I am really surprised to see 2 five star ratings for this doctor and the negative review is under«not recommended». I went to Dr. Waldman because the doctor in his office I was referred to did not do spine issues. I explained to Dr. Waldman that I have had spinal fusion and pain most of my life but that in a very short period of time I have experienced excruciating pain in my lower back that is completely different than anything I have had in the past. Dr. Waldman took very little time with me, barely looked at an x-ray I had, blew off my questions with short, curt answers and when I asked if we couldn’t get an MRI to view tissue rather than just bones, he told me he couldn’t justify it to the insurance company and told me that I «have a bad back» then told me to get 6 weeks of physical therapy 2x a week and come back. Although i know that exercise will strengthen my back, I also think that 6 weeks of physical therapy at twice a week would cover the cost of an MRI. Of course he could have justified an MRI to the insurance, he’s a doctor — albeit one that does not care to hear a patient. I will not be going back and am getting recommendations for a 2nd opinion — I really have no faith in his.

Dr. Waldman took the steps to properly diagnose my knee injury(including an MRI) and successfully treated me without surgery(much to my surprise) and I was pain-free and mobile a short time later, able to spend two weeks hiking the mountains of the Kaibab from elevations varying from 5000′ to 9800′. He literally saved my vacation! I don’t trust doctors… I trust Jerald Waldman. That’s the greatest nod I can give.

Dr. Waldman runs a tight ship and the Community Orthopedic Medical Group is a top notch facility for your medical needs. I came down there for an MRI on my ankle and answers on how to rid myself of what seemed to becoming a chronic injury. The MRI was painless and I got to keep the disposable shorts from the scan as a souvenir. The true difference came down to Dr. Waldman’s game plan for preventing my ankle from further injury: Physical Therapy. Two words that hadn’t been uttered by the three other doctors I had visited previously and will hopefully make it so I never make another appointment regarding my ankle again… I’m not sure if this is the difference between the OC and LA, but this is one of only a few practices that have been to that host a free private lot. Bonus points there…
