So great to have this location close to home. We’ve been eating at the Bell St location for years so we were really pleased to find d’Bronx as a new neighbor in the Jo. We enjoy their HEFTY sandwiches, pizza and calzones. The pizza and calzones have a great balance of high quality toppings. Sandwiches are always piled high and dressed just right. Another winner in our house is the apple pie. I’ve never had it made like this anywhere else. It’s not too sweet. Not too tart. Just the right amount of strudel on top. And the crust! Forget about it. So good! If I could nitpick, the Bell St. location makes GIANT pizzas. It would be nice to have this option here too. Another downer, we were recently sick and in need of chicken soup. We picked up two bowls of chicken soup with matzo balls. It was bland and really boring. No other way to put it. I salted it up, peppered it up. But it tasted like a watered down version of low sodium progresso soup. Not awful, but not zesty enough to stand up to the rest of the menu.

Absolutely terrible service, orders usually are always messed up. Somehow veggie sub must mean a turkey club in there dictionary because my sister-In-law who’s a vegan ordered one but got a turkey club instead. She even told them she was vegan but do they listen no. Half the time when I’m here I’m usually waiting forever for my damn food or they get it out fast but with the order wrong. Terrible lazy service! Seriously go back to chef school people. Won’t be back

Outstanding food, quick service from kind people. I will continue to frequent their restaurant.

On Sunday May 15th, food that’s usually delicious, nice service and great ambience, was a complete disaster! The waitress looked unsanitary and was distracted with her cell phone. There were no clean utensils available and when I went up to ask for clean forks, the cook(yes, the cook) had to intervene because the waitress was so busy: and if you guessed cell phone I got some extra sauce for you. Also, the drinks were bad, but the absolute worst, the sauce was burnt. That unpleasant smoke off flavor was terrible. The entire experience makes me wonder if they deserve anybody’s biasness, at all.

Pastrami on rye sandwich, good but it should have been on grilled rye. Roxie was a great server. Plan on her to fix your order.

My made-to-order pizza slices were delivered to my table in about eight minutes. Every bite included plenty of cheese and toppings with a crunchy crust. The service was cheerful, attentive, and efficient. The dining area was clean and nicely furnished, with good background music. Very nice!

I stopped in for a late lunch and quickly was helped at the counter. I ordered a bowl of chicken noodle soup, a small Caesar salad, and a slice of pizza. It took about 10 minutes for the order to arrive at my table but the soup was hot and full of meat and vegetables. The small Caesar salad was fresh and crisp and larger than expected. The only minor disappointment was the slice of pizza. It had plenty of toppings but seemed light on sauce and cheese. I would definitely eat here again.

We’ve been frequenting this d’Bronx since they opened at this location, and have found the food to be good and the employees especially helpful. Not today! Our visit today was marred by exceptionally poor service. They couldn’t get our order right twice, and two different employees argued with me and my wife about issues that should have been resolved in a much more intelligent manner. Needless to say, we won’t be coming back to this place again.

Stopped in for dinner last night, my had a Caesar salad and a slice of cheese pizza. I had a side house salad and a calzone. Service kept this from being a «1». My salad was disgusting and how 2 people looked at it and allowed it to go out of the kitchen is beyond me. My wife’s Caesar was also brown leafs but not near as bad as mine. Cheese pizza was fine. My calzone was large but one entire half was like raw ricotta and none of the 3 toppings I ordered, the other half was pretty good, overload on pepperoni which is good and melted mozzarella. People come in after working all day and just want a decent meal and for whoever is cooking back there, remember Karma’s a «B».

I think this is a popular place for lunch for those who work in the Broadmoor office buildings. I ordered a turkey sandwich for lunch the other day and feel that the food did not taste fresh. My sandwich was just salty. I realize that this isn’t a Katz style deli, but I was hoping that it would have more of that NYC vibe/taste.

We visited last Friday evening around 5:00 and there was nobody in line ahead of us. We were told our pizza would be ready in 20 – 25 minutes. I wish I could tell you what the pizza is like, but we never received our order. After 50 minutes, we were told it was ‘lost.’ I understand that restaurants get busy on Friday nights… I get it. It seemed, however, that they were more focused on their carry-out customers than those in the dining room. We asked for a refund and left. Also, they should serve alcohol if it takes 25 minutes(allegedly) to get a pizza. I’m disappointed because I had heard such great things about this place.

This place has one of the best pizzas in KC except on Sunday. Don’t go on Sunday unless you like raw dough. This has happened to us 5 times so it’s hardly a fluke. Every other day? Awesome pizza!

Out of the way and quiet Just happened to find myself in Johnson County tonight and I was craving a good reuben, only choice Arby’s. …but wait there is a D’Bronx. .turned and made a b line for it. Walked in the door and yeah its not the location of crown center, but I liked it anyway. But how could you not like this place it’s not pre made and being warmed by a light bulb waiting for you to order… it’s fresh and ya you may have to wait 30 minutes but the experience, the aroma, the taste… it’s worth it

Another D’Bronx suburban satellite. This one may be even closer to our house than the one on Metcalf and it seems to be less busy. Service is very fast and incredibly friendly. Tables are cleaned quickly. Food is great, too! Love the pastrami sub! It’s just lacking the variety and ambiance of the original location, hence only four stars, but love that this is a quick handy place to grab a tasty bite.

