Noble South takes Southern Cuisine to a level where its never been before. I work downtown and this is my absolute favorite lunch spot. You can close your eyes and put your finger anywhere on the menu, and you’ll love it. The vegetables are all local, fresh and unique in their preparation. The atmosphere is very upscale but casual. This place just makes me happier.

What a find. The space is dramatic, with a great combination of modern design and preservation of historical elements. You might think from the metal chairs that it was more casual cooking, but the quality of the food was first-rate. Their combination of contemporary cooking inspired by southern traditions totally works. The kale salad was the first one my wife and I have ever enjoyed, and the server suggested a great wine pairing. I had the beef cheek and my wife had the shrimp and grits, both of which were great. The parsnips and the turnips with the been cheeks were crunchy and full of flavor. The pecan tart was very good as well. The prices are quite reasonable for the quality of the food. Service was friendly and knowledgeable.

This place is pretty amazing, When you first walk in you notice the beautiful high ceilings and how bright it is. It’s not the normal dark restaurant vibe, which is really refreshing. I was seriously impressed by my meal here. I am a vegetarian and they had a few vegetarian apps as well as one vegetarian entrée. I ordered the Vegetable Plate, the vegetarian entrée. I also ordered a Fat Tire to drink. They don’t have that large of a drink menu. The Veggie plate was these AMAZING brussel sprouts with red onion and pecan, a small kale salad, and Spring rolls filled with spaghetti squash seasoned with rosemary. The flavors were just terrific! I am still thinking about this meal and I had it a few days ago. The acoustics here are also great. Even when the restaurant was full, I didn’t feel like I had to scream to speak with the people around me. The location of the restaurant is also close to the hotels on water st so it was a perfect place to have a dinner with a group of colleagues from work. I would highly recommend this restaurant from Mobile or not.

This is one of my favorites here in mobile! Here they take some traditional dishes and make them really well. I got the rabbit and dumplings and it was full of flavor and cook perfectly. My girlfriend got the beef cheek, which was even better than the rabbit. It was very tender and flavorful. I would suggest trying something here slightly out of your comfort zone. You won’t be disappointed. The service was pretty good and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. The prices were reasonable around 15 – 30 depending on the dish. This a good place to go ranging from a date night to a group of friends hanging out!

Outstanding in every way. My husband and I enjoyed our meal so much we ordered desserts. I had a delicious rabbit fricassee(can’t pass up the chance of eating rabbit) and my husband a extraordinary pork chop. All the accompanying aides were perfect. Definitely one of the best meals I’ve ever consumed

The service was pretty good. The catfish appetizer wasn’t that great, way too dense. It kinda tasted like cat food. The shrimp and grits were great and so were the lamb chops.

The pork is not worthy of being served. Tons of fat, very little edible meat. Service was just OK. Creamed corn from veggie plate and okra app was fantastic. Overall, trying a little to hard. Nothing special.

Had lunch at Noble South today. First time I’ve eaten there but I will be back! Completely blown away by their food. Sheer perfection! Catfish was as good as I’ve ever eaten. The vegetables were fresh and locally grown. Service was splendid. They’ve done a wonderful job of bringing an old building back to life. Go eat at Noble South! I want this place to be around for a long long time!

I’ve visited the Noble South on several occasions, lunch and dinner, and have never had any complaints! The servers are always very attentive, and eager to offer suggestions. I’m a sucker for chef and wait staff favorites. They will never steer you in the wrong direction! The menus change often, as the chef buys seasonal and as local as possible. Kudos to you, Chris! What most people don’t know, is that this is a great little lunch spot! The pimento cheese, bacon and egg sandwich is just as yolky and delicious as it sounds. Something out of my childhood! But my favorite selection from the lunch menu is the vegetable platter. There are always a ton of fresh veggie sides to choose from. The sweet potato fries, macaroni and cheese, kale salad and brussels sprouts always make my plate. Such a healthy and filing lunch, for under $ 10. For dinner, my favorite entrees are probably the the rabbit and dumplings and the blackened drum. However, appetizers and small plates is the way to go. It’s fun to grab a few orders of each to share with the table. That way, everyone gets a couple of bites and you can try a variety of items on the menu. The oxtail, crab/watermelon/feta salad and pork rillette are some of my favorites if they’re on the menu when you visit. Be sure to try the signature champagne cocktails and the banana semifredo for dessert!

