Rivets American Grill

My dad and I went to Rivets for lunch. I ordered the Fort Knox burger and my dad ordered the killer burger. The Fort Knox consisted of a 3 inch slice of cheese deep fried on a bun with a quarter pound burger with lettuce, tomato, and onion. It was amazing. The deep fried cheese just melted with perfection every time you but I to it. It was the most amazing hamburger I have had in a while, here in modesto or even Chicago. My dads killer burger consisted of your regular hamburger medium with lettuce, tomato, and onion but it had a huge amount of bacon sprinkled on the burger. He told me it was an awesome hamburger. They have a great selection of beer on tap and a good variety at the bar. Great place to eat good food and have a drink.

Atmosphere is good but not impressed with the food. Actually, VERY unimpressed. I ordered the taco salad and asked for the pico de gallo on the the side. My husband asked for a burger done medium. My salad came out with the meat tossed in poco de gallo so hot it should come with a disclaimer. Could barely eat it. Husbands burger came out almost raw. Had to send it back. Had to go to Yogurt Mill down the street to cool my mouth down. Another crappy meal from this place. We will stick to drinks and an appetizer from now on.

Definitely lives up to all the reviews. Service was excellent and food was OUTSTANDING! Probably the best burger place in town!

The service was severely lacking, both in timeliness, and common curtesy. We found the host to be forgetful as he insisted that they don’t take names, but conveniently forgot to seat us ahead of at least 2 parties that came in after us. If you want a place to talk to your friends, and actually hear them, this is not the place when they have live music. On the brighter side, the sweet potato fries are good and the drinks are decent.

I have never had a bad experience here! Went to lunch there yesterday with a friend of mine that had not tried to the food and he said that he had heard mixed reviews. After yesterday he will not say a bad thing at all! I had my normal Fort Knox Burger which is a cheese lovers dream come true! A brick of deep fried cheddar cheese on top of a burger what could go wrong with that? My friend had the Peanut Butter and Jealous burger that was a burger with peanut butter and pepper jack cheese. He said that it was a weird great! Normally I would have a Blue Moon but because it was lunch time I had a iced tea but they have a large selection of beer. I also was happy because I didn’t have to cook for dinner as my husband loves their pastrami burger that is topped with a mound of pastrami. They also have the best onion rings! Our waitress Justine was very friendly and very attentive. Will be going back soon!

I really love this place! The drunken turkey was good and the blueberry beer was the best. I am definitely going to return here. Beware, if you sit close to the band when they have a live band, it’s going to be pretty loud. I think next time i’ll sit at the bar!

I love the vibe and food here. :) I have never had a bad meal and everyone from behind the bar and front of the house is always so nice.
On weekends they have live bands and if you can catch Johnny and Kelley or Neil and Matt, you will be in for an extra treat.

Okay, the French fries were shoestring, which I love, seasoning was okay. Downside was that they should have been more done and crispier and hotter when served.
Garden salad was good and the Blue Cheese dressing may have been made in house.
Burgers were very good, fresh and hot!
Onion rings? Holy cow! Awesome and made in house and they are FABULOUS!!!
Restrooms very clean and updated. We will be back!

The drink menu is awesome, food is awesome, sevice is awesome. The only complaint I have is how crowded it is. It could be a bigger space but over all its great.

One of my favorites in my home town! Their food is amazing, really cute place with a country feel, they play country music… tons of beer on tap, amazing seasonal specials and great customer service! Everything I have there is fantastic! Try the Vermont cheddar burger, Sound the alarm burger and French onion soup. You won’t be disappointed!

Food is good, fully stocked bar, and they have live music sometimes. The Modesto famous Johnny and Kelly played when I was there last, and they are awesome. I highly recommend coming in here for food and drinks, and just have a good time!