Had their special pizza. Very good with fresh ingredients. Was told when we ordered it would be 20 minutes but it came out in 10. A little pricey but they only have a large size and even though there was two of us, ended up take half home.

d’Bronx is often overlooked as a Kansas City culinary treasure… O.K., maybe I’m exaggerating a bit, but d’Bronx has been a mainstay on the New York style pizza/deli scene in KC for a long long time. I’ve heard so many different stories as to their beginnings in KC that I still don’t fully understand the d’Bronx history. Regardless, many KC natives fully appreciate the great food served up at d’Bronx Kansas City. I might be in the minority here, but the d’Bronx location here in Mission and he the one not too far away on 39th street by KUMC are my two favorites. Certain things I like better here in Mission. Parking is easier in Mission and seating is somewhat better also. Somewhat petty; yes indeed. The Mission location still has a fairly decent ambiance considering it’s set in a strip center location. Some classify Mission, Kansas as a suburb. I tend to disagree a little, especially with Mission downtown area in close proximity to the d’Bronx. Again, I’m splittin’ hairs here. Not a terrible location by any means. Well, lets get the negatives out of the way… Yes, the customer service has been lackluster at times at the Mission d’Bronx. Often times, you’ll have a few late teens, early 20 somethings running this location. Mis-communication and errors with the orders have occurred. For me personally, this has been the exception and not the norm. Other than those two issues, I’ve had really good experiences at the Mission d’Bronx. The star of the show is undoubtedly the pizza. Some of the best pizza sauce around. Never too much and just the right amount on the pizza. Toppings always taste fresh and crunchy(veggies). Meat’s aren’t overly salty and taste light. Whole pizzas and slices alike are really consistent. d’Bronx has some very good lasagne. Baked in a foil container and easy to take leftovers home. The lasagne sauce has a tangy sweetness to it. Not sure if it’s the same as their pizza sauce. Fantastic veggie salads and their pasta salad is an all-time favorite. The sweet peas that are mixed in their pasta salad is so delicious. Almost all of their sandwiches I’ve sampled are excellent. Plenty of meat and just the right amount of toppings. The reuben is one of the best in Kansas City. Don’t sleep on the desserts at d’Bronx. Chocolate cake is light and fluffy. Cheesecake is excellent. Cookies are very very good. The d’Bronx in Mission Kansas is such a better alternative to a familiar New York style pizza joint across the street. At d’Bronx you’ll normally receive good service without the attitude and consistently good eats.

The only redeeming quality about this location is the food. The service was awful. There were at least 7 younger employees,(too many in my opinion) and most of them were messing around behind the counter. Then one girl started snapping at her coworkers right in front of us. Then while we were eating a young girl asked us if we needed anything, and we hadn’t realized she worked there because she was dressed in nothing similar to the other employees, and nothing suggesting she worked there. The other thins that made our visit unpleasant was the other customers, I know this was not the restaurant’s fault, but all of the people around us were rude and literally stared us down the entire time we were there. The food was good, but based on the reviews I had expected better. All in all a let down.

The d’Bronx is delicious! We’ve typically gone to the Johnson Drive location, but I’ve also been to the 39th street and Crown Center location. Regardless of which place you go, you will be in for some tasty pizza! We are big fans of the crust, sauce and toppings. There are a number of options to top your pizza and they use quality toppings and apply them liberally. The calzones are also very good and and you might be hard pressed to finish one by yourself. The side salads are bigger than you’d expect and are almost filling all on their own. All in all, the food is excellent at d’Bronx. There are a number of tasty places to get pizza in KC(Minsky’s, Kelso’s, Pizza Bella) and d’Bronx is right up there in the places I would first consider to go when I’m in the mood for pizza. The store is casual and clean. It’s got a certain strip mall vibe going on but who really cares? This is more family or on the run type of dining. If you are thinking of more of a date night, try the 39th street location for a casual date spot. The service is always quick and attentive.

So I went for lunch today. It’s gorgeous out and I can walk to it from my office. I went in and got in line. The lady answered my questions and took my order giving me the lucky 13 — oh yeah. I filled my water cup, picked up my napkin and spoon and found a nice little table. I got my book out and was barely able to crack it open when my soup arrived. It’s Friday and I got the clam chowder — it came with some crackers. It was hot(burned my tongue — my fault — I couldn’t wait for it to cool) and creamy and delicious. A little salty but it hit the spot. I should have gotten a bowl and called it a day but I wanted to try the Reuben. Which I did. This too was tasty — packed with meat, lots of delicious dressing, crunchy sauerkraut. Just good — but soggy — although I haven’t found one yet that isn’t at least a little soggy. Anyway, good lunch, good service — I had someone at my table several times picking up dishes, offering drinks, crackers, etc. Very good service. okaybye. Aimee

I love that I can call in my order and my food is ready in less than 10 minutes. My personal favorite is the cheese pizza! If your in the mood for a great dessert the apple pie is too die for! If you looking for a great pizza place you’ve found it! Plus the people working there are friendly.
