McGrath Moving & Storage

If you’d like to have your items lost & damaged AND pay premium prices to be insulted by ignorant laborers, chose Wheaton. This state to state move was awful.
I’ve moved more than 24 times & this was easily the most frustrating thanks to Wheaton. The driver & loader arrived full of attitude about items that «should have» been broken down further, like tables, exercise equipment & bookcases. This information could have been conveyed to us BEFORE the move by the agent & not left to the last minute when everything was packed up, including our tools.
Within minutes of meeting me & being at my home the driver made a gun with his hand & comments to the loader in front of me about killing my «stupid» (his word) pets. I later learned that he was allergic, but this begs the question, who would say something so awful in front of a customer? And what kind of company sends this person as a representative into peoples homes when most homes in America have pets?
Wheaton had weeks ahead of time to figure out how to pack an especially large painting & it was still unpacked on moving day & had to be taken back to their warehouse. They ignored any marking of items as fragile & to «keep upright» as many boxes were delivered upside down and/​or crushed. A white chair was not wrapped to keep clean & instead «protected» by greasy moving blankets & arrived with black smears on it. An actual hole was punched into the side of a desk. They slid an antique secretary across the floor & broke the leg. Their inventory system is a joke. They write down that they used certain sticker numbers but not what items those numbers pertain to. If you want one less headache, use someone other than Wheaton to help you move.

McGrath moved me today. They did a wonderful job. I would highly recommend this company. They disassembled and reassembled my beds. They were very fast and worked very hard. If I move again I will definitely use this company. Thank you Mike and Nick! You guys are the greatest!

We hired McGrath Moving to move us last summer. in there defense it was 107 degrees the day they moved us — -but, they only had to move us 7 miles. Our new refrigerator door no long shuts on its own; we have to manually shut both doors (it’s French.) As time has gone by I have noticed many, many items that are scratched, chunks are gone out of the wood or torn. They quoted us $ 1400. It took them 12 hours to move us because they couldn’t figure out how to get our frig door off to get it out of the old house, and the heat too, so we ended up paying them $ 1650. Also, they severely scratched up our hardwood floors by sliding the furniture on them. They should have known not to do this, common sense! On a positive note, they were on time and really worked hard. They should have been more careful. Also, it was a pretty easy move, as they moved all of the kitchen boxes and furniture in our garage, as we were doing a complete gut job on our kitchen, so it really shouldn’t have taken them 12 hours. I would not go through this company again.

Used McGraths in June. This family owned business is obviously very proud of their name and reputation and they seem to have been around a long time. I helped my son with a job related move which was about a 4 ½ hour trip. McGrath’s quoted us a competitive price. Two professionals, Dave and Mike, showed up on time, quickly and carefully disassembled the larger pieces of furniture and brought larger wardrobe boxes to efficiently carry our smaller pre-​wrapped boxes onto the Pensky truck. Son has a one bedroom apartment plus another smaller bedroom that contained mainly his collections of cd’s, games, electronics, and winter wear. McGrath’s movers did everything as agreed on in our contract and more importantly agreed to verbally with Mike McGrath. I was a little hesitant to proceed with things merely discussed on the phone and my only negative is that they were a little slow getting me the paperwork to me. My son was more than pleased as he has made job related moves several times in the past few years and he told me the movers were the best he’s used.
Very impressive firm that we would not hesitate to use again. Their long experience paid off with exact quote, pick up and delivery as promised, and as far as we can tell with not all boxes opened yet, nothing broken.

Just used McGrath for our move to prunedale. Crew of three showed up on time and ready to go. They worked very quickly, yet careful at the same time. We had a piece of glass break and they had it replaced before they were done loading. I would recommend this moving company any day!

McGrath M&S just moved our office and did a great job. Reasonable bid, showed up on time and handled our job flawlessly.

I have used McGrath twice now… Their staff was on time and worked very hard at completing the job in a timely manner.
They also took VERY good care of my furniture and all my belongings. I needed them to hook up my washer/​dryer, which they did with a smile.
I will use them again if needed!
