Went to thanima last night for a private party. My uncle had reserved it for his anniversary party. The chicken appetizers were good but mostly bones. The beef cutlets were awesome! We each had at least 4 lol. They had a buffet of kerala food with some north indian dishes as well. I had rice, butter chicken, and saag paneer. All of these were good. I heard everyone saying that the beef was really good. We all also liked the mango pickle. The interior is a little gloomy and it’s in a shady strip center, but I’d probably go back for the same buffet.

The food here is great if you really crave for authentic South Indian or more specifically Kerala food. The Buffet is a great way to taste the multiple cuisines. For those of you who are new to Kerala food, please research before ordering or eating the food. Also for ppl expecting great ambiance or customer service pls come over for food and nothing else.

We hadn’t tasted Kerala food for a year and were happy to find this place on Unilocal. We went there on a saturday for lunch, ordered«kerala meals», and were pleasantly surprised to find it quite good. Beef fry and fish curry were included, which was a bonus. And the quantity was more than enough for 2 so we boxed the leftovers and relished it in the evening. Overall, my wife and i were pleased with the visit. The buffet is only served on Sundays and you may find the place crowded and short staffed on sundays. Thats because its a family run business and they do not have extra help. But if you want to enjoy authentic kerala food choose any other day and you won’t be disappointed.

Had food catered from here at *several* recent events and it was all really good. It costs $ 10/person appx and you get 3 meats and 2 vegetable or something similar + appetizer and dessert and pickles… the food was fresh and really good. Our American friends liked the butter chicken and naan and our Indian friends liked the goat pickle. Don’t forget to try the chicken 65 – perfect amount of spice. Not a fan of their dessert options – fruit salad is ehhh and gulab jamun is either frozen or from a can. The restaurant itself looks weird and lacks décor or any level of classiness but at the end of the day, it’s the food that counts.

Food okay and overpriced. Had better south Indian dishes at other places around that area.

HOrrible customer service and food quality, i doubt the cleanliness standards as well, not sure it meets the City’s requirement. Went there for afternoon buffet, most of the food was cold and not cooked well. Easily one of the worst indian restaurent in Houston Metro. The owners don’t seem to care at all.

Went there at 2.45pm on a Saturday towards the tail end of the buffet. No one was there to serve, food was luke-warm/cold and had to serve myself. But it was awesome! Best Kerela food/South Indian food in Houston. Guess i should go when hte buffet starts at 12…
