I ordered a pizza for delivery. I gave a very curt woman my order. I told her that I have a coupon and she sighed and said that I should have told her earlier, and that she would not allow my coupon This was at 11:43 — 11:45pm on October 30th. If Uptown Pizza will not allow their own coupons, that is very disappointing.

I had never had Uptown Pizza so instead of ordering from the same places all the time I decided to try something new. The prices seemed a little steep but if its good pizza I’ll pay for it. I got the four cheese specialty pizza and added jalapeños and mushrooms to one half. With the additions it made my 10″ inch $ 15 and I also got an order of garlic knots. The garlic knots were very tasty which is why this gets two stars instead of one. The pizza I got was a mess. It looked nothing like the picture on their website and being just cheese that seems kind of hard to mess up. There was probably one mushroom worth of slices and a few more jalapeños thrown on, and it extremely unevenly cut. A couple large slices and then little slivers. If I had been sharing this pizza it would’ve been hard to do. It definitely did not taste very good and for the price I’m wishing I would’ve ordered somewhere else. Even if this pizza had been half the price I still would’ve been disappointed.

I wanted to try this place because lots of friends of mine say it their go-to place for pizza. I went there late on a Sunday(11:00pm late) and I called ahead and they put me on hold immediately for a little bit, so I figured they were busy? No big deal really but when I got there there were only two workers and they aren’t making any other pizza’s just in the back. They didn’t seem like the friendliest people but it was late at night. I ordered the Sunday Night $ 15.0020″ 1-topping pizza deal and it was huge! The pizza had sausage on it. It wasn’t the most amazing pizza I’ve ever had but it hit the spot, and so many leftovers to be had! I ordered the garlic knots as well, they were very good but very oily. I could only eat one because I knew I would easily get a stomach ache eating them. Overall the pizza was okay, the service was somewhat poor(but in the end they got the job done and gave me a pizza), and I’m not sure if I’d go back again with some many other pizza places nearby. Their normal prices were a little high for me. But you never know! I wanted to come back and try their baked potato pizza until I saw instant potatoes on their shelf. I would like to try other places first before I come back and take a stab at this place again! But I still think people should try this place because so many people I know love it and everyone has different tastes. The staff are going be what they are gonna be and that’s whatever.

Gave it a try for the first time hoping for a good simple slightly resembling NY pizza. Big big disappointment. The pizza was think and very doughy. It was remarkably unspectacular.

This place used to be my go-to for late night pizza. Based on my last three visits I regret to have to hit just the three stars. All in all you will get your pizza fix and the sauce is still excellent. The steady decline in the crust quality is a big issue for me. I prefer more of a Brooklyn style crust– which uptown used to hit but as of late(past six months) the crust has become thick dense and undercooked for my liking. I usually get the 4-cheese in an extra large. Price is right still recommend uptown pizza for late night but it’s just not what it use to be :-(

No idea why they don’t have better ratings /reviews… This place is amazing! Crust is perfect — soft and chewy yet crispy. Also– 20″ one-topping pizza for $ 15 on Sundays!

Never a dull moment when ordering uptown pizza. They load it up with tons of toppings! They have tons of choices as well. I’ve had the best pizzas living in NYC and uptown pizza reminds me of NYC pizza. I’ve ordered at least 10 times now and one time it was slow. I order the 20 inch pizzas too. Will always order from them for a good pizza night!

Ordered delivery from them, the guy was rude on the phone then wanted me to go and meet the driver outside. He said it took to much time to come to my apartment door. Hello I sick and it 10 degrees outside! Do your job.

This pizza is da bomb! Its pizza is as good as any other top pizza in the Mpls area. It goes down faster than most other pizzas I’ve tried. 1−2−3 gone.

These folks are«having a laugh.» Even after reading a «stay away» review I thought I would give these guys a chance. They use to be a solid Uptown option, not so much anymore. An Hour and seven minutes after I ordered my basic one topping pizza. I get a pizza fully loaded with toppings, I called them to explain, Them: «yeah we were just about to call you… We’re gonna fire up another one for you. Me: what should I do with this pizza? Them: Give it to the driver. Me: Why? after sampling this pizza albeit, I didn’t order, all I can say is gross. I’m now 95 mins in to this thing and I don’t even want my previous order… and I can guarantee no refund, no coupon. I really hate writing this but… it’s expensive tasteless crap! I echo the many other previous reviews and say… stay away!

The people here are friendly — patient waiting for you to order, patient in answering questions about their menu, so I upped their review by a star to 3. The place doesn’t have any seats to eat your pizza and when we arrived around 7:30pm on a Friday night they didn’t have any slices left. When we came back around 8:15pm to pick up our order, someone else was being disappointed by the place not having any slices($ 3) available either. I’m thinking they run out pretty frequently and maybe don’t spend the extra time to make more. Maybe because it’s not popular enough for them to make more? I’m not quite sure. Anyhow, we ordered the buffalo chicken. The pizza pie just isn’t very flavorful. The crust is usually one of the parts that I look forward to finishing up, but I wasn’t impressed with this crust. I thought the sauce was a bit bland for being a spicy buffalo pizza sauce, but the cheese quality is obviously great. There wasn’t much chicken and all in all, it was about $ 22 for a large pizza, which was more than I wanted to pay for this type of pizza. It’s a great local place and they deliver in this area for free, so that’s nice! They’re supposed to be open until 2:30am so a great place to stop by late at night. They probably have slices available then.

