Great service! Their menu was so so… unless you order from the Chef Special, the salmon was amazing!!! However their chicken mole was dry and paste-ty!!! They charge for extra tortilla!!! They don’t give enough tortilla for their fajitas! I would go back for the seafood only, the rest not so special. I have to commend their waiters, everyone was very cordial and friendly!

The food is great as well as the service. but ever since the manager changed, it has all gone downhill. the prices have skyrocketed. I use to love coming to tortilla flats, but it now has changed dramatically. if you do come, their fajitas are great. but the price is sure to be hefty.

We come here for brunch and taco tuesday a lot. Brunch is good, although prices have gone up. Large portions and food is decent. Love the view on a Sunday morning and service is good. Taco Tuesdays service has not been great lately, I think the waitress that use to be really good is no longer there, but it is still a good deal. Personally, I think prices on the regular menu are wayyyy to high! I will continue to come back for the view and service, thanks Chris & Carlos!

It’s too bad the food is no Bueno because this location is awesome! I have tried this three times, the last was because it was a friends birthday. I have tried several different meals and they were all very bland. This may be a good place for cocktails and chips on the patio though. The restaurant was not clean enough for me and the men’s room is absolutely disgusting. You can tell the men’s room has not had a serious cleaning in many years. It is the same as when the old restaurant, Tortilla Flats, was there. Hopefully they go out of business soon and we finally get a good restaurant in there because I love the location.

DON’T GO! If you want overpriced Mexican food, terrible choices of beer and want to watch a pro game on a 12 inch TV then go here! Otherwise try to find something else. I’m sure you can swing a dead cat in the direction of any other Mexican restaurant and hit one that you will be much happier with.

I was overly impressed with my server Nick the time I dined at Haciendas. The street fish tacos are to die for and I only ask to sit in Nicks section for his quick service and genuine personality.

When you take your girlfriend out to a date, everything needs to go perfectly. Hacienda was just that! We were sat immediately at a spot that was so romantic. The soft glow, everything about it set the scene. Dinner and drinks were great, we came on Tuesday, so obviously we had tacos! I had the 3 chicken tacos plate and she had the beef tacos. Both were so great! Our server Nick was such a help making sure our drinks were full and our food was handled quickly. Such a fan, it made a great date night even better. I would highly recommend a trip down. Nothing is more romantic that drinks overlooking a lake. Cheers!

I really liked the spicy salsa that came with the complimentary tortilla chips, and the setting on the lake is a nice view. That’s about the end of the good, though. The guacamole was pretty bland and didn’t taste fresh. The service is just awful. The place was nearly empty and yet it took forever for the waiter to do anything. There were incorrect things as well. We ordered a Cadillac margarita pitcher and we asked the waiter after having a drink of it and we were told it was Cadillac, but tasted pretty bad and it definitely DIDNOT have grand marnier. I also ordered chicken enchiladas but I was given shredded beef. The waiter was MIA for a while so rather than asking for a replacement I just ate the beef. It was pretty bland. Just some beef wrapped in a tortilla with hardly anything else to it. For the prices they charge here, which are about comparable to Javier’s prices, I would not recommend this place at all. The quality here is maybe that of el torito.

THEOWNERISCRAZY, RUDE&SHOULDNOTBEINANYKINDOFBUSINESS!!! WOW, where do I begin dear consumers, it’s the holiday’s and we all have relatives visiting, sharing great memories; food always plays a big part at this time of year! In saying this, I’m so saddened to write this review as my family had always gone to Tortillas Flats on and off for decades as the food was great and the view always spectacular! My sister and I went to La Hacienda by the Lake recently, my first time there as I just recently moved back to town. The waiter was pompous, didn’t even bring me my proper order, too busy with average female at next table pumping her with free drinks! Food was below average, place was filthy, look in the cracks of tables and seats or a flower vase near you! My bill was incorrect and I was charged twice, I noticed a day later. I took the time out of my busy schedule to talk to the owner about this problem, I thought this would be handled quickly and in an amicable way! I WASWRONG!!! BEWARETHISWILLHAPPENTOYOU! Don’t believe me, read other reviews! THEOWNERCAMEOUTREADYTOFIGHTWITHMEEEE!!! Really? WHY??? What did I DO?! I brought them business and ate their BLAND food in a filthy restaurant! HECAMERIGHTUPTOMEANDGOTINMYFACEANDSTARTEDSCREAMINGATME! Never has anyone done that to me in a business establishment. He thought he’d scare/intimate me. I stood my ground, never have I been so insulted, right back in his face as if a subhuman can scare me and I asked only common sense questions for example, as if I wasn’t charged at all for first bill how is it pending on my account when he said he didn’t run it thru the first time. All I asked for was a cancellation or a void transaction receipt. He kept showing me my full cost bill as if that meant anything. He could not show me any proof that my card had not been charged twice. I must say its not about the money but it’s the principle!!! In addition the open rudeness and don’t give a damn attitude from the owner before he even meets you must mean this happens all the time!!! Stay away. I would have given this place a negative star but you have to give one star for this review!!! I’m still flabbergasted!!! Happy Holiday’s everyone! God Bless!