Great drinks, great bartenders and great waitresses. Been here few times now and always a great time. Bartenders are on it asking for another round if we’re low on drinks and always refilling our water cups. Food is great and never had any issues with bad service. We managed to arrive on live band nights and that’s always a great night. Chill and relaxing music with good drinks with great friends.

Great bar and drinks, however their pretty pricey. The food was okay, the staff was kind and attentive. Overall I would Definitely be back for the bar scene just not a big fan of the food.

Moving to the Modesto area, I was always under the impression that all nightlife was downtown, which wasn’t the most convenient. I would always drive past Rivets during the day, thinking it was just another burger joint. Oh boy, was I wrong! Full bar (they have practically everything, Amsterdam mule with peach vodka is a must try!), live band playing every night (except Sunday’s and Monday’s), menu off the charts (trust me, I’m a picky foody) from custom burgers, to amazing salads. Even my wife’s roasted veggies sandwich was good, surprisingly! The menu consists of wide range of food for meat eaters and vegetarians, from burgers to pastas. I will have to try different things from the menu and comment again at that time. Customer service is great here, bartenders are easy to chat with! Loads of custom drinks, some made by the bartenders working!

Been to this place twice now for lunch with co-​workers. I really enjoy the food and atmosphere. I have ordered the steak sandwich with fries both times, which came out fresh in a timely manner. My co-​worker loves the garlic fries, which smell awesome by the way. They have music playing while you eat, but you can still enjoy a convo with your friends. The staff are personable and greet you with a friendly smile. This also seems like a great place to have a beer and enjoy a bite to eat. Whether it’s a casual lunch date or a girls night out, I will definitely be back.
Although, today for lunch had the smell of cleaning chemicals… maybe they just got done cleaning from a wild Friday night… who knows… but other than that, it was good!

Pretty cool place I checked out this week.
Not sure about the very expensive mixed drinks, ranging from $ 11 to 14 $ for a mixed drink, this is not SF or Livermore to be charging these prices for mixed drink, I can almost go out and buy a bottle for that.
I got the burger with bacon mixed in, it was really good on delish sourdough bread, with homemade chips you can never go wrong with that.
Avoid the mix drinks and stick to the beer which is ok priced.

I have to start out this place could be an okay bar. But when it comes to being restaurant its a 8 – 10 dollar a plate food place but charging 15 – 30 instead.
The service was good that’s why it received the stars. As for the food its a different story. I ordered the chicken fried steak for 19 bucks so I am thinking for 19 bucks it has to be big and good. It was neither. It was like a breaded steakum. About 1/​8″ thick and about 6″ long. And it was flavorless and the gravy was just as bad. The red potatoes was the only thing decent.
In so many words I will not be back and will not recommend to anybody.

Cool local hangout!
I love the way the place is setup. I love the décor. I love the lighting. I love the dance floor. The live music. The people. The music. The service. The artwork on the walls. The food? Ehhh I’ve had better.
We ordered the Chicken Clunks as appetizers, but had to send them back because they tasted like they were fried in fishy oil. I don’t know if this was because they may have fried in the same oil as they fried our neighbor’s calamari in, but not cool! I didn’t mind it so much because I’m a seafood lover, but my sis doesn’t so this was a major bust for her. We sent them back & they gladly took them off of our tab & apologized.
We also ordered the Homemade Chips, which were really good, but sprinkled excessively with sea salt. If they chill on the salt a tad bit, it would make this appetizer phenomenal!
The Apple Walnut Salad was good. It was my sister’s pick. I’m not really a salad kinda girl, I’d pick soup over salad any day, but for a salad it did the trick. It had fresh pieces of apple, lettuce, raisins, walnuts, and a light dressing.
From my understanding, they have live music on the weekends. The band tonight was very entertaining & played everything from Neil Diamond to Robin Thicke’s, Blurred Lines. There were a few rowdies in there who were probably seeing some blurred lines, so before things got too fuzzy, my sis & I had to bounce! Good times though! We’ll definitely be back. Possibly even tomorrow! Wink ;)
