My father has been here twice in the last 4 months– the people that work here are so caring. Very clean, good food and truly care about their patients.

This place is a joke! My mom went in for rehabilitation and that was far from what she got! They forgot many times to do her daily exercises. My mom’s roommate was stoped in the middle of her exercises because the guy helping her had a massage appointment and forgot about her when he came back until he was asked. Trying to get anyone to help you… I hope you got time to wait a few hours!!! Even when asked they don’t care! They need to step it up or close down. People need someone who actually care about them.

One week: good & Bad sumation Good: cleaning, dusting. Tasty food. Ample help. Bad: mostly cold food served to room, one nurse was combatative. and causing me anguish. Help no, argue yes. women in nearby room yelling for hours PM. Another woman causing chaos in hallway for an hour. Mental ward? Go home, if you can. I checked out ahead of time. This is just my view & experience. Plan ahead. Seem to cater more to women patients… Judgment call!

When doctors at a Pleasanton, CA hospital suggested I engage hospice for my elderly father, I had him moved to English Oaks. He entered the facility severely malnourished and weighing just 76 lbs. Now, however, after several months at English Oaks, hospice is off the table and he’s up to about 105 lbs. Still, severely underweight, but certainly trending in the right direction. The medical staff is incredible. And from a financial standpoint, staff at English Oaks have been invaluable in advising me with my dad’s private insurance, Medicare and etc. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have a clue! In a perfect world, my dad would be living independently at home. However, since that’s unrealistic, English Oaks is the next best option.

Robert. I’d sure like to talk to you. I’m getting ready to make a complaint. We’ve had similar issues. Several areas of neglect. English oaks is not what it use to be. Their records are not accurate. What they document and what is true are opposite. I hear there is another unhappy family as well

I checked my mother in on Friday. She had just had knee replacement surgery. By Friday night she was begging me to «get her out if here». By the morning she was frantic. i went down to investigate. it was 9:30 a.m. her pain medication was 2 ½ hours late and it didn’t get there until I raised a ruckus. We went over the chart from the discharging hospital, they had missed the diabetic medicine and were not giving it to her. After I got upset the staff seemed to respond and she stayed another day. By Sunday morning she was frantic again. Her pain medication was an hour and a half late, they did not give her her blood pressure medication again and they served her a slice if ham and a piece if cheesecake for breakfast(she sent me a picture… a slice of ham and cheesecake to a diabetic). Going to get her out if there today!!!

I have been in here several times and have to say that for a nursing home this is a very nice one. Come here to visit family. This place is alway very clean and doesn’t smell of urine etc. The nursing staff is very friendly and are always there to help the patients. Anyway most of the people living here or being treated here are happy. Haven’t heard a bad thing about the place. NO: I do not work here.
