the training class. The food here is great! I love their calzones. I just don’t like how slow they can be due to being so busy.

What a hidden gem! We were in Moline visiting our daughter during her summer internship at John Deere. We picked this restaurant to take a look at from Unilocal. The pizza was excellent and the staff was friendly. This is a nice, family run restaurant and we highly recommend it.

Stashu’s is a place that has to be experienced to appreciate. Great pizza and fun staff. Youll wait a while for your food, but you cannot rush something done right. You can see your dough being tossed in front of you and witness the massive amounts of meat and cheese that go into the calzones and on the pizza’s. One of the best in the area.
