Probably the best seafood joint in the entire state of Alabama. Everything was great, customer service is the best. It’s a must try of you’re in the Mobile area, you will not be disappointed.

My favorite place to eat cooked crawfish. Been several times. Hands down in flavor. Place is made for carryout than dine in

Great royal red shrimp. Decent prices for local fair. Cleanliness in dining area could be improved. Staff was disinterested and distracted mostly.

Really good food and huge portions! We went based on the Unilocal reviews and were unsure when we arrived but it didn’t disappoint. Most people were waiting for carry out orders but there is a nice dine in area. Really enjoyed the fried shrimp and crawfish. Portions were large. The 2 seafood plate was easily enough for 3 – 4 people!

This is one of Mobile, AL more accessible Seafood Restaurants though they have many. I am from NY, and have been here twice during my visits to Mobile. They are more known for their crawfish when in season, but also sell ice, and raw fish to take home-along with a menu full of other seafood items. Parking: Lots of Parking. Interior-could use some improvement-but its put together to include seating area for dine-ins, and also a waiting area for take out. The food is really well seasoned-and the price ranges from decent to pricey-depending on what you get. My biggest concern is the customer service here-or the lack of. My last visit wasn’t the best. The menu is a bit confusing to someone who isn’t a regular, and the staff did not help at all. They don’t smile-look miserable and didn’t take the time to explain or make suggestions, and I spend $ 60+ and kept having to ask questions and got charged separately and ended up paying way more in the long run. I ordered one of the big to go trays of seafood-and a fried item-which they forgot to give me. Expect okay to good food-but not service.

Good price at 3.89 on crawfish, perfectly boiled and perfectly spiced. Early season so not all large, but very good, nonetheless.

As soon as we saw the outside of this place I thought it might MAYBE be overhyped. Then going inside and seeing the handrails ready for very long lines — yup, perhaps touristy, definitely hyped hard! So here goes… We ordered the 4 fish dinner with crab claws, shrimps, oysters, and fish(all fried) along with the gumbo and 2 pounds of crawfish. The gumbo was very good. Not too spicy. The crawfish was also very good. If you’ve never had crawfish, just think of a tiny lobster. All the fried food, while a touch similar, was very good and the breading was actually tasty, not just there. All in all, it’s well worth a visit, but the food isn’t night and day better than other seafood places in the area and it’s definitely not inexpensive. Beware that there could be a wait of 15 – 30 minutes for your order to be prepared, so with a long line, you could be there a while. Also, we visited at 4PM on a Saturday, so while it was steady, it wasn’t busy. The fish we ordered was catfish but I’m pretty sure we got flounder. We got fries instead of the okra we ordered. We didn’t get our drinks. And a number of the shrimps(both fried and in the gumbo) were not completely shelled as we spit out some shell and tail a few times. This tells me that popularity and volume means more than quality and accuracy. It’s unfortunate since the latter is far more important to me, if not to them.

I am from louisiana and was on a business trip. Was told crawfish is great and the crawfish was great just a little too salty not too bad though… the snow crab legs were the best I’ve had!!! I ordered potatoes onions and mushrooms the onion was chopped up which in louisiana we are used to whole onions so that was a downer bc they were overcooked other than that everything was amazing and on my next business trip I will def stop here…

Last year this place came highly recommended. They had fresh seafood, great service, and reasonable prices… WELOVEDIT! We went back this year, and… NOMUDBUGS! WHAT? How do you not have MUDBUGS and it’s in your name??? We loved this place a year ago, but they should change the name to Crabs, Oysters, Fish, Shrimp, and everything else except MUDBUGS! They get 1 star until I go back and they have MUDBUGS!!!

Stopped here on the way back to NOLA from Pensacola. Unilocal brought me here on a crab leg search. Friendly people. Ordered crab legs shrimp sausage corn and potatoes. It was okay. They seasoned it weirdly and put butter on everything. Too much butter. After we got back on the road stomach pains came and stayed all night. I just wanted some good crab legs. I don’t know what went wrong.

This place is huge! Great selection of seafood — we ordered their Gumbo and Oysters/Shrimp lunch plate. The gumbo was very good, not spicy so I added hot sauce. Tried & loved their fried okra, hush puppy & oysters on my friend’s lunch plate!(I didn’t eat the shrimp because they were not deveined). There was more than enough food in the box for both of us. Reasonable prices compared to Gulf Shores.

