So good! Huge servings and super high quality make this a great value. The knife skills of the chef are a sight to behold. Vegetables chopped in front of your eyes. $ 10.50 for a huge gyro platter with tabouleh and a meat pie.

My favorite type of restaurant, a little hole in the wall place with delicious, authentic food, generous portion sizes and cheerful service. My boyfriend and I both got the gyro combo plate and the cook even gave me a free falafel on the side because I couldn’t make up my mind. One of the best falafels I’ve ever had and the gyro meat tastes like it was good quality and not too greasy like most gyro meat I’ve had. I highly reccomend this place over all the food chains that seem to dominate the area!

There are a line for lunch at noon, but it was a well worth it. I got the gyro plate with salad. All the vegetables were chopped right before being put on the plate. It included a very generous portion of feta, pita, tzatziki, hummus and meat. No skimping on the good stuff. There was no way I could finish it. It was definitely a good place and next time I will try the chicken kebab sandwich.

I was walking around downtown Minneapolis and decided to Unilocal a good place for lunch. Trieste Café came up nearby and 4.5 stars. I hadn’t had Greek food for a while so I decided to give it a go. I ordered the Gyro combo platter with a side Greed Salad. It’s quite large and it comes with fresh pita and homemade hummus. Absolutely delicious. The lamb meat is by far the most tender and juicy I’ve ever eaten. I highly recommend this place.

I don’t usually like gyro but this … Is the bomb! And they prepare the salad fresh in front of you. It’s like watching your mum cook for you, giving attention to all the little details. Will definitely be back! Oh and the garlic sauce? I ate it by the spoonful

We went to Trieste Café on our way back to the airport. I was looking for a place to grab some lunch close to a light rail station. We walked in around 2pm on a Tuesday afternoon. The place was completely empty, so we had obviously gone after the lunchtime rush. We had three lamb/beef gyros on pita and a baba ganoush wrap. The gyro meat was so tender and tasty, and the salad, so fresh. We thought we had ordered a hummus, but never got it, so then we asked about it and let it go, thinking we never ordered it. A few minutes later, the man(I don’t believe he was the owner, but he was oh, so pleasant), came and gave us a container of hummus and some pita. Although we don’t know how tight it gets during the lunchtime crowd(it’s not a very big place at all), it was perfectly cozy for us.

After reading some favorable reviews online for this place the Wife and I decided to give it a try. We were in town for a Twins game and it was along the way. It is within walking distance to the park. We both ordered the special of the day. Everything was great, cooked perfectly and the portions are spot on. I would definitely recommend Trieste Café.

Trieste Café is one of the few«skyway» places I am willing to line up for lunch, because I know I will be rewarded by plentiful, delicious Greek food. Thankfully, Trieste’s pretty close to the office, but you still want to get there pretty early(especially on Fridays) so the line isn’t spilling out the door when you get there. But if it is, just hang tight, chat with your coworkers, and contemplate what you want to get because there are plenty of great, gut-busting options. As folks have mentioned, it looks like the entire place is run by these two nice gentlemen, and the guy behind the food is a ninja. I love watching him slice through those onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, etc. as he composes the dishes. Everything is crazy fresh and crazy huge, so you will definitely be satisfied/stuffed. The gyro is super flavorful, the pita is warm, the salad is tart from the balsamic/salty from the feta. In short, comfort Greek food for a fantastic price and efficient but friendly service!

Great Greek food! Bring your appetite if you order the gyros platter. Great vegetarian options. The chicken kabobs looked amazing. If I worked downtown minneapolis, I would eat here at least once a week.

Located inside the Lumber Exchange building. But keep looking and don’t let the small size deter you. That is actually one of the benefits. Run pretty darn smoothly by the two owners who cut up the sandwich ingredients right in front of you and tastes like it was made ONLY for you ! No prepackaged fare here. With both Sammie and Omar treating you like family the very first visit Place is NOT a secret though and plenty of downtownies crowd the place at lunch. I like going in around 1300 when things have quieted down. Downtown and looking for a FABULOUS meal? This is it !

