Well… I suppose that I shall start with the positive aspects of the motel especially. The hot water is HOT! I mean hot. There is a bathroom in every room. Ample parking. The long term residents are for the most part very great people. Location. It’s steps from Vail and beaver creek. Safe and Cheap. Now the horrible other side. This place is filthy. Not the kind of dirt from a couple of days, yet the strong lingering odors of years past. Like mold and death had a child. There is absolutely no service. Don’t lock yourself out by accident or it’s a cold night, that’s true. If by some remote chance the telephone is answered you will find yourself far more likely to be scolded by the proprietor than to be helped. No bathroom door, stupid small room, 7 television channels for real, drafty sometimes sealed shut windows, little heat all pales in comparison with the new owner. This place used to be tolerable due to the absolutely amazing former owner and founder. Free thanksgiving dinner, she remembered your name after being gone for 6 years time, and everyone who stayed there helped out in their own way. Currently I can’t imagine how it is still open. Between blatant fire violations, clearly not being ada compliant, the general way in which the new proprietor speaks with guests, and then there is the restaurant. Hello. Where in the … is the health department? Don’t eat there. I’ve never been in that particular kitchen but I suspect that if they can’t clean the hotel, the restaurant can’t be too spotless. I don’t write reviews and I certainly don’t speak badly of people but I am absolutely mortified by the current state of the turntable.

This place is the epitome of a friendly family style diner. They’re loving. Judy is a saint. Come here if you want to taste a wholesome heartwarming piece of the past. Case in point: I just told them I left them a nice Unilocal review and was asked«what’s Unilocal

At first glance this is just another diner with some awesome shrines to Elvis and Elway. But the breakfast burrito and green chili are in a class of their own. What I wouldn’t give to have a Boo on those hungover Saturday mornings in Denver.

I read the reviews and saw the food was great. I wasn’t planning on stopping near here I was heading to Denver and got caught in a blizzard so got a room here for the night. It was horrible! The room was dirty there was a band ad on the wall the shower head was none existent it was like a hose. I would not recommend.

This is for the restaurant ONLY! And they have the best damn breakfast burritos I’ve ever had in Colorado! I’ve been coming here for going on 15 years. Seriously, this greasy spoon dive of a diner, with insanely slow service, is so worth it for the breakfast burritos. I CRAVE these burritos(the Baby Boo to be specific and I prefer mine with gravy AND green chili), and we regularly plan extra time to come here for breakfast before skiing in Vail or Beaver Creek. We take out of town guests here, and it’s become a favorite for them as well. We’ve only had breakfast here, and all their breakfast offerings are solid: breakfast burritos(yes bears repeating), pancakes, eggs, you name it. DELICIOUS! The décor is incredibly entertaining, if not a bit on the dusty side. The train that runs along the ceiling is fun, though it’s been awhile since I’ve seen it going. The life size Marilyn and Elvis are awesome, as is the awesome history of the local high school preserved in class photos on the walls. Kitschy décor abounds here! It comes across as a little rundown, but the décor combined with the consistently slow service is part of the experience here as you stuff your face with a huge and craveable breakfast burrito! Darla, the owner, is often there working and she is the epitome small mountain town awesome. I can’t say anything about the motel, other than it looks totally sketch and I’d probably rather sleep in my car than ever sleep there.

Turntable Restaurant has been a family favorite for generations. My husband ventured to this restaurant with his grandfather and uncle every time they went skiing in Colorado. Turntable is the epitome of the 50s greasy spoon diner, complete with kitschy memorabilia(including life-sized models of Elvis and Marilyn Monroe), and a working toy train with a track mounted to the ceiling that runs the full perimeter of the restaurant. I love the local family history. The menu is a conglomeration of Minturn family-owned restaurants and recipes handed down through the years. It’s nice to get a sense of the community – you won’t get this from other restaurants in the Vail valley. The food itself is good too! The thing I like is it’s authentic. They are using their own recipes, not prepackaged commissary meals. I tried turntable for the first time last week. I got the huevos rancheros and my husband got the country fried steak. Delicious! And the portions were big enough to feed us for a week!

Great breakfast and staff. My fiancée and I come here all the time. We love the breakfast burritos. We also love talking to the owner and Debbie the waitress. They are so nice. Love the Old Broncos merchandise, Elvis and Marilyn. They have a pink Christmas tree.

French fries were not tasty. The burritos did not have the refried beans the chicken had no taste and the steak one was tough and grisly.