My compliments to the chef! My family and I visited The Hacienda yesterday for the first time and were overwhelmingly impressed with their authentic Mexican cuisine. Being Mexican ourselves we tend to be hyper sensitive to the Mexican restaurants we visit. Our hats went off to the chef as every plate was more delicious than the next. I had the shrimp ceviche which I LOVED. I especially liked that they served it on lettuce instead of a tostada. My mom had albondigas soup, my aunty had vegetable soup followed by spinach enchiladas, and my husband enjoyed a shredded beef burrito. The portions were large! The view of the lake was serene and gorgeous. The table had 2 beers and 2 martinis and the bill was only a little over $ 100. A bit expensive BUT worth it! I can’t wait to try their Sunday champagne brunch soon!

I don’t hate you… but I don’t love you either. You are like the left over lasagna mom made the other day. «is it still bomb?» or should I eat something else. ultimately I end up here twice a month(its downstairs from my office) for their consistent mediocrity tacos served for a dollar every Tuesday with purchase of any soft drink. The staff is always smiles and provide excellent service. If there was a metal for the average Joe, or should I say Jose. Y’all would take the cake. That is all. I’m sorry, but I have to post this. Two stars because my husband likes it, and for the view. My husband and I have been here three times in the past few months and I have to post this. Someone mentioned that they have good seafood chimichanga, so he wanted to try it since his previous favorite restaurant for this has decreased portions and increased price. The first time here, he was very impressed. He really liked the flavor and the amount of shrimp. I, on the other hand, was very disappointed in the quality of the beef fajitas: greasy, tough meat, overcooked and tasteless veggies and way overpriced for the poor quality. He wanted to come back for the chimichanga he had before, so I obliged since he wanted to. This time I tried the beef chimichanga. Again, the beef was dry and tasteless, only this time, not greasy, not juicy either, but not greasy and definitely no seasoning. Ok, third time, I had the beef burritos, not bad and since they were the cheapest meal on the menu, I was ok with them. The most important thing is that my husband is happy. No, I’m not out to please him and give in to his every request. We compromise, and it’s good not to hear him complain about the food. So, I will go back, and maybe try something else. Mainly, I’m writing this because if I am going to go back, I’d like to see some changes. I don’t know how they pass inspection, but some things are just downright disgusting. The glass bottles with fake flowers on the table are growing a great crop of green algae. Please clean them out. The servers come to the table, and we get there early for lunch so we must be their first table, with food crusted clothes. The servers are nice; I don’t blame them. Management is at fault. The last thing I’m going to mention is the tables. Filthy. Crusted with food, as are the chairs. Last week, there were long hairs on our table and my chair. And if you don’t want to throw up, don’t look into the cracks between the wood planks on the table. There’s more old, gross food in them than on my plate. Obviously, management doesn’t care. If I’m going to be nice to my husband and endure overpriced, substandard food so he can enjoy something he likes, please clean this place up. See the pictures I posted…

We came in today for some early dinner. The place was real empty for being a Saturday at 2:30. We noticed that they were having a couple of wedding receptions, with one wrapping up and another just getting ready to get started. If I remember right, the food prices were a lot cheaper… like $ 12.00 for a 2 item combo… not $ 15.00 bucks! The other thing is they seem to have changed a couple of sauces… rellano was blan and the Spanish rice… no favor. Maybe the rental space/lake view there got more expensive.

Order veggie, the meats are overpriced. Here’s the plan: Stick your favorite hot sauce in your back pocket, grab a $ 20 bill, order something vegetarian and one Mexican beer. The seafood prices are astronomical, but the veggie prices are great. I can confirm that the veggie tostada($ 11) is very filling, tasty, and satisfying. 5 star lake view, 4 star quality, 3 star prices, but the veggie prices are what redeems it.

Don’t waste your money or time coming to this place. The prices are high and the portions are small. The drinks are overpriced and guess what — they use really small margarita glasses(shocker). I ordered an extra shot and when my drink came there was no shot. I reminded the waiter and he said, Oh, I poured it in your drink! Whatever, not worth my time to bother with this place. They just want your money!

Huge venue, family friendly and tons of outdoor seating. Plus an amazing Sunday brunch menu! For $ 18 I got a spinach and mushroom omelette that came with breakfast potatoes and beans plus a side of fruit and this huge piece of Mexican bread. PLUS every brunch entrée came with not one but two glasses of champagne! Needless to say I didn’t need to eat the rest of the day. Great deal and great service… definitely recommend and would definitely go back next time I’m in the OC!

I was a little hesitant to come here based on the Unilocal reviews, but I’m glad that I did! Hubby & I made reservations for 5pm on a Sat., as we weren’t sure how busy it would be so we thought we’d better make reservations. We had also requested a lake view seat. As soon as we got there, we noticed that it wasn’t crowded at all. Perhaps because it was still early? We were seated at a table overlooking the lake, and I was impressed with the beauty of the restaurant. I even said to my husband, «don’t you feel like we’re in a resort?» I ordered a strawberry margarita to start, and it was very refreshing and just the right amount of alcohol. The chips and salsa came out quickly and they were refilled promptly. For dinner, I got the hard shell carnitas taco and carnitas enchilada combo. It came with rice and beans. The portions were great and the food was good! Another bonus is that it came out super FAST! I was so impressed! Perhaps my experience was better than others due to the fact that we arrived during a slow period. Overall, I enjoyed my dining experience and would definitely return again!
