Saturday Hours are incorrect on Unilocal — open at 10am… Been trying to hit this place before my son’s 10am football game on Saturdays… but with no luck. Heard a lot of good things about this bakery. Looking forward to trying it out. Too bad they don’t open earlier on a Saturday.

Oh hell to the fuck yes, Gold n fresh bakery. You know how to do siopao. they got pork and chicken. lets not stop there, theres an egg in the middle to top it off! it cant get better than that. also they got a micowave to heat things up if u want to eat it on the go.(a steamer would be better, but whatever, you do what you gotta do)

The bread is so fresh and warm! I love the variety of bread and cookies here! The owner is very friendly and enjoys what she does! I haven’t had a chance to try the pork buns but next time I will:)

The pork bun is the bomb. It appears to be a combination of a siopao and a pan de sal. The pork meat that goes inside a siopao is instead placed inside the pan de sal bread. There version is terrific! I’ve tried pork buns in other bakeries and restaurants, but nothing is as good as the ones we have from Gold’n Fresh Bakery. We always have to order a few days ahead of time. We do this in order to make sure to have some because in the past we’ve visited, and there have been no pork buns! We will always pre-order 6 to 12 pork buns. You can even freeze them, and eat them later. It still tastes delicious! I cannot comment on any other baked goods because I have never had anything else.

went here with hubby yesterday. the store smelled good. it smelled of freshly baked pandesal. so i asked if their pandesal is freshly baked and the girl said yes. i asked for 1(which is ten pcs in a bag) and what did she give me? pandesal in a plastic bag! hey! when i asked for freshly baked bread, i mean fresh from the oven. the kind that is still warm! not the one that was in a plastic bag! and the bag wasn’t even moist which means that it has been cold already when they put it in the bag. so where is the freshly baked bread in that? got some siopao also. just ate one tonight and sad to say, it was flavorless! they didn’t even have a sauce for it. but even if they have sauce, the siopao should taste good with or without sauce! i was so happy when i found out that we have a filipino bakery here in modesto. now, it doesn’t make a difference. will still go to valerio’s for freshly baked pandesal. the pandesal that is still warm and fresh from the oven! and then just go to the store for my siopao. that would be money well spent! and i was also looking for the friendly staff… didn’t encounter one… :-( it would also take me awhile to give them a second chance. but i might go back soon… to return their siopao… :-(

I first tried their goods from our local filipino store in Antioch. When I saw that the actual bakery was in Modesto, I had to check it out since I’m always in that area. Their breads(pan de sal) is good. I really liked the pineapple ring and this other bread with ube in it. I pretty much like anything with ube. Lol. Anyway, I plan on moving to Modesto soon so, it’s nice to know I have a place to go whenever my craving for filipino baked goods strike. :)

The siopao is so damn good here. They have chicken and pork behind the glass, but I’ve only ever had the pork. Their sesame seed covered sweet bun(tiny thing) is good, as is the mango sweet bun. I’m so obsessed with their siopao right now its ridiculous.
