A wonderful little place to visit. I personally walk over from work on a weekly basis to pick up a Lagniappe to keep up on the current news in Mobile. Al is almost always there along with his wife sharing a smile and providing good conversation. The hotdogs are simple but delicious and the rest of the food is the same. It is all classic Americana. The décor is simple and is mostly pictures of Al and his various locations but that only adds to the charm of this venue.

Horrible. I had a chili cheese dog. The dog itself was tasteless and the chili tasted like it came out if a can. The cheese is cheap melted cheese wiz. I know I’m a hot dog snob from Chicago but I have had better dogs at gas stations. I ended up throwing it away.

This place is fantastic! Great food, good prices, and with a very mom and pop feel to it that I personally love. I saw one reviewer complain that it’s mostly hot dogs, but let’s face it — it’s in the name, lol. If you don’t like hot dogs, you probably shouldn’t come. But I love hot dogs, and with all the toppings free, I love to pop in, order my food, talk to Al(he’s a very nice guy) and stuff my fave with a covered dog that I didn’t have to open 5 different jars to make myself!

Not so good. Hot dogs are the first thing on the menu with lots of other things, even gyros and the like. Not a good idea I think. Probably should just focus on the hotdogs and things would improve. A basic hotdog with whatever toppings you want, plus a side and drink is about $ 5– way overpriced for what you get. I got the regular hotdog with cheese and pickles. The cheese was just the sauce kind you would get on nachos. No relish available-just pickles. The ambiance just seemed cheap and dirty. The café next door was advertising 2 hotdogs for a $ 1. Maybe we should have gone there. Wouldn’t it be nice if we had a REAL gourmet hotdog place in Mobile?
