This is a cute place and if you’re staying within the nearby resort properties, it’s very convenient as well. The place is kind of a one stop shop. Full of restaurants with a variety of cuisine — Mexican, Japanese, seafood, Creole, American, ice cream, New Orleans sno-balls — multiple meals could be had to satisfy every palate. There are also bars and entertainment — rock climbing, putt-putt, arcade, ziplining, carousel. Several boutique shops and souvenir shops are also in the area. This is a perfect place to spend a weekend night or an afternoon on vacation.

I told my wife… It’s not Disney! I see others making the same comparison. Customer service was overall bad. Old security guard at the gate was a jerk. No parking. Adventure Zone had a young girl working counter who obviously hates her job. Credit Card machine was down at Adventure Zone for over a day. Bring cash because lots of kids stuff you need cash to do(boats, gun shoot, etc…) also Adventure Zone takes cash when cc machine is down. The girl at the horse Carousel could teach many about customer service. She was so friendly, kind and considerate. Some people are meant for the service industry and some aren’t. Baytowne needs to weed out the bad customer service, update their technology and make people on the front lines know customer service(like gate entrance guards as well!). Make parking easier because there are more tow away signs than parking signs. After making these many changes it still won’t be Disney but it will be a better experience for kids and families:). As for now it felt like no one wanted us there. Good luck cause we won’t be back :). I give it one star because the girl at the carousel was our best experience.

I cannot say enough good things about Village of Baytown Wharf! My family & I visited during our most recent vacation to Destin, FL. We were so surprised with how much there was to do. Definitely a family vibe, turns into adult fun time at night. We can’t stop talking about going back, will have to make the trip more than once while we are there next summer. There are bars, arcades & shops for kids, old fashioned candy stores, and upscale restaurants. Love it– 5 stars!

If you are not staying in the community & can drive a Golf Cart, the parking situation is crazy during the weekends. I agree with some other reviewers that a lot of the activities for the kids are pretty pricey here. It is still a nice little spot to hang out, but it’s definitely got a PG/family friendly vibe, which is good I guess since so many families travel to the area. We enjoyed the 4th of July Fireworks show it was pretty awesome, despite the crowds we were able to see it very well.

A lot of things to do here for the whole family. The only downfall is all the shops, activities, and food places get there hands in my pockets more than me! Seems like everything is overpriced

A few year’s ago, it was easy and awesome spending an evening at Baytowne Wharf. It’s becoming a clustered mess — too many people and not enough parking(unless you want to park in China). We’re more than willing to valet but it’s usually full too. I like the attractions at Baytowne Wharf, I just wish they’d plan for cars and crowds.

We LOVE this place! We have been several times during our vacation for the evening events such as movie in the park and the fireworks show. It is hard to find so make sure to ask the guard at the entrance! Really great restaurants, playground for the kids, the carousel, the shops are fun, live music. Overall really great experience. We’ll be back!!! Thank yall to the effort you have put into this family friendly place!

I’m not sure if it’s me or Baytowne that has grow up in the past few years, but I really don’t remember walking around drunk at 1am on a Saturday and thinking«Wow this would be a great place to bring a family». Most of the bars I used to frequent are still there(aka Village Door and Graffiti) but there are a lot of additional family oriented activities. If I were 9 I would be going crazy over the rope course and the zip lines. My only criticism of the place is that because they are trying to cater to both the«party tourists» and the«Family Tourists», don’t be surprised when 6 year old climbs up on a stool next to you at the bar. Also,(begin rant) don’t understand the negative reviews that say this place is a «tourist trap». If you don’t want a tourist trap why the HELL are you in Destin. We both know you’re not from here! That’s like saying Vale is terrible because it focuses on Skiing and mountain sports!(end rant)

This review is specifically about the Adventure Zone & ziplines. Overpriced. $ 20 for two short runs of line at a slow speed. JV kids running it who can’t even manage the line order.(Causing frustration and parent adversaries.) Takes forever– like 45 minutes with just 20 people in line. Tourist trap.

Cute village town although it’s a little tricky to get to. You have to go through a security guard to get to the wharf(kinda strange). We love acme in NOLA and surprised to find one hidden in this community. We didn’t eat there but from the sign outside they have some pretty good specials. The sunsets from hammerhead were beautiful. They have bogo specials and a decent happy hour. I will definitely come back and possibly stay in the resort area. We love to golf so being right on the golf course is another plus!

Bars, restaurants, small shops, live music, areas for kids to play, a zip line area, and other stuff. It’s a cute little area to walk around and hangout. I was there on July 4th and there was a quite a bit of people, but it was fun!

During our vacation on Destin Beach, we searched for a place where the kids can play, we can walk, enjoy outdoor restaurant seating, and found the Baytowne Warf to be very pleasant. The atmosphere is very friendly. There was entertainment for kids and grownups alike. There is a carousel, skywalk, zip lining, and other activities for the kids. There is also nicely rated restaurants and bars as well as a selection of ice cream and dessert places. It was not too crowded, and the clientele a bit more«refined» than those we encounter at the Harbor walk. If you are staying in Destin, this is a spot that you must visit!

I expect high prices and a certain touristy feel when I vacation but rarely does all our family needs fit into one destination. Three teen girls and a 8 yr old boy. I could let the teens go, us parents drinks in hand wondering with our eight yr old. Arcades, fun shows, ice cream. … The kids love it and I love any place I feel safe to let my teen girls shop and wonder and us parents have our own fun…

A lot smaller than what I was expecting. Also a PITA to park there if you’re not staying on the property. Only one garage for visitors and you have to share it with all the other visitors or pay for valet.

This is part of a massive, perfectly-manicured resort that has a very corporate, manufactured feel. How do you say, opposite of «mom and pop»? We got a Living Social deal to stay here at the Pilot House. It appeared to be $ 30 cheaper/night than the place we had booked on the beach so we changed our reservations and bought this deal. Turns out we had to pay an additional $ 30 «resort fee» on top of the LS deal cost, so it was the same price as the beach-side hotel we booked and this location is NOT all that close to the beach. There is a free shuttle that takes you to and from the beach, but the thing meanders all over the resort for about 15 minutes before it actually gets you where you want to go. Our room was very clean and relatively updated, but pretty cramped and definitely not stacked with amenities. The view consisted of some bushes outside. We stayed here Labor Day weekend and maybe this was just the off-season but the village area with all the restaurants and bars was eerily empty. It consists of what appears to be all chain restaurants and bars. The village atmosphere feels forced. I don’t know … I live in my favorite city in the US, New Orleans, which doesn’t seem to know inauthenticity. So maybe that’s why this wasn’t appealing. Next time we come to Destin we will stay on the beach.

The Village is pretty cool. This area has a comfortable design and lots and for things to do. Bungee jumping and zip line prices are very reasonable both being under $ 20, which is good because in typical sandestin style, they have found a way to charge a small fee for every thing you want or do here. Oh boy, that sounded snarky. Ahh well, there it is. I stayed on the ocean side but would have enjoyed staying Bayside in the wharf for the convenience of the village. Lots of activities for kids and night activities for adults.
