Ignite Cheerleading

The owner, Kelly is so unprofessional and unorganized. She felt it was acceptable behavior to yell at and put her hands on another mother (who is also pregnant!) in front of my 6 year old daughter. I am warning all parents who are thinking about sending your daughters here, please do not take the chance of this happening to your child. My daughter was so upset and shaken up that it took over an hour to calm her down. It has been a couple weeks since the incident and she still asks me «why did that mean lady do that to my friends mom and scare us like that?» It is truly sad that when I confronted Kelly, she said my daughter was a liar and I wasn’t there to see what happened and blamed everything on the other mother. Exactly what does a 6 year old have to gain by lying? NOTHING! What a sad excuse for a human being, let alone a business owner whose business is supposed to be about children. Please beware, and do research before you go to any business that has to do with your children.

This Cheer Program is wonderful! We were with the Recreation program for 2 years and now a part of their competitive teams! Everyone is given a schedule at the beginning of the year– even in the rec program, and the schedule is posted on the web site as well. The competitive teams even have a special online calendar that we can check. There is also a Facebook page that posts reminders for both the recreational teams and competitive teams. We get a detailed e-​mail before every competition with exact times the girls have to check in with their coaches, warm up times, performance times and awards. Also lets us know what hair style will be used that day. I am always informed.
My daughter took private lessons here and in a matter of months went from learning a back handspring to a back tuck and punch fronts! So Cool!!! Our coaches are so great with the girls and we are very thankful for all the time and hard work they put in. The owner is very professional and knowledgeable and runs a great gym. We’ve had such a fun year and love going to all the competitions!!! Can’t wait for the next season!

BEWARE! Guess we should have gone with our gut instinct when we had our FIRST bad experience with Ignite Cheer in Minooka (no introduction on day 1, no direction on anything, our daughter had as asthma attack and nobody showed concern and they have a «no viewing» policy where they close the doors and you cannot see what your child is doing) Or when I had other people telling me to avoid the place because its a joke. I still gave it the benefit of the doubt. But this is my WARNING to other parents thinking about sending their kids. The owner, Kelly, is so unprofessional, unorganized, and downright nasty considering she thought it was okay to PUT HER HANDS ON ME & PUSH ME (5.5 MONTHS PREGNANT) The altercation arose after i witnessed kelly leaving multiple unsupervised 5 – 7 yr old kids sitting in a lobby after «cancelling practice» and failing to notify parents. When I told her that the kids were out there alone, her response was «i was inside coaching, that’s not my problem, I’m not their parent»… So if this lady has the nerve to get physical w an adult. will that stop her from being nasty to the kids? What a pathetic excuse for a coach/​mentor/​business owner. BEWARE! Attempted to leave a review on google but clearly she had that possibility removed from the search engine (red flag)! This seems to be her normal character according to other people in the area. Do yourself a favor and find a LEGIT program. What kind of role model is this?
