Bud’s Skyline Inn

Went on Valentines day with a large group. Waitress messed up half our orders and my steak was over done and got it without my baked potato which they said they ran out of. This was 6:30 at night and on Valentines day.

We came here based on a recommendation from a co-​worker. Upon arriving, the parking lot was rather full which is always a good sign. I noticed the ceiling was really low. There was a sign to seat yourself so we found a booth near the bar. As I looked around, I noticed that it was an older crowd and seemed to be frequented by locals. It took the waitress a little while to get to us and she took our drinks orders.
Looking at the menu, I noticed they have a «famous salad bar» so I took a look at it. There was nothing appealing to me. Honestly, it looked like salads that my grandpa liked. Now maybe this was influenced by the crowd in the place but no way was I going to get the salad bar.
I did find the prices a bit higher than I expected for this place. It took our waitress a while to come back to take our orders. I decided to order the chicken casear wrap with onion rings. It was massive and I knew I couldn’t eat it all. It was very tasty!
I would come back only for the food, not the ambiance!

Flag Day was my birthday and a great friend took me here for lunch.
The lunch rush here consisted of 15 people. there were a lot of seats to choose from .
The parking area was ample and clean.
the dining area was also clean and neat not cluttered.
We were waited on promptly by a friendly gal, we decided to share a rack of pork ribs w/​a salad bar and bloody Mary’s.
The Ice water is filtered, (thank god)
I am not a drinker at all (twice a year for me) So for me not to get just a tiny bit buzzed makes me wonder if they were a little light on the booze, but it tasted very good.
The salad bar is adequate, not too big, but everything we tried was very good, and very fresh. and it was also clean and neat.
I especially enjoyed the coleslaw, its every bit as good as Culver’s.(my favorite)
Fries came with the ribs and they were fresh and good,
And then there is the ribs.
They were about a five on the scale between 1 and 10. (I forgot to get the sauce, on the side)
I’ve had much worse, but these are not great, I think mostly because they were warm (not hot) on the exterior but room temp on the inside ‚.
Almost as if they poured the scalding sauce on top to heat them up, they were meaty though, not fatty. So they had good potential.
I just heated the 5 remaining ribs up in our microwave and they were great !
much better as left overs.
I think we were in there for 70 minutes, had the chairs been more comfortable, we would have had another round of drinks and maybe shared a piece of pie.
Its time to get some much more comfortable chairs, these are for taco /​burger joints at $ 9.00 per meal. even if you only buy ten a month, over a year.
We paid $ 43.00 for the both of us, + a tip.
I will go back again, for the salad bar and to to try the wraps and panini’s they looked good at the near by tables.
Another great thing: They don’t have a huge menu, like a lot of places, I’d much much rather go to a place with a sparse menu that does the food right, than a place that offers twice as much and is only mediocre at best. good job there.

Looking for some chow on the drive home from customer visit. We seen the parking lot was full and took it as a good sign. This is a seat yourself kind of place and we did just that. However service lagged as no one came by for a bit. We our server came she was friendly and explained items. I went for a burger other had tuna melt. Browsing around the salad bar was quite large and has a lot to offer. Watching people pile on the plates was amusing. Finally after a fairly long wait our food arrived. Burger was cooked like I had asked just a bit dry no complaints from co worker on tuna melt. Overall not a bad place average but ok.

skyline inn kicks ass, been there a few times with friends. food is great with a nice salad bar. its always busy, good pour on the drinks. reasonable pricing. service was a little sketchy, the bartender was bitchy. not a good attitude,
