Not good, not fresh, tastes frozen, then microwaved and not like Mexican food. and yeah, they charge for chips and salsa.

Not great but not bad. Typical Tex Mex nothing special. There are definite better Mex eats in the QC but all in all its an ok place to stop.

I’m surprised this qualifies as food, and it definitely does NOT qualify as «Authentic Mexican» food. My family has been going here for years and I can’t understand why they keep going back, other than the server is great(5 stars for her). I stopped ordering the«Mexican» food a long time ago and just get the fries, which are comparable to cafeteria quality. It’s not good.

I agree with Jessica. There are so many great authentic Mexican joints in the Quad Cities, why do people go to Rudy’s? I worked there in high school for a part time job. All their food was pre-made, wrapped in saran wrap, and put in a freezer. When ordered it is microwaved and served. That is not a restaurant, that is a TV dinner. One time I went there and got chips and salsa, and I swear they gave me store bought chips and pace picante sauce. Needless to say the Brady St. one where that happened went out of business soon after. If you want good«authentic» mexican food go to Azteca, La Flama, La Racherita, La Primavera. If you want pre made reheated phony Mexican, gringo food go to Rudy’s Tacos.

Margaritas good, don’t provide chips and salsa unless you order them. I like their Lenten items

I… I just don’t understand how this restaurant is held up as «the finest Mexican food». The quesadillas are velveeta and flour tortillas. The«salsa» is squirted out of those plastic red bottles. I just can’t wrap my mind around how people can in good conscience call this Mexican food. It boggles my mind. It’s insulting to Mexicans, to Mexican food, and to just food in general.

This is a stand-by since it is near our house. Casual dinning, sonething for everyone.. Even the non-mexican dish eaters.

I wish I could leave a zero star rating. First off. they charge for chips and salsa. not to refill. your first basket! and not 99 cents. they charge $ 3.99! You can tell the food is microwaved. They cover every dish in about 2 inches of cheddar cheese.(Cheddar?! Not even queso fresco?) When I ordered, I asked if I could have the enchiladas but no peas please. They told me, «Sorry, they are already made, we can’t take them out. But you can pick them out.» They are already made? I haven’t ordered them yet! Yeah. I avoid this place like the plague. About 35 better Mexican spots in the QC(no joke) and at least 5 better Tex-Mex spots.

The only thing on the menu worth eating is Rudy’s original enchiladas! The rest is very American ground beer bland. To each his own.

There are so many good Mexican restaurants in the Quad Cities, I don’t know why anyone would go here. It is the only sit-down Mexican restaurant I know of that charges you for chips and salsa. I’m not sure what the thing I ordered was supposed to be, but it was bland, watery, and luke warm. I really do not understand why there are so many of these restaurants around the QCA. If you want terrible Mexicanish food, just go to Taco Bell and save a few bucks.

Ordered hard shelled and soft shelled tacos, this food was soooo horrible I spent 27 $ on this crap the meat had no real flavor at all and the sauce was nothing but tomato sauce with salt and red pepper yuck a total waist of my money. I have been to about 4 other restaurants since I’ve been here and all of them were not good at all or better yet just plain disgusting. I’m just gonna stick with the fast food chains because no on in this damn place can freakin cook worth a damn!

Nothing like good cheap über Americanized Mexican food. When that’s what I’m looking for, here is where I go. Sooo far from being authentic Mexican that I have a hard time calling it that. It is fantastic though. Great food and great prices. I’ve been getting the same thing for years and years. Large combo. It has everything you could want.

I will never understand why people like this place so much. I live very close to it so I’ve eaten there quite a few times and have never gotten anything but greasy, tasteless food. Also, they don’t even have free chips and salsa like every other Mexican restaurant in the area. But, don’t bother ordering them either because the salsa is gross.
