I had a very bad experience this evening with a checkout man names Frances. Incredibly rude and slow service. The staff member was very rude to me once I handed him a coupon for a $ 2 pack of American Spirit cigarets. He spent 10 min. rereading the small print on the coupon. In the end I had to forgo the sale and use my coupon elsewhere. Fifteen min. later it all ended with a very sarcastic«thanks, really» from the clerk.

The store seems well-stocked, and they have a nice clerk at the front, but – and it is not easy to say this – she is unable to use one hand, and is therefore extremely slow in serving customers. I wonder if this good person could be better placed in a position where speed is not important. There are often six or seven people waiting to check out, which is frustrating.

This is a good, not great Walgreens. It has the major things you need, especially when in a pinch. However, it lacks some of the ‘extras’ that the bigger or differently located Walgreens sport. For instance, I went in looking for a personal massager to loosen muscles after runs and I couldn’t find them at this location after seeing them at the Walgreens at 50th and France. I’d recommend this Walgreens for the basic necessities, but if you think what you are looking for should be carried at a drug store but may not be a HIGHLY common item, use another location.

I haven’t needed to develop film in forever(well, since I entered the MODERNAGE about 6 years ago and broke down and got a digital camera) but this is now my go-to place to get pictures. I have a stupidly unpredictable Lomo LC-A(which is a reason people love it — I haven’t gotten on that train yet) and the people here won’t charge me if a roll bites the big one, even if some of the pictures came out. They are also really fast and you can tell them what time you want to pick up the film. Film processing is friggin’ expensive so make sure you check their weekly ads in the paper(they also have them at the entrance in the store) because sometimes you can get coupons for ten or fifteen cents per picture. If not, plan on paying about $ 9 for a roll of 24 pictures. If you go during the day(anytime before 7 at night) this place is PACKED, especially around the time school gets out. It’s so crowded that I avoid the intersection of 54th and Lyndale at all costs during that time. With that said, I love this Walgreens because it is EXACTLY the same as it was when I was a kid. I went to grade school next door and I’m pretty sure I recognize some of the employees because they worked there in 1990.
