Van’s Nails

Exstreamly dirty, From instruments to floor! I saw no type of sterilizing! Not that satisfied with my gel nails.

DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON!!! This used to be my go to nail salon, I would always go to see Sam (which is a great nail tech) unfortunately the day I went to get my nails done he was out. I’m a VERY picky person so normally I would just leave and come back a day when he is there but did I do that, NOPE. I let Kim do my nails that day, reluctant as hell but i gave her the benefit of doubt. STUPIDEST MISTAKE EVER!!! First I asked for an acrylic full set with an ombré pink to white (baby boomer style) with the acrylic. From start to finish I was irritated with her service she cut my finger SO MANY TIMES!!! Before she began I explained I did NOT want my actual nail cut and she told me that it is not an option and that you have to do so in order to do the acrylic nails, so I very calmly said thank you but I think I’ll come back another day, in which she very quickly said oh you don’t want to cut it okay okay. -.- She did the acrylic full set which is about the only damn thing she did right. She did a pink gel nail polish, and at the time I wasn’t to informed on the steps to getting the design I wanted so I let her do it because in my very naïve mind she’s the nail tech so she should know what the hell she’s doing BUT didn’t. After cutting up my fingers /​cuticles, and doing a half ass job on the shape I asked for, and painting my nails she said okay all done 35 $. So I proceeded to telling her that is not what I asked for and it looks NOTHING like the picture I showed her, and she was like oh yeah I know but what you asked for is powder not polish and its more expensive-​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​– I was assuming walking in the design I wanted would be no less than 45 $ at least so I came in prepared to spend money, and not once did she give me the option to do powder or even tell me this would be more she did whatever it was she wanted and sent me on my way-​.- I should have stayed and spoke to the manager that day but I was so livid I just paid and left in tears (not because I was sad but because I was pissed off and didn’t want to be rude) I called the day after when I was able to talk about the situation without sounding like I’m crazy talking, and spoke to the manager and he told me to come in and that they will fix it. So I went in and the manager who said they would fix it gave me the same BULLSHIT excuse that’s powder not polish –_​_​_​_​_​– Yeah I never went back to this nail salon again. This happened probably 3+ months ago and I was gonna let it go but I ended getting a nail infection from this UNSANITARY SALON that I noticed right after I took the acrylic nails
nail is super dented, the lunula is no longer there and i have raw skin in some parts of my lower nail. 3 months ago I got the infection and it still hasn’t gotten any better, in fact it has gotten worse. All in all I paid 35 $ to have my nails look like shit and to get an infection. THANKS FOR NOTHING VANS.

The only reason I’m giving them 1 star is because they do a Great Job on Tinted eyebrows, everything else here is a JOKE. They don’t sanitize anything including the tools for the Pedicure. The staff rushes on your nails and will frequently cut you in the process. Not worth it. Will only go here for the Tinted Eyebrows but everything else I’ll go somewhere else.

I had a terrible experience today. I went there for the first time ever, I usually go to Magic Nails but my mother wanted to try out this place since it’s closer to her house. I totally regret it. I went in for a gel fill in and the lady ended up putting acrylic material to my nails. She tried to charge me $ 36 but I refused to pay that since the lady obviously did not understand enough English as I repeatedly kept telling her it was «a gel manicure». My mani ended up looking horrendous and I’ve never hated my nails this much. The lady in charge tried to help me fix it by polishing down the acrylic and just giving me a gel coat. They look a little better but they are still super thick and they hurt. I’ve never had acrylic before so I’m not sure if it’s supposed to hurt a bit. I’m going to have to go to Magic Nails so they can remove this stuff off my nails and just get myself my usual gel mani. What a waste of money and time this place is!

I just spent an hour and a half waiting to get my eyebrows done. Not an exaggeration — an hour and a half. I was told I was next and when I looked around, the person I was waiting for was tending to another client. When I inquired why this was happening, I was told they called my number «several times» and I didn’t answer. I was sitting right by the counter where the numbers were being called and nothing. I also went and checked several times during that hour and a half and was just consistently told that I was next. These people are a complete waste of time and extremely unprofessional. I will never spend another dime here. Nearly two hours of my time completely wasted due to their lack of organization!

I’ve moved around south Florida a lot but Whenever I need my nails and eyebrows done, or even a pedicure, I turn to Van’s. I’ve been coming to Van’s since 2005 and after today, I will never step foot in that place again. I went in for a full set and a pedicure only to leave with 2 bleeding toe nails. After the tech gave me a couple of ‘sorrys’ and blamed ME for having toes that bleed easy (whatever that’s supposed to mean) she proceeded to try and paint nail polish over my wounds (after I asked her not to) and then tried to put nail glue on them… While my toes were still bleeding out. The woman had the nerve to remind me how much a pedicure costs… As if I was going to pay for injury and insult. I’m done with Van’s nails for good. I’ll post a photo in a minute.

