Now, this would be one of my top three burger joints in Mobile. Every time that we’ve stopped in the food and the service have been great. It usually packs out at lunch and the parking can be a bit rough, but it’s totally worth it. You can’t go wrong with the Bacon cheeseburger with the pasta salad and start it off with the homemade chips and french onion dip. Absolutely excellent! Enjoy!

The food here was really, really good. Every detail was on point. Plus, the beer selection was good, the waitstaff was really friendly, and the place was clean. I loved that it was busy, but mostly because everyone seemed to be really enjoying themselves. It was a totaly natural environment and I look forward to going back. This is the kind of place you could spend a couple of hours in on a lazy Saturday and have a great day.

The LA burger is the only burger you’ll need to eat from now on. A second favorite is the Irish dip sandwich.

Since I’m new here in the Mobile area(moved from out of state), and I’m a huge Porter beer drinker here. I looked up for a pub around, and Callaghan’s Irish showed up on the list. So, I figured I’d give the place a try. When I showed up, the place was jammed. Because Mardi Gras. If it was packed, I assume it had to be a good place and I was right. Despite the fact the place was crowded and servers were too busy taking care of everyone, however a server showed a lot of patience with me, which I appreciated it very much. I’m deaf, so I communicate via texting or papers when I need to ask questions, or to order something. It shows how excellent their service is, that made me glad. I asked if they have Porter on tap, the server said no, simply suggested for me to try one of the taps, so I did and I really liked it. I’m happy she offered for me to try, or else I would have just left, because I wanted Porter beer, nothing else. I stayed in, ordered two pints of beer along with burger/chips. The hamburger was good, not something you would say, OMG, this is something I’m dying to have, but it is good that I am content with. Still, overall, it’s a neat place, great service, and great beer so I was happy. I will definitely be back.

Great local dive. Only reason I give it four stars instead of 5 is because they don’t serve fries! Love the French dip. Great live music or sit outside and watch the neighborhood.

Best burgers and reubens in Mobile. One of my favorite places to go when craving pure, greasy, salty fare.

Callaghan’s Irish Social Club is in a unique part of Mobile. Stepping inside of Callaghan’s is like stepping back in time. Retro artwork and photos are on the tables and the walls. I love the building and layout of the place. They always have live music thats awesome. There were even a few members from Rollin In The Hay walking about. The food is great if you love burgers. My husband does. I am more of a chicken sandwich kinda gal. However, the burger is great but dont expect fries. You get chips. They are just okay. Just my opinion. I know a lot of people love the food. I just wish there was more range on the menu. It does get crowded at night so if you want a booth for optimum seating for the music, I recommend getting there early on the weekends.

This is a pretty good restaurant. Callaghan has him all kinds of good stuff. He has him a mexican flag outside but regular americans is allowed in. I ain’t never meet no mexican named callaghan before. The kinds of food they has is cheeseburgers. I got me a cheeseburger and some chips. And a cokecola. It was pretty good.

Meh. Dry unseasoned frozen burger. Definitely not what it use to be. Gave 2 stars for atmosphere.

This is the go to spot for live music!!! They never disappoint when it comes to showcasing up and coming artist, like the now world wide famous Alabama Shakes and St. Paul and the Brokenbones! Mobile is one of the hottest spots in the south for such local talented musicians and John never disappoints by booking locals. The food, I have never been impressed but I have many friends that love to eat here.

Always great for a burger and a beer. The location is also great! Close enough to downtown, but not quite inside of it. They also have some great local music come out and play. If you want a pub atmosphere where you can have a chat with a friend then I recommend!

Nice little neighborhood Irish Pub style bar. Atmosphere is great and service was prompt. The grilled chicken sandwich and cucumber tomato salad is delicious! They seem to have live music regularly which is a great touch. I will definitely be back.

Best bar in MOB town. Maybe it is the conecuh burger or maybe it’s the stout. Maybe it’s the live music or maybe it’s the relaxed atmosphere. Whatever it is that I like the most, the important thing to know is I LIKEIT. Some people criticize my strict standards when dining out but you won’t get any flack if you choose this place. Drive, walk or ride a bike down to Callaghan’s today and see what it means to be living. «You can’t drink all day if you don’t start in the morning.»

Their bacon cheese burger –YUM!- was perfectly messy, which really is the way a burger should be! No french fries though, I guess it’s the fancy«social club» thing, you get cole slaw or potato salad choices. This place is very popular, therefore it can get very busy at peak times, so if you don’t want to wait try off-peak. I’d like to go back & sit at bar!

This is a great neighborhood dive bar in an interesting part of Mobile. They have a consistent live music schedule and there is always a good mix of folks of all ages. They also have quite a decent Sunday brunch offered alongside their regular menu so you get a good selection that should make most folks happy. Of special note is this is probably one of the few bars outside of New Orleans that is just like a neighborhood New Orleans bar where they serve good food and everybody is friendly unless you bring a rude carpetbagger attitude. I’ve never had any problems with the service and always found it to be attentive. The burger is claimed to be the best in Alabama which might be true but I’ve definitely had better but since I’m from NOLA I’m spoiled with awesome food all the time so it isn’t a fair comparison. If you’re looking for an authentic neighborhood dive bar experience this is probably your best option in Mobile. If I lived in Mobile this is where I would end up spending most of my social time.

Very good food. Nice Irish pub but poor service. It took us close to an hour to get our food. The waitress said something about them putting in their orders in «waves» and that we missed the wave. Working in all facets of a small restaurant when I was younger, I have never heard of such practices, nor can I comprehend the logic or the process of a ordering«wave.» I think it’s more likely that they simply forgot our order(other people were sat down after us, ordered, served and left before we got our sandwiches). I suppose they had their own«wave.» An apology could have gone a long way, and maybe comping our sodas. Instead the waitress(manager?) invented some half baked excuse for their poor performance.

Place is a load of fun, the burgers are very good, and they have a good beer collection. The live music was fun. My issues and reason for only 3 stars are: 1. The place was packed but they were not seating customers. Instead you had to hover in hopes of getting a table. They should not make customers fight for tables. 2. They don’t serve fries. 3. If you want Jalepenos added to your burger your out of luck. 4. No ranch dressing. Sorry that’s a thing for me.
