Tara’s Sewing & Alterations

Tara is honestly the best tailor out there — definitely the best that I have worked with in either the Bay Area and in Minnesota.
I flew in to Minnesota on a Saturday before leaving to a wedding on that coming Wednesday. I had tailored my suit that I was wearing to the wedding, but the tailor who did it in California was terrible. She charged a lot and did not alter the suit how I wanted. I wanted to tailor the suit again in Minnesota before leaving on Wednesday, but I new it would be a long shot that any tailor would accept me since I needed to bring the pants in a lot and shorten the jacket (not an easy job). Nevertheless, I flew in Saturday, and by the time I was ready to find a tailor, it had already hit 6:00pm… I called one place in Minneapolis that closed at 7 and told them about the job saying I needed it done by Tuesday if possible, and they said, «next Tuesday?» I said that I meant that coming Tuesday, but they refused, saying that it was not enough time for the job. I then called Tara who also closed at 7. When I told her about the job, she immediately told me to stop by before she closed. Tara fitted me as soon as I got there, and despite me being indecisive, she was patient and helpful every step of the way. Tara then told me that she would give me a call on Monday if she was able to finish by then. WOW. Tara ended up calling me Monday, and I picked up the suit then. She managed to finish the job in only a day (she is closed on Sundays) and did an absolutely perfect job. The suit looked just how I wanted it to look, and she charged me very, very reasonably (even less for the jacket and the pants than the tailor in California charged for just the jacket).
Tara was incredibly kind, accommodating, patient, and helpful, and her work is outstanding. Definitely the best tailor I have ever been to. I will definitely be going back!!!

Tara is just a great seamstress. She is such a sweet person and really works with your body to get the best fit. She is so very reasonable. I think she charges too little for the amount of work she does on a garment for me. I usually end up giving her extra because I can see the amount of time she has put in. You will be really delighted with her and she is very quick if you need it soon.

It is the best in town for the service and price.
The continuing road construction on Shady Oak Rd makes it a little hard to locate the place but it is worth to try.
I was sick and tired for trying some other places and wasting tons of money for alterations, finally found this place.