This place really delivers on authentic gyros. I went in expecting small place, with homemade food and that’s exactly what I got. The place screams mom and pop shop, with the two owners the only staff at this place. I got the gyro combo for lunch, which included awesome hummus gyro meat tztazikibsauce and pita bread + wait there’s more. As part of the combo, I also got a dolmade(veggie wrap) and the samosa looking spinach. 5⁄5 starts for sure, you will not be dissapointed. I recommend you go for lunch, and around 1130 am, before the rush

Good food, fresh food! The hummus is really fresh(non-sabra/packaged…) and their gyro meat is super tender. I loved their tatziki sauce! The portions are also really, really large, so for $ 11 you do get a lot but if you’re going for smaller portions, I’d pick another place for lunch. The guys behind the counter are also really nice and they prepare your food pretty quickly. I love that they chop the vegetables in front of you. It gives you an authentic experience. Wished they had baklava though…

The food here is delicious! Handmade everyday so everything is guaranteed to be fresh. The gyro was hearty and filled me up. There was plenty of sauce as well so be careful if you are in business clothes. It might be a better call to get a boxed combo. I also had the Pesto pasta salad and it was fantastic! The restaurant is a little small, but the line is worth the wait.

This lunch hot spot is a place I will definitely be returning to! The food is fresh and made to order. Best gyro meat I’ve ever tasted. The food platters are like works of art… seriously. Food is amazing.

If you love Greek and mediterranean food, go here. It’s everything it needs to be. Probably the best gyro I’ve had in town, excellent falafel, excellent hummos, great salad acompaniment, fantastic tabouli. Just eat here and be happy. PS, word to the wise: Get the stuffed grape leaves«to go» and eat them when they’ve had time to warm up. i’m sure storing them chilled in the shop is much better for freshness, but stuffed grape leaves are much, much tastier when they are at room temperature(or a little warmer, mmmm)

One of the hidden gems in the skyway. It’s a great spot for lunch if you’re looking to get fresh, authentic Greek food. And I’m not kidding when I say fresh: they chop up all the ingredients for your salad, wrap, etc. right in front of you. It’s kind of like lunch and a show as you see lettuce, peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions flying up from the cutting board. The place is family-owned and seems to have been there forever as they definitely have the service humming at an efficient rate. The lines can get long, but they move quickly. My favorite is the Gyros Greek Salad, which comes with gyros meat and a salad with all the fixings including feta cheese, tzatziki sauce, and warm flatbread. It’s a great deal considering all the food that you get. You’ll be stuffed if you finish it all. The portion sizes do seem to have gotten smaller the last few times I’ve been, but it’s still plenty that I’m not complaining.

One of the coolest things about this place is that you can see your food being prepared right in front by the cashier. Check out my Unilocal video! I ordered the gyro platter with hummus, pita and salad which was insanely large. I had leftovers too! This place is pretty small and doesn’t have outdoor seating but it’s one of the best places for Greek food in downtown. It’s easy to walk here through the skyways too and it’s right next to the Pourhouse. This is the place to come if you want a lot of food and you will be nice and full until the end of your work day!

I am thankful that I don’t work closer to Trieste Café, I know that I wouldn’t have enough self control to stay away and neither my waistline nor my pocketbook could handle my obsession with this place. It is small and the line is always pretty long, if you are in a rush this is not the place to go. Give yourself plenty of time to get your food and savor it, a little extra to come out of your food coma wouldn’t hurt. The gyro salad is my go to dish. It is made in front of you with plenty of freshly cut vegetables then topped with warm pita, gyro meat and feta, I highly recommend it. I also particularly love their lemonade and baklava, unfortunately I haven’t had much experience with the rest of the menu but I would be willing to bet that its great. Go now, it’s great!

Trieste, I can’t stop thinking about you. Ever since I switched office buildings, I’m no longer close enough to suggest you for lunch 24⁄7. The farther we grow apart, the greater my love is. It’s just like The Notebook. The lunch combo is fresh and amazing and entirely worth the extra skyway laps you may have to take to burn off those huge portions. Lamb meat with tzatziki, fresh Greek salad, and probably the best hummus and pita I can think of in the Twin Cities. I love you so much. If you’re a bird, I’m a bird. Never leave me.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. I think the layout for seating could be better(knock out that«tunnel» unless it’s a weight bearing wall), otherwise, excellent! I love watching these guys make the salads in front of me with fresh ingredients. Splurge on the baklava — it’s sooo good!
