I have a newborn that was given a prescription for Prevacid in compound form. Walgreen’s was our first choice till they indicated a 24 hour turn around was required for compounds. They then suggested Ed’s. After driving there I was provided a quote for an even $ 90 of a 30 day supply and a turn around time of 3 – 4 hours. I decided to call around as I knew prevacid itself was not that expensive as it’s an over the counter drug. For a 28 day supply the costs is $ 12. Thus this pharmacy wanted an extra $ 70-$ 80 to spend 20 minutes making it into compound form. Honestly that is ridiculous. Their attitude the entire time was more of a bother as I honestly think they didn’t want to spend the time handling my prescription. I decided to call Glenn Lake Pharmacy just down the street near Lowes. They quoted me $ 20 less and a turn around time of 20 minutes. Based on the general attitude and outrageous cost we won’t be going there for anything if possible. Glenn Lakes and Walgreen’s is far better. You don’t get an attitude, the service is far greater, and the prices are lower.

I wasn’t impressed with the customer service. I’ll take one of the national chain pharmacies over this poor rendition of an old-time country store.

The place is in desperate need of a face-lift. I am guessing it has probably looked the same since it opened. However, the staff is friendly, and they do their own compounding. I often go here for my mom, because even though one of her prescriptions is very common, none of the area major chains keep it in stock. For that alone they are a life-saver. They do have a small selection of products there, but I am guessing many go here for their compounding services.

It’s a 2nd hand post office. Don’t think that I’m ever going back here again. I will just drink to the regular post office. Cash only if your going to mail or buy stamps
