Normally I am very satisfied with the product, especially the caramel apples, that is until yesterday. I love the apples so much that I bought the biggest one they had with a cost of nearly $ 10. When I went to eat some of it this evening I found that the entire bottom and some of the sides had stuck to the white paper bag. The single undersized piece of wax paper was to small, not properly place over the giant apple and the apple was ruined. I’m out the wonderful experience of a great product and $ 10! My complaint is «who in their right mind thinks that placing such sticky items in a paper bag»? In my opinion this a very poor decision on someone’s part and leads me to believe that I am not the only one this has happened to. Bottom line is «caramel and paper are not compatible and another solution should be considered. I don’t see myself getting back anytime soon if at all this season. Maybe next year… If only the process is changed by then.

You have to try the rich creamy chocolate, or the smooth, buttery sweet and salty caramel, its absolutely delicious and additive. Once you have one piece, you will want another. All of the candies are homemade, thats not something we can experience much anymore, but here you can and you should. The caramel apples are a favorite in the fall, because of that buttery creamy caramel and the fresh, sweet, locally grown apples, you have to try them. The staff is friendly and helpful, probably because they love what they make and what they do, it shows. The Mokena location is a little set back off of route #30. If I could give this place 6 stars I would.

I have wanted to try this place forever! I was working in the area one day and had time to kill so it finally worked out. I went at a really off hour and had the whole store all to myself. The staff all came to the counter and everyone was really friendly and helped me decide on my treats. I’m not even a real chocolate person. I always lean towards gummy bears and sour candies. This chocolate was amazing! I went with a small chocolate bar, chocolate covered oreo and nutter butter, chocolate covered banana creams, a caramel apple and a small bag of sour gummy candy. Everything was delicious! The caramel apples are to die for! Maybe one of the best I ever had. Now that I have experienced the quality here it will be difficult to pass it by without stopping for a treat.

My husband loved these chocolates. They have a huge variety and were very helpful. An enormous assortment of sugar free if that’s what you need.

I shouldn’t be eating candy at all, well, along with other things. Most places are like take it or leave it. Dan’s is different cause they say, take it or take it sugar free. I can do sugar free so I did. I also got some cheese popcorn. Nice selection of both popcorn and sugar free chocolates, many with a fruit filling. Did I swoon over the sugar free chocolates the way my wife did over her traditional candy? No, but the sugar free options were very good tasting and much better for my health. I don’t always watch out for my health so I appreciate Dan’s helping me with it.

Ever since I moved to Frankfort people have been telling me to try Dan’s Homemade Candies in Joliet. Inwardly I would roll my eyes and murmur, oh that’s too far away. Well, apparently the universe really did want me to go there because they opened a brand new Dan’s Homemade Candies right down the road from me. When the universe gives you a very clear sign like that, you obey! Today when I walked in I would have been happy just eating the smell! It was luscious and then I SAW the candy. Gorgeous piles of decadent chocolates and the dark chocolate was as prominent as the milk chocolate, sigh of heartfelt contentment. It was their grand opening so I got to sign up for prizes, guess the number of candies in a jar and select a bagful of rich treats. I came right home and ate the dark chocolate marshmallow and a sugar free candy that I got for comparison. The sugar free was very good but the dark chocolate marshmallow was deep, rich and sinful; the kind of chocolate that makes you smile, purr and be glad you are alive. I have the rest of the bag hidden away so I can enjoy a bit of chocolate perfection every day. Or devour the entire bag in like twenty minutes. Whichever the universe wants.
