I felt compelled to write a review to warn other potential victims to the scam this place continues to run. I had purchased a groupon several months back, and was pretty excited about such an awesome deal, and I was in dire need of a chiropractic adjustment. I have had a previous career in sales, and spotted right away this«doctor“s sales tactics(as pathetic as they were). He did not even give me a proper adjustment, just used that stupid contraption where it makes a big noise to disguise the fact that YOUDIDNOTGETANACTUALADJUSTMENT. And then they proceed to stick you on this stupid machine that just shakes your entire body. Woweee… that was a waste of time. I actually left there both times feeling worse than when I walked in. The deal I had purchased through groupon was for 3 visits. Well, after my second visit, I’d had enough of the pathetic sales pitch(really…I was embarrased for him) which really takes up most of your visit, with him back there trying to use reverse psychology like«Now, after reviewing all of your goals, doesn’t this several thousand dollar plan make sense?» Pfft save it for someone else, asshole. But now I see this SAME exact offer on groupon and felt I should warn other consumers. (No big secret now why they need to keep doing these groupons, amirite?) There are many REAL chiropractors out there. It’s offices like this that give the entire practice a bad name. I hope they choke on every dime that they’ve stolen from our community. Karma… you know how she do. ;)

My appt. Was at 6 pm and it took 15 mins to finally get seen at the back. Once I was in the back I continued to wait for half an hour!!! Now I’ll give Dr. Bob credit that he was pretty professional and apologized for the delay, but the atmosphere just seemed more raggedy than anything. I paid $ 20 for a consultation and xrays. He told me what was wrong with my neck and back via the xrays but then I felt that the consultation turned more of a gym membership. I don’t want that coming from a «DR.» On top of that the prices were outrages compared to other chiropractors I’ve been to. After I told him that I will take some time to think about if this is a right move or not I could sense the attitude change and felt as if he just didn’t care to what I had to say anymore since I wasn’t going to buy into his scheme. Whatever. Anyways bottom line FINDSOMEONEELSE! This doctor comes off as professional but in the end I got more of a feeling that he just wants money than to actually help someone out with serious pain issues.

Review of Armstrong Family Chiropractic — by Tedra Prouty former patient of one day on 6.12.13 from 4−5pm I met Dr. Bob senior at his booth at the Scottish Highland Games on June 12013 in Modesto Ca. I saw a sign for a free chair massage. After my chair massage I was sat down and told about an offer: I pay $ 20(that day), I would receive x-rays and Chiropractic exam and free 30 min massage on two consecutive days at their location 1031 McHenry Ave Modesto. I expressed that I was against x-rays and asked whether they could do the exam without them. The answer was yes. In fact, they could refund my $ 20 as well at my apt. because the $ 20 was only for the x-rays. So, even though it’s a long drive from Oakdale and I had to have my Mom watch my child(she rearranged her whole schedule for both consecutive days) I felt like it was a great deal… basically a 30 min free massage. I scheduled 4pm on both days. I arrived and was told the apt. would take 20 – 30 min. I sat in the lobby for 15 min before being asked to view a video for another 10. After the video had stopped and no doctor was coming to get me I stepped out and he said he’d be right there. We had a brief conversation before he began the exam. He took notes and told me he would have some suggestions for me tomorrow after my massage. He even mentioned it was good that I already had that scheduled. We walked out to the front desk where I was expecting the receptionist to refund my credit card(since Bob senior had written down my number on a piece of paper at the faire). She asked me if I had scheduled a massage, I gave her my date and time(tomorrow Th. 13th at 4pm, as scheduled in Dr. Bob senior’s handwriting). She told me there was no massage therapist working tomorrow, and that this was a strange situation that had never happened before(where senior schedules massages). She also said she was booked next Monday and they are closed F, S, and Sunday. She went back to talk to Bob senior who eventually came out to speak to me and changed his story to: at the second apt. you get your chiropractic findings and recommendations and then we schedule a massage on yet another day. I told him this is not what was discussed at the fair and he actually blamed it on my looking at my schedule while he was explaining it(which wasn’t the case because I left my cell in the stroller with my husband). So he went back to his office and Bob Jr.(who had performed the exam) comes around the corner and asks if there’s a problem. I said, yes. I explained the situation. He told me something different than what his father had just explained. He said he could refund the money but then I wouldn’t get the massage. So I told him that’s not what was just explained by your father to me and you both are not on the same page. The receptionist couldn’t refund my card because they had installed a new system, so Bob Jr. went to look for $ 20 which he didn’t have. Then he added little remarks about how this was all over $ 20. I said it’s about not following through on what I was told; the right hand doesn’t know what the left is doing.(I wish I would have said $ 20 might not be a lot to you, but its two family dinners or 5 pairs of shoes for my son or 6 months of clothing for him. I thought that attitude was really uncalled for and demeaning). So then they determined that they charged me on the old system. Then I wasn’t charged at all. So I asked for the piece of paper Senior had written my credit info on. Bob Jr. brought it out and said that if I had been charged to bring this in and let him know. The apt. lasted an hour not 20 – 30 min(which my Mom and 1.5 yr old had to wait through) all for naught. I cancelled subsequent visits. I highly recommend going to Hill Chiropractic or somewhere else! The only person who had customer service was the receptionist. Perhaps the doctors should take note and re-evaluate how they do business and get on the same page. I will never go back! What a waste of time and gas!

Every time I tried to make appointment they would ask if I had a Groupon, then the only open schedule was 2– 3 to weeks out. I finally went for my message and was asked if I had any problem areas. I told her yes that my upper back, shoulders, neck and feet hurt. She didn’t even touch my neck but just a quick second. Also my message was supposed to be 1 hour long. I got a message for 45 minutes and was told to relax for the next ten minutes or so. Don’t waste your moneys Groupon or not.