This place should be called«The Ignoble South». Cliché, trendy, identical to every new American restaurant in every American city. Repurposed, white-washed hardwood floors, metal chairs, neutral walls and a small, unimaginative menu. The steak was dry and overcooked.(I asked for medium-well and it came out very well-done.) The veggies were overly salted — which made the dryness of the steak even worse. To top it off, the prices are what you’d pay in a cultured city.

This place is worth the dollars spent. I’ve been here twice, and both visits were magical. They could have a more diverse beer menu, but their food was consistently delicious. The experience is special and intentional, and I want it to happen again. Both bartenders I have met engage their customers, and give suggestions that actually benefit the client. Why not stop here, why not make this place a staple while in Mobile. I don’t have a good excuse.

It was a super busy night. It is a cozy place and all the tables were taken but we were able to sit at the bar right away. The bartender Christopher was very friendly and gave us great service. We felt like he needed help as he was making all the drinks for the entire restaurant and trying to wait on diners at the bar. Every dish we had was delicious. There were many choices for vegetarians and I greatly appreciated that there was not pork everything. I will definitely be back for the meatless Monday menu.

Love this place. Menu changes all the time so don’t get your heart set on anything you may have seen on menus. They usually always have a duck, pork, and blackened something dish. With that said, food is fairly upscale and it’s not really all that expensive. Reservations advised on weekends. The servers and host were very nice. Good place to go with a fabulous friend or even a date.

If you are in Mobile, Alabama, then you must check out The Noble South. All four of our appetizers were extraordinary — pork buns, pepper jelly with blue cheese, fried chicken hearts, and pickled shrimp. The entrees were even better: blackened drum, whole fried mullet, and a rabbit stew. Check it out! You won’t be disappointed. Bravo!

This is a real fancy restaurant. The kinds of people that eat here are rich people like lawyers and astronauts. Some of the things on the menu I didn’t even know what it was. I did learn that rich people eat rabbits. Before I thought only my friend Bobby eats rabbits. He lives in the woods and is always telling me to bring him alka seltzler plus d and camp fuel. Eating all of them rabbits has messed his teeth up. I got me shrimps and grits because even a simple person like me knows what shrimps and grits is. And a cokecola. It was pretty good I guess. The waitress wouldn’t fill up my cokecola after I drank it, but I still had shrimps to eat. I had to ask him for more cokecola two different times.

A work buddy owed me lunch so we drove downtown(5 minutes away) with the intention of eating at [redacted], which is one of my favorites. After parking the car at Beinville Square my sly friend pulled the olé’ switcheroo on me and suggested we go the The Noble South instead. I really had my heart set on going to [redacted] but he’s paying so… yeah man, lead on! I really didn’t know what to expect out of this place. I was going in blind. The hostess was smiling and friendly, the way a good hostess should be. The waiter, a guy with one of those really cool beards that are popular these days, was table-side within seconds and took our drink orders. He was on point the whole time we were there and seemed to actually CARE about what he was doing. I was very pleased with the service. Some downtown Mobile establishments have crappy service. This is not one of those places. Now on to the food… the deviled eggs w/caviar and crispy bacon was ordered as an appetizer. Very tasty. I love«regular» delivered eggs and the bacon and caviar on these really made them stand out in a great way. For my meal I ordered the grilled shrimp, kale salad, and sweet potato waffle fries. You basically just pick a protein from the menu and then choose your sides. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and superbly seasoned. My mouth is watering now just thinking about them. In fact my fingers still smell like the shrimp and I’m not ready to wash the scent off. That probably makes me weird but so what. ;-) The kale salad was very simple, light and wonderful. It kind of worked as a palate cleanser between the OMGAWESOME shrimp and the OMGAWESOME sweet potato waffle fries. These fries… really, best starch I’ve ever put in my mouth. Sweet, salty, potatoey… if there is a heaven it is made out of these fries. Mobile needs more places like this. Mobilians need to SUPPORT places like this. The Noble South is was a wonderful surprise for me today and I WILL be back.

We went here just for dessert. It was great. I have no complaints. We got we got the banana pudding, and a strawberry bread pudding. They were both fantastic. This place is also Farm to table which is extremely impressive. I would come back in a heartbeat to try out the actual food. it is BYOB at this point but I’m sure they will get a liquor license; they are set up for a one. It might be required that men have to have a beard to work here. Very cool atmosphere very modern very cool architecture inside.