Haters gotta hate I guess… What are my fellow Unilocalers looking for? This place is only 2 miles off I-70, has great food that is priced inexpensively. They have amazing Colorado style green chili. Which is why I haven’t tried a lot of things here, I always get the«Burrito Colorado». The grilled steak, melted cheese, sour cream, beans, veggies with their award winning green chili inside and out, make it too good to try anything else. Unless it’s something from the real soda fountain they have, like the«train wreck» extra thick malted shake. The building stands on the site of the old railroad turntable, where they would literally turn trains, so there’s a lot of history and a lot of kitsch. If you’re not looking for anything fancy I think you will love it here.

I love kitschy diner dives, but Guy Fieri won’t be here anytime soon. The food was plentiful, but bland. If you say«best red chili in Colorado» on your door, don’t tell me your«out» when I order it. Go to the Saloon next store, it’s much better food and worth the extra $.

Seriously, I am shocked that this staple of great diner fare is not more revered on Unilocal!I adore the cheap, delicious, abundant fare served 24 hours a day!!! The boo burrito is TDF and the pancakes are fluffy and delicious! If you are seeking flavorful diner fare at incredibly low prices you MUST try the turntable! The huevos are delicious and coffee bottomless. Not a gourmet fufu spot but I can not imagine a better place to enjoy a big breakfast in the Vail Valley!

I was looking for a sit-down place for lunch whilst here on business so I hit this place up. The service was subpar at best and the food is exceptionally expensive for what you receive(even in the Vail Valley). Also, I felt like I had time warped four decades back… Five depending on the oldies tune playing on the stereo. I think I’ll hit another place next time!

I. LOVE. TURNTABLE. When I die, I want to be buried with(or in) a vat of their enchilada sauce. A total greasy spoon, family owned and operated since forever, the Turntable is a local favorite in Minturn. The menu is divided by meal: breakfast and lunch, but also by family specialty — various old Colorado families have contributed their recipes for breakfast burritos, omelettes, etc., and it’s listed this way on the menu — for example, you can get a Boo burrito, named after someone named Boo, obviously. Almost everything on the menu has a Mexican twist to it, but they do have pancakes, waffles, and French toast, for those not wanting to start the day with refried beans! If you’re like me and like to eat breakfast food for breakfast but want a bit of a twist, you can get a bowl of enchilada sauce on the side. Which you will then want to drink with a straw. They also have fresh baked goods — giant cinnamon rolls for under $ 5, pies, you name it. If you want you can get a 52 ounce vat of their famous, award winning green chili to go. They also have a motel with rooms for under $ 40. With quirky décor(or creepy — a weird collection of trolls and Ken dolls in a glass case) and oldies playing on the jukebox, you can’t go wrong with The Turntable.

Mountain Mama hang out. Kitschy, Kitschy ya ya! As a Minturn local, I love this place. Food is consistently yum and very cheap! Biscuits and gravy with hash browns for only $ 3! History lesson on Minturn in the menu and crazy collections of knick-knacks. The Denver Broncos vinyl table cloths are rad. Yearly celebrations with Christmas in July and Elvis tributes. You haven’t lived until you’ve taken your photo behind the cut-out at the entrance. Never stayed in the motel… but it looks like you get what you pay for in that regard. Cheap and easy.

Can I give zero stars? I stopped here when I-70 was closed and stepped over to the saloon next door for a beer. Before we even got to the room, we got lectured by some guy who must live in one of the rooms. He bitched about what we were bringing in and went off on some insurance rant about how people like us cost the owner a fortune. I’m sure a door would be a fortune to the owner since the bathroom didn’t even have one. Fortunately for us, we just got notice that the freeway opened, so we went back to the front desk before we even stepped in the room. I asked the clerk if we could check out and get some kind of receipt to prevent further charges, but she had no clue what we were talking about. She refused to give us anything in writing, so I wouldn’t be surprised to find extra charges from this shady business. After all, this whole town seems actively hostile to anyone who isn’t a local. Oh, and you’ll get towed if you park in half the spaces in their lot.

Ahh The Turntable. Without a doubt, the cheapest digs in the greater Vail area. It’s got a certain«charm» to it. The rooms’ cinderblock walls might remind you of your college dormitory days… or that time you were in jail. Everything is brown and it’s not luxury. But, it’s cheap! Last time I stayed at the Turntable, the police arrested a woman across the hall for violating a restraining order that her boyfriend had placed on her. Minutes before the police came knocking on the door, the boyfriend was overheard saying«Baby, let me in. I’ve got something for you. Come on baby! There are cops roaming around.» So yeah, there might be some druggies, some illegal immigrants, but at under $ 50 for a double bed and a less than 10 minute drive to the best ski resort in the country, you can’t go wrong. Don’t forget to stop by the restaurant and check out their Elvis collection?! For some reason, they’re proud of it.