Amazing, great fresh seafood, lots of choices, feed yourself or 50 others, party? They got you covered, bbq bam, crawfish fresh they steam them if you want. They have great selection of fresh fish available to cook yourself, crab legs, crab claws, beautiful gulf shrimp, gumbo was great, manager took care of slight issue, so get over here for some fabulous seafood. Great prices, great quality.

My go to place for crawfish — crawfish is always fresh, well seasoned and you seldom find a dead one; I have never had a dirty crawfish from these guys either. Besides crawfish, I have bought snapper and speckled trout there and have been very pleased with the quality of fish. Service has always been prompt and friendly. The store itself is very clean; there’s an area for patrons who want to dine in. I am glad that they have expanded and are doing so well.

OMG My friend and I were in Mobile and she took me here. I had never had Royal Red Shrimp. They even steam them there to eat in or out if you wish. As I was eating these all I could say was WOW! We were back in Mobile a couple of weeks later and she said where would you like to go to eat. I said Mudbugs? So we went again. Same experience. great food and great service.

This place is literally on the loop! There is now a dine in option! Loving the new place! Don’t be fooled by the name, they have way more than just crawfish mud bugs. Don’t get me wrong, but their crawfish is the bomb here! Besides crawfish, the lunch special, 6 inch po boy is delicious. They pile on the shrimp, making it impossible to actually close the sandwich ! Therefore you would have to pick at the sandwich and eat some of these yummy shrimp. I’ve also recently ordered the fried oyster lunch special! The oysters tastes fresh and crunchy. It’s almost like you can taste the ocean! Not over cooked like some other places. Normally I don’t like cooked oysters but this place makes it just right! Comes with tons of fries and two hush puppies. The wait may or may not be long depending on when you arrive! Don’t be afraid to try this place out! It looks weird on the outside, but well worth it! Parking can be tricky. My recommendation is don’t park in the front. it’s harder for you to leave quickly to enjoy the food!

Stopped by this place at the recommendation of a family friend because they said the crawfish were better than where we had been going and I have to admit that they definitely were! Visited about 4:30 in the afternoon and at first wasn’t too crowded but gradually they started getting more and more crowded, found out they close at 7:30 which is a bit early down here. Got their 10# special which is 10 pounds of crawfish, 5 ears of corn, 1 pound of potatoes, and 1 pound of sausage which was more than enough for my immediate family and some of my extended family. Food is great, delicious, popping hot, but since they are so popular you have to get there early! Also if you are not into crawfish, they have pretty much every other kind of seafood plus chicken if you have a picky eater in your party. Will definitely be coming back on the next trip.

This place has a split personality-the fried seafood was below average, overcooked and just not very good. The boiled crawfish, on the other hand, might have been the best I’ve EVER had. They were perfect, tender and flavorful. The gumbo had lots of seafood-a big plus-but the roux was some kind of tomato base as if it was out of a Campbell’s soup can. Crawfish-5+ stars Gumbo-3.5+ stars Fried shrimp and fish-2 stars Go here for the Crawfish, like their name suggests.

We were expecting guests from out of town and they wanted snapper. My usual place didn’t have that, so I ended up at Mudbugs. Wow! This place has a huge selection of fresh seafood! Some of the fish were already filleted, but most of them were whole. It’s all laid out on ice and you just pick what you want. The fish I wanted was whole fish, so they filleted it for me while I waited. I asked the guy how fresh the fish was and he told me they picked it up off of yesterday’s boats. It doesn’t get much more fresh than that! I ordered 3 red snapper, a speckled trout, and 2 ½ pounds of royal reds. The total came to over $ 90. That seems a little high, but it was a lot more fish than expected. We had enough to feed 6 people, and enough left over to make fish tacos the next night. I’m still loyal to my usual place, but when I want a particular kind of fish or shrimp, or when we’re having guests, this is my new go-to place.

This place is definitely 5 stars! Clean restaurant and fish market in one. You don’t need utensils, just napkins and there are plenty! You walk in smelling the crawfish boil. Yum! For $ 15 you get 3 pounds of huge crawfish with sausage, potatoes and corn. Don’t pass this one by!
