This is hands down the best sushi restaurant! The food is delectable! If you truly enjoy traditional Japanese you can request these options. The staff is always friendly and sweet. The restaurant is a bit small so if you want to sit at a table or the sushi bar on a Friday thru Sunday… Call and make a reservation. I have been going here for 20 years and love it! Shin is the man behind the sushi bar and an amazing chef!!! I hope you enjoy Shin sushi as much as I do every time I go there!

Always fresh. Always tasty. Always friendly. It’s a small unassuming place that you will miss if you blink. But don’t. It’s totally one of the best sushi bars in the OC.

I was excited to try out this place after reading the good reviews but left disappointed. Got a few rolls and the fish was served at room temp on a vey hot day. We tried several sashimi items on the menu, wanting to give the restaurant chances to redeem itself, but I can’t find anything good to say, sorry.

This is a very good Sushi spot, and the prices reflect that point! Much better than you would expect in this strip mall location!

Shin is fantastic! Seriously. The quality of the sashimi is better than anything we have had in this entire area. We felt the pricing was very fair for the super-high level of quality and portion sizes. We ordered twice as much as we should have because we were expecting the same meager portions that the rest of the industry deems acceptable. The service was exceptional. The environment was very clean and inviting, the other patrons were very kind, friendly and, really connected with the chef’s and wait staff. Very comfortable and inviting for a small space. If you are new to Shin, we would suggest the Avocado Dip hand roll, the 12 pc Sashimi Sampler, and the Special Kathi Roll. The Seafood Salad is also great, a refreshing change to the standard seaweed salad… but it is HUGE. We were half way through sharing it and realized that we need to slow down to be able to handle the rest. :) We will definitely come here any time we are in the area.

Move to the neighborhood 3 years ago, tried all the sushi bar that we can find, disappointed one after another. Finally discovered Shin Sushi, an authentic Japanese sushi place with high quality food. I am a picky eater that was impress with what they serve. Go early, the restaurant get packed rather quickly in the evening.

We were the first to sit down and was told to go to end, not realizing there was a reservation, i asked if we could sit where we could see the chef, we were guided to the end, which was fine, i sat down, the person with me said he just said if you don’t like it you can leave, i didn’t believe it, i thought he said you can sit any where in the restruant, then I asked, him, did you just say if we don’t like it we can leave, he said yes. While sitting at end i was joking and said bummer then we dont get to see our wonderful chef, this was before hearing we could leave. never have I been treated like that for doing nothing. Pompous owner or chef, not sure if he was both, I was really looking forward to eating here, we awaited outside a half hour before they opened, even the waitresses was in dis belief.

The sushi was very good, the fish was fresh, the rice was perfect, and the portions were big. The service was very good. We went early on Friday, 5:30 the place was kind of empty but as we were leaving people started to arrive. I think locals know about this place. We will be back again.

Well. I can no longer say I have never left a poor review. We tried our local Shin Sushi 10yrs ago and recall disappointed. Today it was another disappointment. For example, we ordered the $ 25 Sashimi platter. The quality of fish was good, the quantity was poor and the serving was without salad, rice nor miso soup. We literally had fish shavings, nearly ½−2/3 the size of a traditional cut.