This nail shop is very unsanitary. The nail techs there are all rude. They use the same towels on on every customer they have and their form of sanitizing is using alcohol for everything. I’ve watched tech while using their nail drilling machine cut client in the process of shaping nails and don’t even stop to clean their equipments. The nail polish station is a hot mess, nothing is in order. I would not recommend this place to anybody. OSHA should be contacted regarding this place and their upkeep on their equipments.

I did a mani and pedi there ONCE and never again. My gel nails were horribly done !! They were badly shaped and the guy got an attitude when I pointed it out. In a few days I went somewhere else and got my nails redone properly. The pedicure was the worse. They were done in like five minutes, the paint was sloppy. The tech was rushing and wanted to get me out of there as he had other customers waiting. I’m all for making your money but be professional and do a good job.
EYEBROWS here on the other hand is the bomb and the only reason why I didn’t give them 1 star. I go nowhere else… My lady hooks me up real good. I get nothing but compliments on my eyebrows when they’re freshly done. She takes her time and is good at what she does! She is also very pleasant.

I dislike writing negative reviews… But this place had to get it. First let’s start with my nail «technician», really nice guy, but maybe new to this, asked me three times what color I wanted and all I wanted was white. He cut my nails really short which was a disappointment because it didn’t look good with the design I wanted. They file your nails with the electric filer which I don’t see why if I’m not getting acrylics! I got gel nail polish (he thinned it out with acetone, can you do that to gel polish?) and it didn’t even last me 3 days! By the 3^rd day one nail already chipped by the cuticle and by the 5^th day I had two more chipped! Nail polish did not last even 10 days! Oh and make sure you tell them to use a base coat on your toes because they will NOT! I’ve never heard or experienced that! And I was personally informed by another staff member that if you do not request it they do not use it! Now, I removed the gel and my nails are in the worst condition because of the filing! Now there may be other technicians who know what they are doing but as far as my experience went with mine, super disappointed! Unfortunately I will not be going back! Oh! And he did not sanitize his tools, he literally pulled it out of his drawer and put it right back in when was done with me. EWW!
On a lighter note… the lady who did my eyebrows, yes I went with someone else, perish the thought of me letting the same guy do my eyebrows, she did an amazing job! And for the first time I did not feel ANY pain whatsoever getting waxed. :)

My favorite place to get my mani-​pedi. This business was much smaller when I first became a customer. Over, the years, they have grown so much, it has been really nice to see their growth. What I like the most is the efficiency in which their patrons are served. When you enter, you are asked to sign your name or take a number depending on the service. This helps keep order and unfair skipping that sometimes take place in nail salons. I have never been disappointed as a customer. The staff is very friendly, patient. The Pedicure is quite relaxing for a decent fee. You hands and feet will be very kind to you after a visit to Van’s.

I visited this place over the weekend for a pedicure and Emily did a great job! It was super busy but they seemed to have it organized. I would go back and ask for Emily again! I do recommend arriving a bit early or when they first open if you’re going to go during the weekend.

I only go here to get eyebrows waxed every time they have done a good job. service is fast and affordable

Cons:
Always packed.
Most techs are rushing on you, Is like a factory line, you have to constantly supervise them to do their job right, in 5 minutes they are done with a pedicure and ready to polish!
they tend to give you an attitude VERY RUDE if you show them you won’t allow a crappy job like if your not paying for it?
Pros:
They have many techs and even though is always packed, you don’t have to wait that long– (recommend younger guys or Spanish ladies better).

Efficient, clean, and inexpensive (or as we say in Spanish…“bueno, bonito y barato”) What more do you need? This place is huge so it’s not likely you’ll spend a long time waiting. It’s clean, friendly and most importantly, they do their job well. In short, the only reason I’m giving it four stars instead of five is that because it is so big, bright, and busy, it’s not really the kind of salon where you can go for a relaxing experience. But if you’re in a rush and just need to get the job done, it doesn’t get better than this place.

The nails were ok. Service was ok. Prices decent. Not the best customer experience but I guess it got the job done.

I really like this business. They are very efficient, will not waste your time and maintain a professional attitude at all times. Prices are very reasonable and any grooming you need, it can be found here. I come for the pedicure and waxing services.
My favorite nail tech here is Donnie. He always does me right!