This is the best pizza in the Twin Cities. These hard workers stay up until 230 to make sure your drunk ass has something in your stomach. If you are lactose intolerant then stay the hell away. These people make cheesy a compliment. This pizza is dope. And the single slices are like the size of porn stars of pizza, it doesn’t get bigger. Unless you order a whole pizza, which would make it a porn star pizza orgy. In summary: best pizza ever.(I’m gonna slogan this) Even Great Open Late!(That’s slogan gold).

One of my favorite pizzas for many reasons. 1) they deliver… far, and late. 2) the cool foreign delivery guy and 3) the Manhattan. You don’t know how many late nights I have ordered a MAGNUM Manhattan and smashed with some friends. I have tried all the pizzas, and by far it is my favorite. But make sure you use coupons cause these guys are not cheap.

My favorite pizza in Minneapolis. That’s saying a lot too, because I love pizza and there’s a ton of great pizza to be had. I think it’s the sauce at Uptown Pizza that does it for me. And the garlic knots, they’re amazing. I can’t resist buying an order every time I order. I wish I could too, because Uptown Pizza is really overpriced. Even though they’re my favorite pizza I rarely order from here because it’s so ridiculously expensive to get specialty pizzas from this place. The price issue is a crying shame, because the specialty pizzas at Uptown Pizza are soooo good. I have a few favorites – the Maui, which is sort of like a Hawaiian pizza(my ultimate favorite kind of pizza) with Canadian bacon, pineapple and coconut. Sooo good. I order those when I’m ordering in solitude and sickly scarf the whole thing down as soon as its delivered. My ultimate favorite is Thai Chicken, which has of course chicken, then pineapple and coconut with Sriracha sauce. It’s like the Maui but spicy, it’s soo good. I also love getting the Buffalo Chicken pizza, cuz I love all things chicken especially when its slathered in buffalo sauce. I lived on the same block as Uptown Pizza and it was heaven. Ordered takeout all of the time. The only gripe I have is the slightly terrible customer service. Some of the cashiers there are suffering from a case of cool job syndrome or something, because they act like rock stars and have kind of an unnecessary level of attitude with customers, especially if you don’t do things the way they’re used to, like presenting a coupon immediately or stating you have a coupon when you order. Because it somehow totally messes up with their lives, even if you’re picking up the pizza and not getting it delivered. Whatever I guess, this small gripe is small fries compared to the large amounts of awesome Uptown Pizza contains. I want to order some right now, just thinking about it.

Being a downtown resident and total pizza fanatic, I often find it’s difficult or impossible to get the GOOD pizza places to deliver here, and I’m sick of «corporate pizza». Even Pizza Luce has failed me in the last couple of years, and they’ve lost me on inconsistent taste and service. I just found out about Uptown Pizza through a downtown coupon book. Hungry, I called ‘em up to try it – I ordered my pie, a 14″ sausage and pepperoni, and was even given a little discount as a first-time customer. Delivery was quoted at 45 minutes but I got it in about 35 minutes. Pizza arrived piping hot and looked tantalizing with nice spots of caramelized cheese(but wasn’t over-done at all). And I actually had to wait a bit to let it cool down — burned the roof of my mouth. :) First bite and I was hooked! A good NY-style crust that isn’t floppy or soggy holds up a great layer of zingy sauce(that isn’t overpowering — has the perfect kick) and a mild-spice pepperoni under tasty cheese, finished with a good sausage that is neither bland nor overpowering. If they keep this up, Uptown Pizza is definitely my new pizza delivery of choice.

I used to think of Uptown Pizza favorably, but they have really let it slide over the last few years. Initially pizzas like the Manhattan(Canadian bacon, tomato, jalapenos), Thai Chicken(chicken, pineapple and coconut on spicy sauce), and the San Antonio(chicken, tomato, bacon) were novel and interesting pies. And they were, to the extent that Uptown delivered them on time and in one piece(meaning cut for eating but not looking like it had been involved in a rollover crash). Over the last several years, though, the standards have fallen and now it typically takes 1.5 hours to receive the pizza, and sometimes you feel like it won’t come at all. I have also experienced the situation where the drivers/employees don’t seem to know where the place is, even though they’ve been there numerous times and it’s all set out on a grid. I guess that’s their default excuse for whatever problems are going on in the pizza production and distribution areas. It’s a shame, because while it’s a little sleazy I kind of liked Uptown, especially their willingness to deliver late in a city that lacks an abundance of midnight-hour places. Now, though, after many late-night tries with them, I think I’m done. The pizza has developed a reputation of showing up extremely late, with few condolences, and one time we had to literally shut the door in the driver’s face because it was like two-plus hours from the point of order. What does show up is, all too often, gross and inedible. I wouldn’t suggest getting anything but their signature pies because they don’t seem to know how to make a pizza with specific toppings properly and deliver it quickly. The pizza is almost always a mess, and tastes worse than a frozen pizza would. Their garlic toast is stale, the chicken wings are probably worse than Domino’s, and the garlic knots are liable to have several fluid ounces of grease dropping out of them once penetrated. Oh Uptown, I once knew ye. I’m afraid you’ll never regain your luster. Now we all regret, regret, regret… If you’ve never tried them, give it a go sometime and then review it. Afterward you might find yourself with a new-found love for American Pie Pizza.
