Avoid this hospital at all cost! As an Rn of 15 years, and former employee I can tell with complete confidence that this hospital is the absolute worst place I’ve ever had the unfortunate experience of working at. These nurses and doctors are so stupid, they could not tell when my patient was crashing. Had an idiot neurologist covering for neurosurgery (illegal). But then again, what do you expect from some hick hospital in the middle of a depressed cornfield…

T — A tick, a female tick.
I — The one who got the bite.
C — The call, a frantic call.
K — The doctor’s name was Kurt.
B — Down 6 vials of blood.
I — Sure hope I don’t get Lyme.
T — Tons of tetracycline.
E — Everyone should work this great!
Okay, this is sure nothing to joke about. And I am one of the lucky ones. But I was glad this urgent care did an excellent job. What’s more; after I got back to Chicago; this MD worked with mine.
I suppose I should also give a nod to the extensive computerized pictures of ticks of all types, sexes, and sizes that I was shown … it was like a 10 most wanted … only creepier.
Bottom line: the next time you’re thinking you have a new mole or beauty mark: check it out and see if it waves at you.

It was bound to happen; after years of fishing without incident, my 28 yo son caught a nice walleye, and got hooked as he tried to unhook the fish. My husband got the hook out of his finger, but as it had been over 10 years since said son has had a tetnus shot, off we went to the urgent care. He was quickly checked in and was called in under 10 minutes. He was back out in short order. Very professional and kind; good to know for any further mishaps.
