Moberly Five & Drive

This movie theater is the closest movie theater if you live in Moberly. The parking lot is very big, which makes it easy to get a spot no matter what time you want to see a movie. They have all of the new movies, so they don’t just show indie movies. Inside, there is a pretty basic concession stand, a little arcade, bathrooms, and of course, the theaters. The concession stand is reasonably priced. Of course, they charge more than you would normally pay, but it isn’t too bad. They have bottomless popcorn, which is nice because they let you fill up your popcorn before you leave so you can take some home. The popcorn. is REALLY good. They have butter and salt available too, as well as those «flavor» powders they have at the grocery store.
I didn’t like that they had no other options on their soda fountain besides soda! I don’t drink soda so I couldn’t even order a lemonade. They offer bottled water, but they were pretty expensive. They usually let me get a little cup and fill it up at the drinking fountain. It felt ridiculous, but I did it. If they offered some kind of juice, I would gladly buy it.
The theaters themselves are pretty small, and a little awkward. They have small isles on the sides that consist of two seats and then a large row in the middle. It’s a little awkward looking and I couldn’t imagine feeling comfortable sitting that far to the sides. The theater is usually not that crowded which is nice because there are less interruptions during the movie. The theaters are clean, but not completely clean. Sometimes there is a little popcorn left on the floor, but it isn’t that bad. I didn’t like how the armrests don’t fold up.
What really ruined my experience was the drive-​in. There is a lot of space to park, the screen is large and easily viewed. HOWEVER, the bathrooms are way too far away. If you want to go to the bathroom mid-​movie, prepare to walk across the entire field and into the movie theater. The journey doesn’t end when you get there, either. The bathrooms nearest to the drive-​in were packed when I went. There were only two stalls in the woman’s AND the privacy level was very low. The bathrooms were overflowing with people and really dirty because people wanted to get in and out as fast as possible. Trying to take a child to the bathroom was a nightmare. A positive of the drive-​in was that they sometimes do a double feature and you can stay for two movies!
Overall, this movie theater is alright. The popcorn is really good and they have new movies to see. The theaters aren’t that crowded, which is nice. The bathrooms for the drive-​in were ridiculous when I went. They only have sodas to choose as drinks and the bottled water is pretty expensive which really upset me. This isn’t the nicest looking theater I’ve been to. It looks pretty basic, but it serves its purpose.
