We enjoy coming here! It’s clean, they obviously pride themselves on providing excellent service and the food is superb! The fajitas and borracho beans are my favorite, along with a cold Corona beer! Definitely a favorite!

I’ve yet to check out any of Taco Palenque’s Houston locations, but glad I was a able to try them, in McAllen of all places. The fact that I could get fideo(a chicken broth and tomato-based Mexican noodle soup) from a drive-thru window nearly blew my mind. You can also get menudo for the road as well. Their salsas were exceptionally good — especially the salsa verde. Never EVER will I go to another Taco Cabana(blech) or Taco Bell again. Taco Palenque def wins the«Mexican fast food with drive-thru» category.

See these all over south Texas and figured I’d try it. I asked what was popular and they said fajitas so I got a fajita taco for $ 4.29 which is pricey in my opinion for a single taco but it’s Texas so maybe it’ll be massive. Nope, standard size :(. Tastes good but a little chewy and tons of sauces to choose from which is a plus. But for a fast food joint the value isn’t there for me.

Its Mexican fast food, parking is not the best BUT if it’s late night and you need something close to home cooked. This is the place

We finished our meal at 7PM, and the attention we recieved from everyone was amazing! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted, our server was attentive and asked if we needed anything, brought us boxes, etc, and we were wished a great night when we walked out. The cashier greeted and acknowledged every single customer, which is always nice! Maybe I’m making a huge deal about customer service, but it can make or break a restaurant and a family dinner. I ordered the #2(I think), which is the two Tacos Caseros combo. They came with a huge drink and a big side of Fideo soup for less than $ 8. Delicious and cheap!!! Remember, they have a salsa bar and free chips. I’ve been to other locations here in the valley, but this one is AMAZING. My entire family and I enjoyed eating here today!

Traditional Mexican fast food. Don’t add hot sauce to any thing until you try your food! It just might set you on fire as served. Fast and very inexpensive. Order at the counter and they will call your number in Spanish and English. The menu is in Spanish, but the señorita that took our order spoke English

Good food but a little pricey. The beans and cheese tacos are delicious and also the fajita tacos. Down fall it is always busy. The people are always friendly.

Highly overrated by people I met during my time living in Mission, this place cannot hold a candle to Taco Cabana! Fajitas were always tougher than shoe leather and tasted like they hadn’t been seasoned, rice and beans were decent, not not worth for the price you pay, but still you could do worse, like go to Taco Bell!

The food here is awesome! The meat is moist and flavorful. Even though the food is good this place is WAY overpriced.

Great food. but avoid the drive through. They ALWAYS get the order wrong. I don’t know if it is language barrier or what, but you will be pissed when you get home. Save the headache and just go inside.

this place is amazing: the food rocks my world 24⁄7 even on holidays, its clean, and the staff is super friendly. i live for this place. like seriously. being a vegetarian, i have a hard time finding a good taco place but palenque accommodates me every time and at every location. the salad/salsa bar has everything youd want to accompany your meal as well.

Pros for veg people: — Unlimited free self-serve chips — Unlimited free self-serve salsa bar — Delicious papa a la mexicana Tip about the salsa bar: if you really want guacamole, pay for extra with your order because the salsa bar guacamole is watery and gross. The guacamole you have to pay for is well worth it: thick, fresh and delicious. Basically, you can order papa a la mexicana and then make a meal out of the chips and all the stuff from the salsa bar. Cons for veg people: — The beans are cooked with lard, so definitely not veg :-(

The beef fajita tacos are so good. I ordered a beef fajita plate for me and a child plate for my son. The regular fajita plate was a very large portion and i was not able to finish it. After that, I always order the child plate with a fajita taco. You get an extra tortilla and therefore you’re really getting two tacos for about $ 5.00. The child plate comes with rice, refried beans and a small portion of lettuce and tomato. This is one of my favorite restaurants to get beef fajita tacos. Of course, they have other options too. The breakfast tacos are also very tasty. I also enjoy their tostadas with beef. The variety of salsas is incredibly good and you can also get chips to munch on while you wait for your order to be ready. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Holy guacamole. This place was amazing. When the guys from the factory wanted to take me here, I’ll admit, I was disappointed. What is this wannabe Taco Bell? The color scheme offended my hipster sensibilities. But then, we ate there and I changed my tune. First off, all you can eat chips, self serve, and a million salsas! Yes! And the tacos? Full of meat. I was expecting little tiny street style things, so I ordered two. Damn, maybe it’s those Texas portions, but wow, I was ready to burst. Flavor? Good. Solid. Not gourmet, but pretty cravable. I will be back.

I love this place. The food is just as good as the other locations but this one is more modern. It’s also very close to Tinseltown USA movie theater so you can easily access it after watching a movie.
